"the animal" as in George "The Animal" Steele?

btw it seems WWE agree, and have changed their mind about a tribute show now that the facts about what happened have emerged ...

"Last night on Monday Night Raw, the WWE presented a special tribute show, recognizing the career of Chris Benoit. However, now some 26 hours later, the facts of this horrific tragedy are now apparent. Therefore, other than my comments, there will be no mention of Mr. Benoit tonight. On the contrary, tonight's show will be dedicated to everyone who has been affected by this terrible incident. This evening marks the first step of the healing process. Tonight, the WWE performers will do what they do better than anyone else in the world – entertain you."

"The decision to cancel the live event scheduled in Corpus Christi that night was made between 4 and 5 p.m. In keeping with company policy, and with limited knowledge regarding facts of the case, WWE choose to air a memorial dedicated to the career of Chris Benoit. As facts emerged surrounding the case, all tributes to Chris Benoit were removed both on-air and on WWE.com."

Holy Shit! What the hell could have gotten into him!?!? I mean how do you just decide to kill your family like that? :cuss: He should've just killed himself...who knows how many more psychos are in the business waiting to implode with rage... :badday:

I vote for roid rage, and McMahon is the pusher.

WWE says no drugs now (they would) but he has done them a long time, and psychosis is one symptom. "Roid Rage" is not always literal. Psychos sometimes do deliberate, psycho things...not necessarily "rage".

in regards to roid rage though it'll be interesting to see what the toxicology report comes up with, seeing as he apparently tested negative only a couple months ago

Pretty much, Mcmahon has built a billion dollar empire that is made up of dead 40 year old men. Look at how many men worked for Mcmahon that have died due to heart attack, drugs or depression. Mcmahan was busted in the 80's for pushing roids on wrestlers and Hulk Hogan had to testify. To look at the WWE and think that those people arent using steroids is a bit naive. All of them do, take a look at them.

Wrestlers travel and perform over 250 days a year. So if you are performing that much do you have time ot work out? If you work out then your body needs time to heal, usuallly 48-72 hours. But wrestlers dont have that due to schedule. So in order to keeep up appearances and look the part. They gotta use roids to heal their bodies faster so they can be on the road and perform.

And a negative drug test means what? That he dont use roids? I mean how many threads do you see here on how to keep smoking and beat a drug test? Drug tests dont mean shit. there are doctors who make a living helping people beat them. Plus human growth hormone they dont have a test for yet so they can use that and still go undetected. Look at body builders, they are tested yet do you think they are steroid free.

Fuck WWE and so called "athletes" who take steroids. Steroids are for pussies and losers.

Animal as in The Road warriors - Hawk & Animal

Hawk died 2003 @ 46 years old from an apparent heart attack. He was an admitted steroid user who battled alcoholism and drugs addictions pretty much all thru his life.

Animal is still active in TNA rasslin'

Yup, look at McMahon these days...tired, old, worn out and his own best customer. He used to be small, but obviously juiced up to put himself in the "drama" of his events.

They still can't control drugs in something legit like the Olympics and people think that the wrestling entertainment freakshow is gonna be regulated? Money talks....

Obviously WWE want to downplay the involvment of steroids, but I can see what they are saying about it looking more methodical than an act of 'rage'. Killing his wife on Friday, his son on Saturday and then himself on Sunday/Monday seems a long time to sustain the 'rage'

Blaming steriods on Benoit of all his problems doesnt seems right..The majority of people can take them without any side affects under doctors supervision..the one that get the side effect are the minority..those people are the ones that give steriods a bad name..hence its gets blown out of whack and the bad name

Ever seen side effect on Aspirin ?

Aspirin has a multitude of side effects including acid-base abnormalities, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), vertigo, hearing loss, kidney failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, and gastritis.

I agree, especially when he tested negative just a couple months ago! We do know that he split from his wife a few years ago and at one stage she got a restraining order of some type against him but that was later dropped. We also know that his son has Fragile X syndrome which is like autism, and we also know that Chris Benoit struggled in regards to that and apparently suffered from some depression as a result. It's easy and convenient to simply blame this on roid rage but i think we should wait for the toxicology report for that. I have a feeling this has more to do with his relationship with his wife and something that has happened in regards to that.

The tryptophan pill was over-the-counter amino acid back in the 1980's that one knows that it is contained in milk to put one in a relaxed state or sleepy like right before you go to sleep

According to the directions, one is suppose to take two 250mill tablets a day...I've taken it and i only needed it for 3 days..had 2 months of good sleep before the bio-clock ticked it and life itself of course

One 400 pounds lady took this pill 8 times a day for 6 months and what happen was the bones started to connect to each other as in melded bones and then tryptophan was banned...all from a minority crowd..some 400 pounds of a fat chick

The majority crowd would have gotten good results from the tryptophan itself

Steriod is good for someone will low testosterone so I don't think its fair to attack the drug itself...peace

Again, most times there is rage, but some people slip down the dark spiral of psychosis until one day they snap....slow, methodical, careful.....classic traits of psychosis. Psychotics like the attention and spotlight on what they do. It drives them. He may have had issues with his wife, but it's a psychopath who would do the things he did.

It's not always literal rage.

I'm still gonna stick with the "musclehead goes over the bend from the roids" story until it is proven otherwise.

P.S. Big business lies all the time to put whatever negative stories or facts into the best possible light, to avoid damage to their financials and their reputation. It's called "spin". WWE does not want the info to get out that their hopped up roid head wrestlers are ticking time bombs.

If you don't believe that then you probably think wrasslin is real, anyway....sigh.

ATLANTA - Investigators are looking into who altered pro wrestler Chris Benoit's Wikipedia entry to mention his wife's death hours before authorities discovered the bodies of the couple and their 7-year-old son.

Benoit's Wikipedia entry was altered early Monday to say that the wrestler had missed a match two days earlier because of his wife's death.

A Wikipedia official, Cary Bass, said Thursday that the entry was made by someone using an Internet protocol address registered in Stamford, Conn., where World Wrestling Entertainment is based.

An IP address, a unique series of numbers carried by every machine connected to the Internet, does not necessarily have to be broadcast from where it is registered. The bodies were found in Benoit's home in suburban Atlanta, and it's not known where the posting was sent from, Bass said.

Benoit strangled his wife and son during the weekend, placing Bibles next to their bodies, before hanging himself on the cable of a weight-machine in his home, authorities said. No motive was offered for the killings, which were discovered Monday.

Also Thursday, federal drug agents said they had raided the west Georgia office of a doctor who prescribed testosterone to Benoit.

The raid at Dr. Phil Astin's office in Carrollton began Wednesday night and concluded early Thursday, said agent Chuvalo Truesdell, a spokesman for the Drug Enforcement Administration. No arrests were made.

Hours before the raid, Astin told The Associated Press he had treated Benoit for low testosterone levels, which he said likely originated from previous steroid use.

Among other things, investigators were looking for Benoit's medical records to see whether he had been prescribed steroids and, if so, whether that prescription was appropriate, according to a law enforcement official speaking on condition of anonymity because records in the case remain sealed.

Astin prescribed testosterone for Benoit, a longtime friend, in the past but would not say what, if any, medications he prescribed when Benoit visited his office Friday.

State medical records show that Astin's privileges were suspended for three months in 2001 at a Georgia hospital for "reasons related to competence or character."

Astin did not return calls to his cell phone from the AP on Thursday.

Anabolic steroids were found in Benoit's home, leading officials to wonder whether the drugs played a role in the killings. Some experts believe steroids cause paranoia, depression and violent outbursts known as "roid rage."

Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard said in a statement Thursday that he could not immediately comment on the raid.

Benoit's page on Wikipedia, a reference site that allows users to add and edit information, was updated at 12:01 a.m. Monday, about 14 hours before authorities say the bodies were found. The reason he missed a match Saturday night was "stemming from the death of his wife Nancy," it said.

Reporters informed the Fayette County district attorney's office of the posting Thursday, and the agency forwarded the information to sheriff's investigators, who are looking into it, a legal assistant said in an e-mail to the AP.

WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt said that to his knowledge, no one at the WWE knew Nancy Benoit was dead before her body was found Monday afternoon. Text messages released by officials show that messages from Chris Benoit's cell phone were being sent to co-workers a few hours after the Wikipedia posting.

WWE employees are given WWE e-mail addresses, McDevitt said, though he did not know whether Chris Benoit had one.

"I have no idea who posted this," McDevitt said. "It's at least possible Chris may have sent some other text message to someone that we're unaware of. We don't know if he did. The phone is in the possession of authorities."

On Thursday afternoon, the Wikipedia page about Benoit carried a note stating that editing by unregistered or newly registered users was disabled until July 8 because of vandalism.

In other developments Thursday, Ballard told the AP that 10 empty beer cans were found in a trash can in the Benoit home. An empty wine bottle was found a few feet from where Benoit hanged himself, Ballard said.

It could take several weeks for toxicology tests to be completed on Benoit to see what substances, if any, were in his system.

Benoit took four months off from work in 2006 for undisclosed personal reasons, McDevitt said.

"He was feeling depressed, that kind of thing," McDevitt said.

In the days before the killings, Benoit and his wife argued over whether he should stay home more to take care of their mentally retarded 7-year-old son, according to an attorney for the WWE wrestling league.

The child had a rare medical condition called Fragile X Syndrome, an inherited form of mental retardation often accompanied by autism.

Chris Benoit's father, Michael Benoit, declined to comment on the slayings when reached Thursday by telephone in Alberta, Canada. Funeral arrangements were incomplete.
