time for another update... Every day that passes I want to chop them more and more, but the buds are still getting fatter and more dense every day so i'm probably gonna wait until 50 Days.. looking like a big harvest hopefully. i gave 3 of the biggest colas to my friend for her birthday, she said her whole house smells like tangerines now FUCK YEAH

Nice Brudda...everything looks tastey...I once had a strain that smelled like orange peels...it was glorious...but I have a question. Do you do anything in terms of flushing or cleansing the nutes from the plants...too improve taste?

I am used to hydro and I used a flushing agent...I am doing the portable tubs now too...they seem to be great, lids flipped upside down. I just do one massive plant per tub and use 600W still gets like a 1/2P....

Anyways one other suggestion I have is let those babies go longer....they look like they would last. Id say at least 60 days...IMO the fan leaves still look very fresh, I am used to them dying off a little bit before the plant finishes. What do you think?

yeah, I have a feeling they should be left to ripen for another week or two.. the anticipation is killing me though. thanks for the tip, i will probably let them chill for a while.

cool idea using the bins to grow one massive plant.. i've thought about doing that, especially with this tangerine... she loves to stretch and fill open spaces. i'm hoping for a 1/2 lb per bin as well, but with 30-40 plants per bin that's only like 7g. per plant. some look like they have twice that

have been up for the last 2 days trimming, almost done now..

hope to yield 5-6 #s including my partner's, we will see

LOL couldnt wait till 60 eh! too bad you shoulda left 1 or 2 plants to see if they explode/grow bigger in the last 10 days....Im not sure what earwax is....I guess it is some kind of hash method you are looking for. Everyone has their own preference, but here's a good link for many methods of harvesting hash........mines the best...lol

Hey Schrews.......Found this thread by accident.......Glad you had such good luck with your tubs of plants.......You Cali guys.... ...Jealous `ol bastard over here......It`s so simple and believe me so many people think to pull the grams per watt you`ve gotta make it expensive with all the bells and whistles and complicate it with crazy hydro systems and you did it with only 40 watts per sq. ft and some dirt in fuckin plastic tubs.........Killer job my buddy......Hope you get control of your RH to finish your buds with your new dehuey and I`m pullin for yas on over 2 lbs. per light outta the total yield of all 12 tubs..........Just keep that fresh air moving and you`ll probably be aight.......That tangerine is some wicked sounding shit and only takes 6 maybe 7 weeks ta finish ?........Sign me up......I`m hooked.......I haveta make myself chop at 9-9 1/2 weeks ta keep the rotations on schedule.......They could go longer but they`re 75% cloudy trichs at that age and the dry and cure takes care of the rest.......So you think you`re gonna try roll around beds next run huh ?..........There`s a thread over at the cabana posted by a member showing Big Papa`s threads at AN forums before it shut down....Dewd was killin it with SOG beds usin 1000 watt PL lights that give 5x5 footprint......It`s hardta get much easier than your tub grows handwatered every other day but the beds are proven yielders once they`re dialed...... I think he was only feeding once or maybe twice a week late flower when they drink and swell..... Tables had pre-built drains for runoff to make sure the beds were totally saturated after each feed but let em dry out between feeds and had serious explosive growth.........I run vertical grows now with bare bulbs and coco top fed plants but I`ve got several rooms of ebb and flow buckets kinda like SOG but there`s enough room in each 5 gal bucket for 2 1/2 oz. plants so there`s really no crowded canopy........As they finish they`re being converted over to the vert system due to the yield increase from the first 2 flip room finishes....... Holler if I can ever help with the perpetual thingy ..........I`ve been runnin non stop for over 4 yrs. choppin every 31-35 days with couple week pre-vegged plants swappin out in E and F bucket flip-flop bloom rooms till 6 months ago when the racks got built........The rest is history.......Peace..........DHF........... ......

ok so we pulled a week ago, trimmed for 3 days and hung/dried for another 3 days... the stems are snappy so its time for the jars/patients whatever comes first

Final Dry Weight for all 12 bins: 5 Lb 7 Oz

approx. 1.35# (600 g.) per light

OR

0.6 Grams per Watt



I kept 3.5 LB and my partner took the rest. My total investment was approx. 4K including deposit, rent, utilities, soil, clones (bastard charged me for my own strain!), lights, wiring, and nutes.

This is my first-ever indoor grow and first time with this strain in over a year, so there is some dialing-in to be done. I will try to get closer to 1 GPW next run, using light movers and a lower plant count (less is more).

all in all, i am very happy. we encountered no pests, fungi, or other problems, and I have more knowledge now to maximize my next run this awesome Tangerine strain.

thanks DHF it sounds like u have seen ur share of gardens, im glad you liked my little experiment. yeah it was probably the simplest set up possible, and not a bad yield, though ididnt hit that 2lb per light mark but hey who really gives a fuck right, right.

yah i am building toward a flip/flop perpetual, i hope to have it running by January, after one more tear-down grow.. that vertical grow sounds interesting i'll have to give it a try soon. thanks for watching i'll blaze one for ya

Sick bong too that makes me drool I'm glass collector too congrats on the harvest I'm goin to get my boy to do a few tubs in his room see if I can get him to quit his top feed hydro system cuz it's a pain in the ass and he's lazy and always forgets to change the res ect. After you dropped that video on the other site, I was wondering how this shit was gonna turn out, never having seen anymore from it.
Absolutely killer idea for a setup, like everyone says the simplicity of it is what makes it golden. We are overseeing a "simple" hydro sog right now done on the cheap with no expensive water pumps or chillers, but I think you've realized the idea of KISS even better than we did.
I am definitely gonna be doing some soilwork again in teh future (switched to hydro about 2 years back I guess) and I think you've confirmed that this idea is one worth looking into. Looks to me like it would beat supercropped 5 gallons for g/w. Big numbers of clones required to feed that system you're talking about, but if you got room for the healthy moms then keep on doing it bro, cause you've done good thus far.


You got me really interested in that tangerine.. definitely post some dry shots when you think its nice & cured. Shortbloomers with flavor make a greenthumb go crazy with jealousy

no bud shots guys... A friend held on to a fairly big bud for us but we have yet to receive it back and take pictures of it. And lineage of the strain is something like this... Tangerine(unknown indica) x Purple Cream. It came from northern Cali and the buds were as big as push-pops. Out of the two seeds grown, the more indica tangerine pheno was chosen by my good friend Schrews. We should have taken a clone of the purple pheno as well, but we know better now, oh well.

And yeah it is a shortbloomer with TONS of flavor. I didn't realize how much like tangerines it smells until someone was eating a tangerine and it smelled just like the buds, fucking nuts. And some of us were not smart enough to stay away from Dirty D...
