PNW Growers- Redux

Thanks for the compliments Spliff, looking back I'm thinking I could have done even better because, well, I lied. I had a tripod. Haha, my stoned/lazy ass was just not wanting to deal with it because it was one of those small mini tripods, and it was just too complicated to get it up close enough to the bud and find something for it to set on, so yeah, after a while I said fook it and did it freehand.. In a week I'll probably have some much better pics. Everyday these buds just get fatter and faaaatter... I love my 1000w!

And of course, thank you 3tOwN, glad you enjoyed. Your guys' pics aren't THAT bad, but man if you got a 5.1mp than man whatchu waitin for! haha, keep up the good work on your end.

keep it green PNW..

Reasons why this thread is slow:

#1-The whole site seems to have slowed way down in the last couple of weeks.

#2-Its still winter, and this thread is in the outdoor forums.

#3-They banned haxixie.

#4-Spacemanspliff has not been around much lately.

The whole online MJ growing community has slowed way down, I thought after OG went down IC and PG would grow by leaps and bounds, but the opposite seems to have happend, people seem to be dropping out. Maybe it will just take longer for things to catch on again.

I can't help but believe that IC has had retarded growth because of the numerous loud xenophobes (a person with a fear of aliens or foreiners) on this site, but they have their wish I suppose, IC is not on the ways to picking up the slack. But it will give me a nice place to hang for a while, most of the folks are pretty civil around here.

Things will pick up in the outdoor forums for summer I bet.

He claims he does not know, but he is over at PG if ya wanna talk to him, Northern dude(ND2 of OG) is also there, as they banned him as well.

I tend to stay out of the politics of the site, and I suspect that might have been the root problem in both cases.

I see.

To bad. But as you suggest there will be more interaction as the season gets started.

Sadly, I am unable to do an outdoor grow so its just me and the cabinet. I am in the Norcal area so I am very familliar with PNW buds. I have on many occassions made pilgramidges to Arcata. Before I got my 215, I would go the plaza, hang at the Alibi.

I called the humboldt coop the other day to see if clones are available-no such luck.

Myself, I am waiting on a Mendocino strain that is just to die for. It is reputed to be TW, but what ever it is-its a thumper to be sure.

So, I am hoping I can hang with you all. I used to lurk in the OG thread. I am sure that the outdoor growers are at just as much of a loss with regard to information and advice lost with OG.

Ya just know, about the middle of April there will be lots of newbie's searching the web for growing information and looking for a site to call home.

I wonder how they will find us:

Google Marijuana Growing, ICMag does not show up in the top 100

Google Marijuana Cultivation, still not in the top 100

Google Cannabis Growing, still not in the top 100

Google Cannabis Cultivation and ICmag is #37

Interesting to note, the troll site does not show up at all. Of course the top entry in every catagory is a dead end.

I don't know about you guys, but for me, the season has already started. The girls (and undoubtedly some guys) are on their second node. The first seeds were popped in the beginning of february. They're in a coldframe right now, and they're suffering a little bit from the weather. It's been raining and even snowing (rare for where I am) on and off for a while now. 2 have died from too much cold and water, but all in all, they're holding up remarkably well.

Perhaps a lot of california people don't show up on the thread, because they see "PNW" in the title and assume it's only oregon and washington. Some people just don't bother to read the actual thread.

HMMM How is everyone? I'm doing good, keeping busy! I miss all my friends a whole lot! Seems everyone is split up and went on to seperate sites. This happens, everyone does it, you grow up and move out. But hopefully we can find a nice place to keep in contact, like Sprint for our grower family :) . There is certainly something missing.

Minds I, what version of Train Wreck is it? One flowers longer (this is more likely the original "E-32") the True Train Wreck! Good luck with that, from what I hear it's a great medacine. The creator was a quiet member at OG running hidden most of the time. He was a friend of Dr Jay, that's who got him to post what he did.

Peace, SSSSpaceman SSSpliff

Stoner133-Yahoo seems to be the same for results. A matter of fact it brought up a lot of crap no newbie needs to find. Shutting down OG really put the hurt on things. I guess some of us need to venture outside of the community somehow and post links in odd places where people might find them?

The original thread on OG had a nice intro by SS explaining the region covered by the thread, basicly Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and Northern California if I recall right. But we had folks from the central coast in Cali, and even yoshicolas from the UK dropped in from time to time. Its just a freindly outdoor growers room, not a strict guidelines membership kind of thing. It was one of the largest threads in the outdoor forums on OG, partly cuz we were all just stoned happy cultivators, always happy to accept newbies and transients for how ever long they wanted to stay.

Anyways, today marks a mile stone in this years outdoor season, today I will start all seeds, and take most of my clones for the outdoor season(the rest will follow as my small moms can handle). My indoor grow with 3town will pay off for me alot by providing clones for my outdoor ventures this summer.
I actually should have started yesterday, but I went out and had a day off with the buddies insted heheh.

Some pics of the 1st crops C99, a few days before harvest-

The clones going into our 300w cab, "the beast", the 2nd crop-

A couple of pics I doctored, what the hell-

Stoner113,
What aspect of OG made it so searchable and easy to find from google and the like? And oppositely what aspect of this site makes it show up so low in the ranking?

OG probably put greater effort into spidering their site, just so it would show up high in the search engine list, as well as META keywords and the like. Google works off of how many links are activley linked to the web site and how many people use those links to get to the site. Which is why a lot of the times you get crap completely unrelated to the search you input. Basicly there isnt as many links to IC as OG, and the owners of this site have been lazy with PR or just want to remain semi-stealthy.

I think the site will gain traffic here in the next few weeks. Its that time for seed-grow outdoor growers to get theyre seeds goin and to plot their grows. Then pictures and new threads will come. We're coming out of that time of year where everyone is kinda idle, waiting on the season, except for the indoor growers like me & B.C. People will be checking in here soon with pre-season reports, be patient. If you build it, they will come! Just do all YOU can do to make the site fun, I know I am. And I also know its time to BLAZE!
Take 'er easy folks!

I know Im ready to get the grow on. Just got the seeds for my indoor in the mail the other day, got a sick new camera, and plenty of literature and other gadgets to play with.

*takes deep breathe*

Oh yes, this year will be a good one, I can smell it, I can feel it, and I can taste it. Just like when your on the sea, the salty smell and taste of the brine churned waters is unavoidable. Of course it could also be that Im smoking, and the room is quite cloudy. :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint: :joint:

Oddly enough Im getting really hungry too, must eat.

Ahhh sounds wonderful klaze, what didja order? Sounds like you have a great year lined up.. I know I'm excited for this year. Can't decide how soon I wanna start my beans for the season though! I know I want some pretty decent sized plants to put outside when I do.. Hmm.. :chin:

Thats insane you've alread got some outside SpacemanSplif! When do you plan on harvesting, and how big is it going to be? This seems crazy early to be having plants outside in the PNW..

Everyone else take it easy, and smoke well. Oh, and do drink well today too, I almost forgot it's St. Patty's day! Ayyyye laddies, whet'r ye waitin' fer! Lets go drink like micks!! :friends: What'll it be? I'm thinkin green brew for myself today.. Good ol' Beck's, or a Guiness maybe?

-0reganic.

I'll be harvesting from late september to late october. I hope to get a pound to a pound and a half per plant from 12 or 13 plants, and I'll bet they hit 10 feet tall at least. Actually, it's not that early to have plants started in Northern California. I know several others that have started already as well. The plants really don't mind the cold and wet that much, especially under shadecloth in a coldframe. It's consistently 10-15 degrees warmer in there. Even the snow only slows them down a little bit and causes a bit of purpling.
