Medejool, that's very kind! I will try to come down not this Monday but the next if that's ok? I have some seeds germing too, I want to take them out BackCountry style !
BackCountry, Thanks Bro! My greenhouse is a ways off yet but I could build a small one for the time being. I still have a roll of Poly to get me by.
Good news everyone. My first sprout popped about 10 days after putting them in soil, and now 3 weeks later I have 6 and theyre still coming. Never give up on seeds if you dont see sprouts, even after 3 weeks. Ill hopefully be down to my plot today getting some pictures. Any idea how quickly they will outgrow beer cups? I think Ill be able to tell when the time comes, any ball park though?
Hello all Northwest growers....I will be putting 3 ladies outside in the next few days. All are from clone. All have been under 12/12 for 2 weeks now. A question for all, will the still continue to flower or will the revert back to veg? No problem either way for me.
The strains....Phoenix(Nevills haze x SSH), Cherry x Hashplant(TRC), Gold Monkey(TRC) WW x Santa Maria Gold
Hide in plain site...these will be going along side an industrial warehouse complex. Behind a blackberry wall next to an unused warehouse.
Hopefully they will make it to the end....we will see.
if your in the northwestm, I'm pretty sure the light cycle will force it back into veg.... correct me if I'm wrong. Daylight is at about 15 hours where I am I think now?
So I visited my plot tonight, theres two more tiny sprouts so the total is at 8 so far... Heres a shot of the biggest, anyone know much about Canon PowerShot S30 digicam? Any way to set up for better macros?
JasonK, your root structures will grow faster than the tops of the plants they can outgrow a beer cup in about two weeks from sprouting. As for the camera I use a magnifying glass against the lens instead of macro. Just set the lens on the magnifying glass and use the zoom untill the preview picture is clear. I really liked my Cannon PowerShot but I think mine was a 25.
Bacchus, yep JasonK is rite. The light hours are too long now for plants to flower and they are just getting longer by about 5 minutes a day. Your plants might flower for a week or two but they will most likely revert back to vege after that. However if you were to do this same experiment around mid July you may end up with some very nice early bud. Once the plants are commited to flower any light under 14.5 hours a day will not affect that.
Good Luck both of you! I have a lot of seeds that are popped open and need to go in the soil now that the cable guy has come and gone. Looks like I'm going to be missing out on sleep again today Oh well it will be worth it!
hello all, im new to the site and very glad i found this thread seeing as im in the PNW myslef. I will be attempting my first grow this summer outdoors. I live near the puget sound so high humidity and a decent amount of rain throughout the summer. Is starting seeds in a small outdoor greenhouse a possibility??? and if so when should i germ? wish i could start inside but not an option until next year.
Hey Spaceman! Yep, I'm a daddy, and life will never be the same, but its good.
I'm setting up for a great outdoor season, so I'm stoked there. I was thinking of trying to bring this thread back to life, so many other regions are represented here, plus its good to see some old pals.
I'm actually thinking I might start a new thread, so that the title will grab more folks, something like "Pacific North-West growers: NorCal, Ore, Wash, and B.C."
BorisTheBlaze -Welcome to the thread! Do you know your last frost date?
BorisTheBlaze, I belive it will be a wet Spring and a wonderfully long Summer! We are following an El-Nino year . As for starting those seeds it depends on a couple of things, how big they can be when they are finished and how warm it is in that greenhouse. Some are well insulated and some are nearly as cold inside as it is outside. Size is the biggest factor though because if you can not finish a huge monster then you should wait untill the end of the optimal planting time like Mid May, but if you can grow them as big as they will get then you can start them a couple of weeks into April.
BackCountry, A new thread sounds awsome I'll hop rite on, I have not had much time for the computer lately. Didn't have much time for growing either but I have managed to get 3 to nearly harvest, 2 Purple Haze X G-13 Hash Plant and 1 Grapefruit Haze X G-13 Hash Plant. Here's a couple of pics.
thanks for the tips spaceman. now all i really need is the seeds. i have bag seeds but would much rather do my first grow with reliable genetics. anyone that can help me out with that plz PM me. Im looking for 20-50 seeds and i will pay a reasonable price
You would be surprised whith what bag seeds will bring, but you really don't know when they will finish. It might be worth getting a P.O. Box for a month. I had one at the UPS store but I think there is a contract for 3 months or something.
Just in time for spring planting I would add... Last yr I had several large beauties but only 1 variety finished by oct 10th... I want somethin done by Sept 1..
I got Mighty Mite and several crosses.. I also got Island Bud and Early Sativa... some biddy early, a couple of stuporsonic (about 4inches right now) mendicino madness, and a bunch other seeds... any suggestions from locals would be appreciated...
I bend and break my plants and tie them along the ground so size is a factor.. I have some corn I put some in but even there I have to bend the branches down if they challange the corn... I have a stinkin airport just a couple miles from whree I grow and last yr it freaked me out to be in the "garden" during daytime as there was ALWAYS a small plane 150 feet above me gettin ready to land!! ugh
Glad to have found this thread
I see it died about planting season last year. LOL... lets hope there are actaully pix through the season this yr...
