Intended as an information exchange for outdoor growers in the slightly extended Pacific North West Region. We all have similar growing conditions, early and rapid daylight shifts.

I have not decided on what I will be growing this year but my partner and I will be traveling out some forest service trails scouting hikeing spots and possibly locating some good fly fishing spots along the way.

Tell your story here and maybe make a few friends along the way.

Peace, SSSSpaceman SSSpliff

Coming in Loud And Clear, in high def, in The PNW.

well we hear are trying to decide what to put out this year, was thinking some Hindu Kush, GodBud,ECG, And so Random Bag seeds, who knows what else. all i know is i want it to be female if it is going to be put out by me. kinda trying to decide if i realy wanna venture outdoors for this. so much uncertainty with this game, compared to indoor. but i know if ya are successful in the bush then ya can have enough for the rest of the year.

When I used to do outdoor up in Alaska it was deffinately a light dep grow. We dug trenches and put them plants inside at night and covered with metal roofing. Or black plast over a greenhouse. That was the only way to get our plants to finish early enough before the fall rains.

I am in Oregon now and have been driving around all these logging roads thinking I must be able to hide a few plants around here somewhere.

Good idea for a thread.

Stoner133, Nice to see you Bro, of course BC is PNW. What do you have going in this year? Those Planck look lovely! Thanks for the message, I'm off to look her up. I looked around the greenhouse forum a little with no luck.

Pico, Alaska is rugged country, but holds so much beauty. I stayed a Summer in Delta Junction, couldn't immagine growing without some sort of shade cloth or black out material. Greenhouses up there would be ideal, and you can't beat the laws either, at least in this country. Where you are in Oregon, what are your growing conditions? There are many terrains in the PNW and many micro climates.

I am a decent drive from the Mckenzie River valley. There are a lot of logging roads over in that area that I thought might be a good area. Anyone have any experience over there?

SS-I have OR95, OR95X Northern lights, and OR95X C99, all going out starting soon if the weather keeps up the current warm trend.

I'm growing all from seed this year, no clones, I didn't have the facilities or time to tend clones this year, so I kept it simple.

I'm hoping to have 3-5 plots with automatic irrigaition, and lots of plants growing in naturally moist areas, like Haxixe did. I had some sucess with that style last year, but I can do much better this year.

I'm also working on a version of a self watering planter, the picture gives a rough idea of what it looks like, but my final design will have a more shallow resivour.

god damn those are some colorfull plants Backcountry.

I am interested in finding spots that are moist so I don't have to go water them. The Mckenzie River Valley has a lot of water so I was thinking over there. I checked out Ashland area and it was pretty hot and dry.

Yeah, the Willamette valley resembles Western washington alot more than the Rouge valley does, but good places can be found all over western Oregon. The top region for outdoor commercial growing is still the extreme SW corner of Oregon. Joesephine, Curry, and Coos county are just lousy with outdoor Cannabis, they are kinda like Oregons "Emerald triagle" if you will, not unlike Californias Humbolt, Mendocino, and Trinity counties.

For stand alone grows in western Oregon, I'd suggest looking on the coast side of the coastal ranges, and in the foothills of the Cascades, but isolated wet spots can be found in many places.

Also keep in mind that the McKenzie area is heavey used by recreationists, especially since it is wedged between 2 of Oregons largest population areas(Eugen/Springfield and Bend/Redmond).

Hey everyone.

Found this spot recently so not much work has been done yet.
Just uprooted alot of small plants, raked some leaves and mixed up the ground abit. (Those garden claws work great!)

Further down the hill the soil is mostly clay, but up here its pretty sandy.
I was going to add perlite, vercumulite, polymer crystals and time release ferts to the soil.

Going to use a few connected garbage cans uphill with a water timer, so I wont have to be there as often.
Also plan on hand watering with ferts later as they need them.

Any thoughts?

My batteries died so I only managed 2 pictures. :X

So has anybody run biddy early, mendiceno madness, early riser, mighty mite or crosses, Island bud, early sativa, stuporsonic, fast mabitoba, lethal purple, nigerean nightmare, DP Durban Poison.. Then I have some lowryder and some lowryder crosses I made last yr.. but I'm not counting those... cause they bud at a set time regardless..

I have 2 Stuporsonice seedlings right now, everything above I have in seed form... I can really only finish about 20 plants.... which of the above varietys are gonna be DONE by Sept 1 and have GOOD smoke.... I can't really go past the end of Sept.. Last yr everything was dead and the plants stuck out like a sore thumb.....

I'm on the coast.. lookin at the green river..

Peace brethren

I have no experience with any of those strains, but I doubt any of them would be finished Sept 1st in the PacNW, most of them would finish in September though from what I've seen, especially any of them with "early"(or fast) in the name. I've heared that Mendo. Mad. harvests early too.

I'd be leary of the Durban, I've seen it usually harvests in October.

Check the strainguide for more info.
