Had a great start to the season this year but the heat really cranked up and the rains tapered off... Still waiting on em...
No problem though, the plants haven't skipped a beat. Just about all the plots are in lowland type areas that retain lots of moisture. They rooted down into the perma-moisture and never let go! Got some trunks that are around 3/4-1 inch thick! Not too bad for a hot dry summer!
Plant-tone organic fertilizer on all but the track plots... No guano this year, the place I used to get it moved and it was expensive anyways... Paddi and a few other people recommend not fertilizing late in the season, just put in what you need at the beginning..
Most were started mid April and planted the last day of April. The track was planted at a little further growing stage around May 20. A year goes by faster than you think... The smells are in the air!
