Thanks! They're coming up well and are getting a little lanky right now due to shady site, but the spacing should be about right for them to not get too choked out. A few around the edges were kind of close because some of the small seedlings I was unsure of. I think it will be a heavy yielder this year!

Yeah if you get them too close together, they start falling over easier. The ones with some space are more happy and sturdy.

Watered until they were falling over. Ready to fertilize next week with top dress light rate Dave Thompson's Healthy grow 3-3-3 (chicken manure, feather meal, potash) and some cottonseed meal 6-2-1.

Got a good rain last night, quarter to a half inch! God's grace, we needed it really bad before this heat wave. Will get some more water put down Sunday. Will be great to have the plants watered mid week since its been dry and hot. Fertilizing with Healthy Grow and cottonseed meal before next watering. Going to be kicking into gear. Flowering starts in just a few weeks. :smoke:

Few more views from Sunday.

Psalm 4 NKJV

The Safety of the Faithful
To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.
1Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness!
You have relieved me in my distress;
Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.
2How long, O you sons of men,
Will you turn my glory to shame?
How long will you love worthlessness
And seek falsehood?
Selah
3But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly;
The Lord will hear when I call to Him.
4Be angry, and do not sin.
Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.
Selah
5Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,
And put your trust in the Lord.
6There are many who say,
“Who will show us any good?”
Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.
7You have put gladness in my heart,
More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.
8I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Psalms 5 NKJV

A Prayer for Guidance
To the Chief Musician. With flutes. A Psalm of David.
1Give ear to my words, O Lord,
Consider my meditation.
2Give heed to the voice of my cry,
My King and my God,
For to You I will pray.
3My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
In the morning I will direct it to You,
And I will look up.
4For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness,
Nor shall evil dwell with You.
5The boastful shall not stand in Your sight;
You hate all workers of iniquity.
6You shall destroy those who speak falsehood;
The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
7But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy;
In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.
8Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies;
Make Your way straight before my face.
9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth;
Their inward part is destruction;
Their throat is an open tomb;
They flatter with their tongue.
10Pronounce them guilty, O God!
Let them fall by their own counsels;
Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions,
For they have rebelled against You.
11But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your name
Be joyful in You.
12For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield.

Psalms 6 NKJV

A Prayer of Faith in Time of Distress
To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. On an eight-stringed harp. A Psalm of David.
1O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger,
Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.
2Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak;
O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled.
3My soul also is greatly troubled;
But You, O Lord—how long?
4Return, O Lord, deliver me!
Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake!
5For in death there is no remembrance of You;
In the grave who will give You thanks?
6I am weary with my groaning;
All night I make my bed swim;
I drench my couch with my tears.
7My eye wastes away because of grief;
It grows old because of all my enemies.
8Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;
For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
9The Lord has heard my supplication;
The Lord will receive my prayer.
10Let all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled;
Let them turn back and be ashamed suddenly.

Galatians 5 NKJV

Christian Liberty
1Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. 3And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. 4You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. 5For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
Love Fulfills the Law
7You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? 8This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you. 9A little leaven leavens the whole lump. 10I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.
11And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased. 12I could wish that those who trouble you would even cut themselves off!
13For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
Walking in the Spirit
16I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Got the plants top dressed with 3 lbs Healthy Grow and 7 lbs Cottonseed meal. Watered with about 84 gallons. Should be ready for the 90's all week. Going to get really hot later in the week around 95 for a 3 days! The volunteer ended up being male so it was removed. They had a bit of moisture in the ground still saturday from the rain thursday night, but they were ready for water sunday.

Plants are exploding with growth! Couldn't get them to fall over by watering so must have a good solid tap root going! :smoke:

Growing about half a foot per week now! :smoke:

Another day around 90F tomorrow. More rain chances Sunday and this week is going to cool off a bit. Can't wait to see how the plants responded to the watering. They are starting to get growing really well. Should be able to start to find some males after a couple weeks.

If preflowers can be identified at an early stage, the plants have time to fill in the gaps.

Rabbits cut a plant last week, so I pulled it. Hope they leave it alone. Put down some liquid fence, a little bit I had left, and the dogs and I were there for a picnic for several hours. Plenty of scent around the garden. Thats why you want to plant a little higher numbers. Rabbits have been an issue in the past.

I saw a couple rabbits running as I was driving around the field on the way back last week.

One of the best places for cannabis to grow, and its banned there.

Yeah bubblegum was developed here. When we are weak, we are strong with the strength God supplies, our help in a time of need. We are certainly blessed in all our persecutions, because God's light shines through, my friend.

Watering day. Heat wasn't as bad as forecast this week, only go up to lower 90's F, and it rained tuesday. May see rain again tomorrow with a little cooler weather next week. Going to be about perfect to grow up a strong crop! Stay tuned! Males should begin to be visible next week or 2!

Have a good one! :smoke:

Psalms 22 NKJV

The Suffering, Praise, and Posterity of the Messiah

To the Chief Musician. Set to [a]“The Deer of the Dawn.” A Psalm of David.

1My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?
Why are You so far from helping Me,
And from the words of My groaning?
2O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear;
And in the night season, and am not silent.

3But You are holy,
Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
4Our fathers trusted in You;
They trusted, and You delivered them.
5They cried to You, and were delivered;
They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.

6But I am a worm, and no man;
A reproach of men, and despised by the people.
7All those who see Me ridicule Me;
They https://biblehub.com/nkjv/psalms/22.htm#footnotesshoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8“He [c]trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him;
Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”

9But You are He who took Me out of the womb;
You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts.
10I was cast upon You from birth.
From My mother’s womb
You have been My God.
11Be not far from Me,
For trouble is near;
For there is none to help.

12Many bulls have surrounded Me;
Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.
13They [d]gape at Me with their mouths,
Like a raging and roaring lion.

14I am poured out like water,
And all My bones are out of joint;
My heart is like wax;
It has melted [e]within Me.
15My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
And My tongue clings to My jaws;
You have brought Me to the dust of death.

16For dogs have surrounded Me;
The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me.
They[f] pierced My hands and My feet;
17I can count all My bones.
They look and stare at Me.
18They divide My garments among them,
And for My clothing they cast lots.

19But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me;
O My Strength, hasten to help Me!
20Deliver Me from the sword,
My[g] precious life from the power of the dog.
21Save Me from the lion’s mouth
And from the horns of the wild oxen!

You have answered Me.

22I will declare Your name to My brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
23You who fear the Lord, praise Him!
All you [h]descendants of Jacob, glorify Him,
And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel!
24For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
Nor has He hidden His face from Him;
But when He cried to Him, He heard.

25My praise shall be of You in the great assembly;
I will pay My vows before those who fear Him.
26The poor shall eat and be satisfied;
Those who seek Him will praise the Lord.
Let your heart live forever!

27All the ends of the world
Shall remember and turn to the Lord,
And all the families of the nations
Shall worship before [j]You.
28For the kingdom is the Lord’s,
And He rules over the nations.

29All the prosperous of the earth
Shall eat and worship;
All those who go down to [k]the dust
Shall bow before Him,
Even he who cannot keep himself alive.

30A posterity shall serve Him.
It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,
31They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born,
That He has done this.

Psalms 23 NKJV

The Lord the Shepherd of His People

A Psalm of David.

1The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not [a]want.
2He makes me to lie down in https://biblehub.com/nkjv/psalms/23.htm#footnotesgreen pastures;
He leads me beside the [c]still waters.
3He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will [d]dwell in the house of the Lord
[e]Forever.

Psalms 24 NKJV

The King of Glory and His Kingdom

A Psalm of David.

1The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.
2For He has founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the [a]waters.

3Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
4He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
5He shall receive blessing from the Lord,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face. Selah

7Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
8Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.
9Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah

Ephesians 5 NKJV

Walk in Love

1Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

3But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5For [a]this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7Therefore do not be partakers with them.

Walk in Light

8For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9(for the fruit of the https://biblehub.com/nkjv/ephesians/5.htm#footnotesSpirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather [c]expose them. 12For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13But all things that are [d]exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14Therefore He says:

“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”

Walk in Wisdom

15See then that you walk [e]circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21submitting to one another in the fear of [f]God.

Marriage—Christ and the Church

22Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26that He might [g]sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30For we are members of His body, [h]of His flesh and of His bones. 31“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Psalm 27 NKJV

An Exuberant Declaration of Faith

A Psalm of David.

1The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?
2When the wicked came against me
To eat[a] up my flesh,
My enemies and foes,
They stumbled and fell.
3Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident.

4One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the https://biblehub.com/nkjv/psalms/27.htm#footnotesbeauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.
5For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.

6And now my head shall be [c]lifted up above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of [d]joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

7Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
9Do not hide Your face from me;
Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have been my help;
Do not leave me nor forsake me,
O God of my salvation.
10When my father and my mother forsake me,
Then the Lord will take care of me.

11Teach me Your way, O Lord,
And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.
12Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;
For false witnesses have risen against me,
And such as breathe out violence.
13I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.

14Wait[e] on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Went to water yesterday and the garden still had some moisture from last weekend and the rain on tuesday. Ended up getting a round of thunderstorms with about half inch of rain this morning! Will be great to help keep them moving! It had been drying for several days and was good to get some more water. God knows whats best. Going to leave them alone this weekend with watering.

Put down some Liquid Fence repellent and pulled weeds before the rain.

Was good I didn't water because we got a 30 mph wind and the plants may have been blown down. Also trying to promote better rooting by letting them have dry cycles this year. Had some root rot issues last year and saw lots of surface rooting. Starting to see some surface rooting and adventitous roots emerging from the base of the stem on some plants, so may have been a little wet some days. They like the air. Easy to overwater, but they grow fast when you water them deep. The key is letting them have period to dry out.

How about some views from the garden. 5th set of leaves and leaflets are over 2 inches wide!

Thankfully you can't fool everybody all the time. Truth and grace will always triumph over lies and corruption. God is good, and is a just judge, just have to wait.

Thanks, good to see you Shiva! Glad to see you stop by! Yeah we learned at the nursery to do everything the same way so its easier to get it done. Everything being organized facing the same way allows muscle memory to kick in and speed up the job. Makes it so you can get it done without having to think about it too much.

I like to have plenty of room to kick around too. We work hard but we like to play hard too. Military operation, have to have extra and be prepared. Got pretty strong doing these guerilla patches lifting water! I water for a couple hours by hand every week! Thankfully I don't have to walk it up the hill anymore! :smoke:

Was smart this year and did transplanting from the edge to prevent compaction. Going to do my best to do everything from the edge as an undisturbed patch. Will have to have a walkway through for inspections though, at least a place to stand. They have really good growth this year.

Just a few minor burn issues on a couple plants from the last top dress fertilizer last weekend. Everything looks like it greened up and got fed except a plant on the lower edge corner, which is doing fine.

No rabbit issues or any other pests, but still applied liquid fence repellent.

Was blessed with a pretty good rain Sunday morning, got 0.4 inch, so didn't need to water. Had chances this week but didn't end up getting more than a tenth or 2. Got missed several times, but thats alright. We have the water we need and sometimes it gets too wet when it rains a lot, and it can promote disease. More chances for rain this weekend, and later in the forecast, so hopefully I get a break from watering for a little while.

God is taking care of them! He knows exactly what they need. :smoke:
