Finally got a Dpapillon with greenpower bulb, the light is so damn crisp and bright. For those watts it's surprisingly bright and temperatures are more than great, 40cm below the fixture 25.5C in a 1x1m. I should've got that in the beginning of this run.

Have a nice weekend everyone and kudos to all who have contributed their knowledge to this topic. Stay safe!

where did u purchase your d-pap from? only ones i can find are marked up hella high...

Good luck. I am glad you are open to the scientific adventure. Please let us know how it goes.

Witch reflector is 1 of the best? I need to upgrade my old reflector. Green beams are at the top of the list but there also the most expensive.

Did you ever get any info from Advance/Philips as to whether or not they actually changed the igniter circuit in the ballast?

I'll be intetested in following your experiment. Maybe post a link if you end up doing a thread. And thanks bloyd for sharing your experience and saving me a possible headache.

I'm currently using a phantom in veg and am flowering some big plants with the sun system lec fixture trying to find how deep into the canopy the light penetrates before producing larfy buds.

Hey all. I've been away for a bit, but wanted to post the reply I got from Philips, and include the link for the updated spec sheet for everyone's perusal:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Sir,

Unfortunately the max distance from ballast to lamp is 6 ft per the updated spec sheet (link below), 6 ft is max no matter which conductor you use due to capacitance.

http://images.philips.com/is/conten...807_001-UPD-en_US-IZTMH-210315-R-01-10-14.pdf

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The sheet didn't tell me what I needed for my application, and they obviously didn't elaborate on capacitance, but I figured I'd include what they considered to be an updated spec sheet for everyone else.

Days earlier, I'd already mounted both of my ballasts directly to the socket leads just because it was so easy, and I like the ease/cleanliness of having a simple power cord being the only one coming out of it. I took a few pics along the way, and I'll post them when I get some time. Soonish, I hope.

Sorry, I did not get any specific information, and I don't know if they are just being cagey, or I have to ask a super specific question in order to get a reasonable answer. I had only asked if my specific type/length cable could be used, and I lost motivation (before they even replied) to dig further.

Do you have the email address that they give you when your issue goes over the techs heads? It has "rosemont", or something similar, in it. I can post it if anyone wants.

I was looking at Lumenmax as a larger/broader vertical-bulb option, but w/o seeing it up close I'm unsure of the reflective panels. It's a 1000w commercial fixture that comes in 3-packs, all unassembled and in one box. Their $280 retail, but I've seen deals that put them at ~$230 shipped; so that's <$80 each. They come w/o sockets, just a junction box, which I figured would be perfect for anyone wanting to make their own. (((Don't confuse it with the smaller, older Lumenmax reflectors that exist; the ones that are popular with aquarium folks)))

I thought of hanging them on a piece of black-pipe, allowing them to slide easily for adjustment on-the-fly, and just raising the pipe to the appropriate height. The pipe would also make for a solid mounting base for ballasts with a little hardware. Optimistically, one could cover a 3'x10' considering overlap. Just an idea.

I also thought of modifying a (SunSystem?) Silver Sun and modifying each panel slightly to get it a little more parabolic. Anyone wanting to go vertical-bare with a 315 might want to explore something like that (even unmodified) with an appropriately sized spacer/socket mount.

Definitely give your bulbs a dab at the tip (huh huh huh) if you go phantom. giving mine a dip helped loads. Don't have a pic and can't upload one for a few days, but picture a dime sized dollup and that should be about right. I used the product I linked a few pages back.

No problemo. Love this setup, although I will of course keep tweeking it until it's broken. Building some new tables with corrugated siding and hardware cloth stretched over with gutters for runoff. This is how I do my Dtw tables (minus the hardare cloth for bigger pots) and it rocks. Sump pump in the runoff basin and no more lugging buckets of runoff or dehuey discharge. Things are getting automated in ol' cheffy's kitchen!

I finally switched over to Sump pump feedings from Buckets. Makes my garden chores so much easier.

I'm going drippers from res to pots of coco on tables, runoff to gutters into bucket with sump pump to drainage field. In an ideal run, just filling the res a couple times a week. Now, how often is it ideal? Hahaha.

what bulb are you guys flowering under? My last run wasnt as dense as I would like. I am wondering if the philiips bulb i got with the sum system was the reason.
