Ok after reading this I have caved in. Shit you cannot beat the ease of wiring only needing to add 2 additional 15 amp lines to run 8 of these lights! I will be buying 4 phantoms to test out and a light meter. I am going with phantoms for one reason only and that is the option of air cooling. The Nano's price is very tempting but I see no way to air cool.

My main reason for holding out so long is that I am worried about killing all my seedlings again and having bad initial veg growth like I did with my 600 SE Gavitas. I am going to attempt to cover this problem by buying one of these:

From another thread:

Anyone happen to know what umol is safe for seedlings and small plants? I suppose I could use my light reader under a t5 which safely does seedlings and find out?

I believe phaeton posted that 300 - 350 μmoles was about right for seedlings.

Very nice room Huge :)..

When I tested the t5 I cant get any reading higher than 200 μmol.. I took readings across the length all where poor.. The 315 depending on how close I put the sensor I can get as much as 2000 μmol.. Massive difference between the 2. I like to keep the temps between 70-75f.. At 22" under the Gavita Hood I get 336 μmol at the top of the tallest plant. I get 188 μmol on the smallest plant. The closer I put it the hotter the plants get. I had to find a happy medium between the 2.. I'm thinking about putting the smaller plants under the t5 and the larger plants under the 315. I could never understand the #'s. Even though I would have readings in the 200 range in my flower room I would still have some of my best yields. Using Gavita I cant put the lights to close.. 36" was the closest I could go without damaging the plants.

I knew that was the wrong orientation for where it is. It could still be used like that by moving it to where the t5 is Orientation would be correct. There is no place to attach the rope ratchet putting it the other way. The rooms is 8x20 with a drop ceiling. It will work perfectly fine the way it is. These are small vegging plants for what I'm using it for rotating it wont improve anything.. If I was flowering I would have it in the proper place/orientation and in the other room. Thanks for the input though..

I've read that the Agro bulbs are best for bloom and veg. Can anyone confirm this from personal experience. I'm using a 4200k with an Agro in a 630w setup. Should I just switch exclusively to an Agro setup? Also, are the NanoLux buls even better than the Agro ones from Philips? The spectra analysis looks good and the price is the same for both. Just kinda feel bad I wasted mullah on the 4200k for purported better veg growth. Thanks.

Your not going to see any improvement using a 930 vs 942 IMO. I have both but don't flower with my CMH lights. Its personal preference... Phillips makes quality bulbs. No experience with Nanolux bulbs.

Hey PF, What do you flower with then? The room I'm putting together only has one 4x4 600 HPS for flower, but "4" CMH's (2x315 + 2x210) for flower. Reason is, I'm using a Gavita EL2 for one flower table "and" a 400 MH in my 2x4 veg tent. The EL2 has an output to run 120 or 240 volt accessories (timed), plus some other very useful stuff. I just need it to run my (CMH) lights (timed), and it makes for good comparisons between the two technologies.

I've used the Agro and the 930 T9 extensively, and think that the Agro perhaps has a slight edge. I've run them side-by-side in a 4x4 tent, and individually on consecutive grows in a 30x30, and seem to pull (very) marginally more with Agro. Then again, it could simply have been the luck of the draw with the plants, Murphy, and all of the other shit that plagues us.......

A 600w HPS 4x4 flower table and a 400w MH 2x4 veg tent. The 600 is in the same (open) room as the CMH's being used to flower. I'll throw some pics up in a week or so. Some items haven't arrived yet.

I don't flower with my CMH lights. All are used for veg onlly. They work way better than any t5 or 600mh IMO..

If I had to redo my flower room I would put all 315 in it. For ea 1k I could use 3/315. In my case that's 9 315 in a 10x12 space. You will be using less power and less heat..

yes sir. Ill be getting a pic today with both on.

just LEC on = 300-400 umol wall to wall at 3 feet from bulbs 1000 Ft2 coverage. for starting young plants

next to them is 600-700 umol wall to wall gavita

combined bounces from 850 to 1100 on my LiCor from wall to wall

what I like to call a multipurpous room.

Hi Huge - great looking room, can't wait to see what you do with it. What are the round port like objects in between the fans on the two walls? i thought maybe webcams but there are too many of them. CO2 inlets?
