I've been meaning to ask how folks are switching multiple 315's. What sort of "off the shelf" controllers are y'all using? I was thinking of something from Sentinel, since I've got their CHHC environmental controller on order.

I build my own so I haven't used one, but Beta pointed out the Sentinel HID-2 to me a while back and it looks like a very nice unit. It has a circuit breaker protecting it, programmable maximum temperature, programmable delay to eliminate hot starts and many other features.

i see that off the shelf 240v lighting controllers are made to accommodate 1000W lights and a 6 outlet controller would require a 30 Amp outlet. Would there be any issues/problems replacing the power cord with a 240v 20 Amp cord to run up to 6 315's?

Yeah, that's the one I was thinking about.

Where's the best (reliable) place to get the dimmable Philips from these days? I'm gonna run a couple of 210's for veg.

Again... stellar thread Rives.

with the whole kit it comes to 432 before tax and shipping, thats more expensive than the phantom. I got my phantom hood ballast and bulb for 399 before tax, came to like 430 out the door from the local hydro shop.

I was tripping, i clicked on two bulbs when adding it up the first time and didnt include the discount, so it came to 436, i just did it again and its at 363 for the ballast bulb and light, thats pretty good. After discount and shipping that comes to 356 with the complete setup phillips bulb included, not bad at all! like 6 dollars cheaper if u go with their bulb too.

When i bought my phantom system it came with bulb ballast and hood and was 430 after tax, like 74 dollars more. I dont mind payin a few dollars more if I can get something in the store right away cuz theyre cool with me returning it or whatnot if I dont like it, but if i woulda known about this i mighta ran with it instead, 80 bucks is more than a few in this case.

So, you decided against the D-Pap and the Greenbeams, Get Mo?

I've been bating this idea around - and with so many new products coming out...makes it hard to decide. ESPECIALLY, when a Greenbeams unit is just as much as a 1k Gavita - which certainly will produce better flowers.

Honestly, for $600...if I couldn't pull 1# off the thing...I'd be pretty disappointed. Even if it is still a "micro" bulb...

Obsoul33t says you can pull 1lb off a 315 covering a 4X4. I'm sure it would take some dialing but I know people can pull a fully off a 600 so not too far fetched.

Well with shipping the greenbeam would have costed me about 620, thats 200 more than the phantom and i know its a nicer shaped hood, but dont think it would make all that much of a difference. I still want to get a D-papillion but when i do I want to get the double and the only contact I could find selling them had them marked way up above list price.
So it was kind of a mix of price tag and availability, a shop in sac had an ok deal so I went ahead and copped it. Ima run with it for a minute in veg, see how I like it, and hopefully by the time my next harvest done the papillion makers will have they shit together as far as availability. Then I plan to switch to the double D for veg and throw this phantom in between my two gavitas in the flower room.
So far since i got it everything started shooting up dumbass faster than it was with my 4 light t5, should be enough to veg enough to throw under one of the gavitas, then have another table worth ready a month or so later, so I can have some perpetual action goin.
Thats the plan! Who knows, maybe these units will drop in price some more before I make my next purchase. If I cant get ahold of a double d I'll either get the dimlux 630 or lec 630, I like how the double d and dimlux have the ability to dim or go into overdrive, think a 4x4 veg dimmed to 85% would be about ideal for my situation.

I have the Nanolux 630 and am really pleased with it. I also have a Dimlux 630; but, don't think the dim or overdrive feature is worth the extra cost. I hope Nanolux can make a dimmable or with OC 630 unit. Hell, I'd love it if we could get 1kw CDM bubls and ballasts. That would be like, wow. That baby would beat a DE HPS any day.
