hey Fishywater try hitting tom @ATL up again if you need, he was really sick the last few weeks but he's getting caught up.

He called me and helped me with my transformer fuse issue- the ones that shipped with the transformers were just underrated for the current draw - need ~2A@250v per 315w to fire them all simultaneously

https://youtu.be/3nRqTMPOjvc
ATL video on these units - might be good to add to the overview

cheers

Hey, I'm glad to hear he is feeling better, I thought there was something wrong why he wasn't replying to me and some others on here.
I couldn't wait with my timeline and had to purchase elsewhere.

The difference between these 315's and the LEDs im replacing is pretty amazing...I have 2 now in my perpetual flower room, and my 2nd one turned up about 3 days before it was time to chop one, add one from veg and rotate the plants through the room...

I replaced the light that sits above week 1+2 in flower, so I can do a whole 315 flower cycle on the plant new from veg...But in those 3 days the increased vigor and health seen in the plant about to move on to the week 3-4 corner...made me sad to put it back under an LED...

I ordered another one tonight =)

There are some pretty cheap ways to implement full-range dimming control if you like to DIY and can use a voltmeter. A wall-wart power supply, a potentiometer, and a voltage-limiting resistor are about all that is needed.

If you want ready-made gear, here are some options. All of these should be able to control multiple ballasts simultaneously if that is something that you want to do.

$25 - http://www.ledsupply.com/led-driver...ount-control?gclid=CPCRgruXxcQCFQSRfgodp1QA5g

$50 - http://www.amazon.com/Lutron-DVTV-W...=1427345125&sr=8-2&keywords=lutron+diva+0-10v

$80 - http://www.bulbsdepot.com/ntstv-dv-wh.html?gclid=COyjptSXxcQCFYhgfgodAbUA_w

The 315 side of my flower rooms are pulling there wait. Harvested 3 of my Chemystry strains grown in 1 gallon bags and got 87g. The other 2x4 table of BDS Special netted over a # but were in 2 gallon bags. Yah.

Chemystry with 315's

Having now used multiple cases of these lamps in both colors, all debate has ended among our staff and the choice for flowering rooms is clear.

I'm not into the drama BTT and LP seemingly enjoy playing out all over these lighting threads. I've also grown weary of their amateur psychoanalysis and incorrect scientific conclusions. For folks approaching this subject professionally, feel free to message me and I'll share our observations. Here's a hint - while colorful and pretty, the bud pics posted by Ericos are a good example of why we won't flower with the lamps he used.

Please post them in an open fourm pr nodes. You dont have to feed into any negative inputs nor do you have to explain you observations and choice .but have them out there for the many to render there own opinion.please help the community as a whole.thanks

ghostmade, please don't help nr nodes to take this thread off topic (again). If nr nodes wants to keep his thing going, posting his conjecture, he should do as the OP asked and stop posting such in this thread. I for one did as the OP asked, and posted facts, here:

"UV-B & UV-A: Lamp ouptut and goal umol"
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=302671

I promise I won't correct him again in his own thread; no matter how rude he is to people or how wrong he is (like his post above yours about Ericos's flowers, where out of no where he starts up again).

While my pics arent the best and NM is loving my product! I still say to each there own on there choice of lighting! No two growers are the same nor techniques or strains.

My goal was reached with 315w and 860w cmhs I use so for me its a win :) I've hit my # plus per 2x4 with 630w per and then some with 860s, im always trying to advance and learn so the journey is still going.

If it works for u great! It works for me and my goals are reached. And the whole icmag family has help greatly with there own inputs and methodologies.

So....which side of the fence did you land on?

Its cool that some guys get right into their numbers, and the theory and science of it all... But until I see a fair side by side that actually shows a definitive difference... Then all it is is theory coz like... in the end if the difference is immeasureable the argument is invalid.

I run 930s coz thats what comes with my sun system lights and at 100 odd dollars per bulb, I'd have to be pretty convinced in order to make a change... Numbers on paper are great and the theory of it all looks sound and well thought out...but if it doesn't translate from paper into more buds convincingly...

Some people just like being right too.

Jesus, Gloomshade...

Does rives have to post again for this back and fourth to be stopped in his thread?! We all know nr nodes thinks 930 is the preferred choice based on his opinion, and I think 942 is based on sound facts, and I'm happy for nr nodes. Can't that be the end of it?! If not, let nr nodes make his own thread and stop this crap in rives's thread:

Actually I didn't know, that's why I asked....admittedly if I had gone back a few pages and read up i probably wouldn't have asked.

I kinda thought that this thread was actually the perfect place for the pros and cons of the 930 vs 942 debate... though after going back some pages reading through I can see there's a bit too much passion hitting the paper.

I'm not trying to pour petrol on a fire or anything...I'm actually legitimately interested.

I already have 2 sun system 315s, another in the mail, another i'm ordering in like 4 days...In the end I will have 4 in my flower tent and 1 in my veg... They all arrive with 930 bulbs, which I have no complaints about, compared to my mars II leds these things are magic.

When someone says, hey you reckon these 930s are good, check out the 942s they're even better - i pay attention.

I gotta admit the numbers, charts, graphs and science you're throwing out is damn impressive. I even understood some of it.

Being the simple guy that I am though, when my eyeballs start to bleed and my brain starts to hurt...I just wish for a photo of 2 piles of buds, one of them being better than the other =)

Mind you there's enough compelling data on the table that I'm already trying to find an Australian online seller of the 942s to make my own comparisons, bit hard to call it a side by side though, in a perpetual 2 weeks apart.

It's unfortunate that lighting seems to be a trigger for many growers to get incredibly defensive about their favorite light source. It doesn't really matter what the technology is - we've seen it in LED vs HID, MH vs HPS, etc, etc. In fact, they've all got their place - that's why they all still have market share. Understanding the science behind what makes them work is the best way that we presently have to evaluate light sources without being forced into doing rigorously controlled side-by-sides for every possible permutation, and the steadily-increasing knowledge base continuously improves this methodology.

The downside to this approach is that we can easily be sucked into attempting to pick the fly shit out of the pepper, and there are some substantial anomalies that aren't explained well by our current understanding of plants and their use of light. This is when information gathered empirically becomes very valuable, but it should be understood that the results that one person achieves may not be found universally.

Now, if we could just figure out how to share all of this information without the mandatory dick-measuring that accompanies it.....

Sorry if i ruffled any feathers, I'm just trying to gain more knowledge on lighting thro7gh peer based reviews and outlooks.there are very few time when i feel the need to ask a randoms opinion . If people would just have a better attitude. not the I'm right you're wrong attitude will make the internet such a better place

Reader might note that none of this has been shared the the icmag community at large. Without actual data, critically reviewed by peers, of how much value is it? It is easy and common to get a small group of people you have power over to think like you. I.E. Jonestown. Its a little harder to get a group of peers to agree.
I'm not into the drama BTT and LP seemingly enjoy playing out all over these lighting threads.
It is left for an exercise for the reader to see who started drama and how and when. And the restraint shown when that drama started.
I've also grown weary of their amateur psychoanalysis and incorrect scientific conclusions.
but not quite weary enough to actually stop being bothered to post or actually engage or contribute.
For folks approaching this subject professionally, feel free to message me and I'll share our observations.
All the "pro" readers who want the 'secret inside scoop that only mr nodes and his clan know' please contact him. The rest of us are stuck over in shared information exchange with peer review land.

Dear reader; mr nodes grows way better than Ericos. you can tell by mr nodes pics. See attached. Also you might feel that it is kinda a dick move to call out a growers bud pics. And you would be right. It might tell you a bit about mr nodes.

I don't know. I think BTT posted some good info, don't you think? Ya, he got a little distracted with the personal stuff, but the raw info was good. Just reread it with your 'human drama' filter on high and see what you think.
Sorry if i ruffled any feathers
see thats what a polite, kind, and thoughtful person says. note that you have ~885 posts. mr nodes has less than 1/10 of yours. also he does not say sorry.
So really this is about one posters drama. you just are the latest victim.
But keep posting and looking for that info. you'll find it. you might even find 'secret info'
