well i ordered 6 more west coast sour seeds from twenty20 and i got 2 more femme fatale seeds. the last femme fatale i grew hermed but i also stressed it out. the first femme fatale was incredible.
but i am a little disappointed they sent me a white seed with the west coast sours. i was only supposed to get one femme fatale and i got two so i guess that kind of makes up for it, but i would never send someone a white seed if they paid for it. oh well.

going to start 2 of these now. i decided the afghan kush from seeds mafia doesnt hold up against chemdog and legend and femme fatale and sour, so those are my keeper moms, once i pheno hunt through the sours and femmes.
right now i have bluishberry #1 going on round 2 of flower and 5 more bluishberries triggered from seedlings. one male so far to make f2's.
then either get feminized spray or find a male in my chem x hashberry or chem x assorted chocolates and start making crosses with the moms i mentioned.
this pheno of afghan kush i just chopped is just straight lemon which is nothing special to me but it does have a great high.
other two phenos dont look very impressive but one has a really nice pine smell so maybe i will reveg that one.

ghs chemdog day 38. also recently got fresh hepa filters for my blue air filter. last batch the middle buds are tastiest, so i think if i can avoid burning her with the light and with fresh filtered air this should be even better than the last batch that i think had some light stress.

just a photo of the crinkle i am seeing on my legend og. this was a freebie seed from blumburn seeds, and i did not expect it to even be worth growing, but i think it might be pretty spot on. there were two seeds and the other one was a tutti fruity smell and taste that was bland. but this one is pure unleaded gasoline, and like a mandarin orange and earthy. no pine or lemon or anything like that (edit: i just did some defoliating and there's definitely some pine in there, with some b.o. funk that is where i get the orange from, kind of like cali-o or orange crush, but like a citrusy rind with pine and body odor and gasoline). it really reminds me of 707 headband but more earthy. i was surprised to see crinkly leaves and i have to my knowledge never had the clone only legend og, so not sure how mine compares, but it is top shelf old school kush.

in the back is a seed that sprouted from the gran champagne after i reused the pot and tried to reveg. i dug the seedling up and put it in a solo cup and it stalled for like a month but then started growing and now it is going gangbusters. it reminds me a lot of the gran champagne mom but i call it champ jr.
not sure if its a selfed seed or stray pollen from the afghani autoflower or something else. but def gran champ dominant.
in front of it the bushy thin leaf plant is "the unknown", a seed that rolled off my lap when i was mailing seeds to a friend. it is probably a cheese backcross or chem x hashberry but it smells dank like cheesy.

also my two west coast sours are doing fine. need more light in veg but they will be fine.

chemdog day 49 ish. i had the light dimmed on accident the first four weeks and i noticed half the pot was light when i rotated it last night, but as far as quality this one will be better than last batch. i had too much light last batch. hopefully i get as big of nugs and total yield as last batch but the smell and flavor will be better. this one also has had a fresh hepa filter half its life. this is from a seed from greenhouse seeds so its not 100% like chem 91 or whatever, but it doesnt start fattening up until after day 56 so will see what happens. this is only my second run of anything in the 2x2 with viparspectra 150watt so not sure what the setup can do but i got 4 zips last plant in the other tent.

bluishberry #1 seeded with f2 seeds. i really like the bud and branch structure on the second run. the first run it was cramped and in a small pot with 2 other plants in a 2x2. this one had the biggest buds and most blueberry smell. day 39.

chemdog day 63. going to chop at day 72 this time. day 69 i think was too early and 76 was too late. but this time i had the light dimmed through the first four weeks of flower on accident. last time i stressed it with too much light. so this time i think there will be better flavor but smaller buds. im about to throw the legend into this tent and keep the light on 100% and try to get as good of results as i get from my bigger tent with three lights but one plant in this tent with one light.

west coast sour seedlings. one is shorter than the other and smells stronger like dank. i still have four more seeds if one of these two isnt a good sour diesel.

legend og in veg exploded after i added the dollar tree training bra. about to replace the chemdog in 9 days.

the viparspectra is the best light i have of 6 lights including a spiderfarmer and some cheaper lights
i want the new version with the lenses on the diodes. cant beat it for $90
i just trimmed the chemdog and under the single viparspectra dimmed down on accident i got smaller buds but i still got almost 4 oz i think. i havent weighed it but i have 5 jars. usually about 3/4 oz per jar i think.
it came out terpier for sure this time. as youll see in these photos my other tent has been getting too hot. this has been the first week using air conditioning and now i need to figure out my environment for summer.

chemdog first day curing, the batch from the viparspectra. chopped at day 70 because i hot heat stress and didnt want to lose the terps. def terpier than the last batch that was heat and light stressed:

west coast sour. two seedlings, the one on the right i labelled to keep an eye on because it smelled more like diesel. now the leaves look more like the sour diesel i grew until 2010. i still have four seeds if it isnt up to expectations though. i also started using cannabis leaves for mulch. i havent seen a lot of bugs lately and i have too many leaves and theyre fan leaves so not great for medicine. free fertilizer. so that might be why it is a little darker.

the third part of the holy trinity, the legend og i got as free seeds from blimburn. one under the viparspectra for less than a week, and one a couple weeks into flower in the 3x3 with morning glories growing from a solo cup next to it

and my strain, bluishberry f1 with f2 seeds. it's ready to chop already at day 51. i must have had light leaks and all kinds of issues last run. second and third runs are always better, but i dont have any more clones of her, because now we search through the f2s for that blueberry smell and good yield to make f3s and then i will release her to the world.

and another freebie, two apple fritters from blimburn in the same 7 gallon. not too invested in this one just flowering them out one and done. hasnt been happy at all in flower i think i put it in some weak soil but its all good. i want to focus on chemdog, legend, and sour, and my own strains.

just a new photo of the west coast sour that i labeled because it smelled stronger of the two and now to my eye it looks more like sour diesel every day. i wont know until i grow it out and i have another one plus 4 more seeds but it looks like sour diesel to me and the bigger leaves look spot on for chemdog also. stem rub smells like chemdog also. other one doesn't really have a smell and so far to be honest with my twentytwenty mendocino varieties ive gotten one really amazing one and always had a weird random one. so i think that is the case with these two, one with a good sour diesel expression and one different one.

my bluishberry #1 (blueberry cupcake x mac 1 x luxors hashberry) now harvested full of bluishberry f2 seeds. now to pheno hunt for f3 and call it a strain!

it was done on day 56 this time with lots of amber.

it is getting more and more crinkly so i think i got a good pheno.

I really Enjoy following your updates! You put alot of effort into your posts, with Great explanations, and loads of pictures!

I took a break from my Basement grows and moved. Just doing a personal outdoor tent for Summer here in Michigan. Still smoking on last Summers Outdoor. I told my wife I am gonna put a small tent in the storage room, she was reluctant because she thinks I'm gonna go Hog Wild and take over the whole house (again... hehehe!) I assured her I was just going to stick with a 2.5'x5' Max for 2 or 3 plants. Only stipulation is NO Smell! I can handle that!

been dealing with thrips on my legend og but they seem to be drawn to it exclusively so far
gotta get some more soil and fertilizer soon so will put up fresh sticky traps. sprayed a couple times on the one thats only 3-4 weeks in but im not spraying anymore. just been picking off the leaves that show their feeding marks.

bluishberry day 70. starting to show some amber but gonna give it til day 77. this one has some nice spears so hopefully it also has some good f2 seeds on it. i have hundreds of the bluishberry #1 f2 seeds now. this is bluishberry #7

apple fritter day 45 also starting to show amber but giving it til day 51 at least probably day 56

i think im gonna get some buildasoil craft blend and some coast of maine rose and flower soil. and some more neptunes harvest. ive been building a motorized bicycle because i dont have transportation and thats been taking all my time and money plus still have lyme disease but its time to focus on the plants.
i got some dispensary weed and smoked it for a few days and i got sicker, started smoking my chemdog again and immediately felt better. the fact home grow isnt allowed where i live and youre forced to buy dispensary weed makes growing a medical necessity. i am not medicated from that dispensary crap. i end up smoking like a whole eighth in a day and i dont even get properly medicated. when i smoke my homegrown i only need like a joint a day.

the unknown day 20. smelling floral now. it was smelling medicinal like mothballs or cough medicine or something from your grandmas medicine cabinet but now it has a really sweet floral smell that is really nice so i took some cuttings

bluishberry kush is now on day 0 flowering. that is a mystery seed from bluishberry #1 x unknown pollen donor.

twenty20 mendocino sour diesel #1 clone has taken root and the mom will be in flower when i pull the apple fritter.

keeping my lights dimmed for the heat wave this week and half of them are close to finished anyway.

some veg photos. dont mind the bugs. gotta work on pest management but it is that time of year.

first my homegrow cloning gel. i have just been taking cuttings and dipping them in a piece of aloe i cut off fresh and then put them in a solo cup with a plastic baggy to trap the humidity around the stems with the tops sticking above the plastic. then when they start to root i put them in a solo cup with soil with a bag over them for humidity for a couple of days.

gran champ jr. i think this is a male but it only has preflowers but no white hairs anywhere. smells like the gran champ mom. dont know the father.

twenty20 mendocino west coast sour. the shorter pheno smells more like diesel. also had it bent over with the dollar tree wagon wheel scrog screen but took it off for the photo and going to work on training it but its going into flower in a few daze.

these are all chemdog.

and sour diesel shorter pheno. first rooted clone. labeled sour #1 because i think this will be a good pheno but never know until she flowers out!

going to top dress everything as soon as i get some more soil and bury the leaves i used for mulch. they encourage fungus gnats and i still see thrips and their eggs that i need to deal with. i think i might try plastic sheeting for a mulch layer maybe. the leaf mulch was an experiment and it wasnt that bad. i think it will supercharge the soil once i top dress.

i water almost every day and the soil does get dry on the surface because i usually only use about 1/4 gallon per pot when i water, but sometimes i let them get dry for a couple days and do 1/2 gallon, especially when im fatigued lately. i am using 7 gallon pots. i will probably be up to 10 gallon pots by 2025 lol. they definitely are using all the root space by the time they go into flower. they tend to get underwatered in veg. i have been pulling 3-4 oz on a good sized plant from chemdog and gran champ.

just waiting on some funds for pest management and soil and fertilizer and need to invest some elbow grease into training and transplanting in the next week or two. but i dont have spider mites or anything so its not too bad. i dont mind smoking a bug every now and then. better than smoking pesticides.

i just ordered some stonington blend from coast of maine. its been on my shopping list for like 2 years but i always ended up getting one of their cheaper more general purpose soils. i also ordered some more fish & seaweed and rose & flower from neptunes harvest.

they introduced a new legalization bill here and home grow for patients is included in the bill so hoping that passes.

now i need to do some training on these sour diesels. i am excited about this round because i had small plants last round just to get rid of some seeds i had and narrow down my stable. so "the unknown" and bluishberry kush are gonna be nice and big this time, and the sour diesel, should fill up my 3x3. gotta start training the chemdogs for the round following that. 6-8 zips of chemdog would be a wonderful thing!

and working on dealing with pests.

my timer for the 3x3 stopped working for some reason. i had to manually activate it the past two days. but i have the veg area on a timer so just gonna swap that one out.

here is the side of the 3x3 with the unknown and bluishberry kush. this tent is gonna be full once i put the sour diesel in there.

my favorite strain is bubba kush i grew around 2005. right now chemdog is my favorite. i think it is the best strain i have found for ptsd. i read a long time ago that combat vets were able to overcome their trauma from the smell of diesel fuel from tanks by smoking chemdog and changing that smell into a positive thing. it completely balances me out, very meditational. real og kush does that also, the piney lemony earthy stuff but i havent seen it in a long time. here everything labeled as og has that musty cardboard smell. the legend og i have smells like pure gasoline like 93 octane with a citrusy orange smell. it reminds me of when youve been working on a car and you have gas and oil on your hands and you wash them with that orange hand cleaner gojo stuff. it also has a meditational high. so i think what i have read about legend being og crossed with chemdog is probably true. sour diesel is also up there in my favorites, i used to grow it until i got busted in 2010 and all i could think about was losing my prized genetics. sour diesel used to make the dankest dry sift hash that would stink up a whole room just from opening the bag. the sour diesel i had was foxtaily, lanky, and low yielding, but pure fuel and what i used to call garlicky fish batter, but now that i have my chemdog i heard someone refer to that smell as being like a pencil eraser, and that fits. i hope i get a pheno like that in these west coast sour seeds from twenty20. i learned how to grow in california in 2004 when the very first dispensaries opened, and i used to get a lot of stuff from humboldt and oregon. however, what i am searching for is something that has a pure happy uplifting high. one time i got some mexican sinsemilla back in the day that was lightly compressed, neon green, orange hairs, and it was a pure happy high and tasted like sweet candy, just like sugary. i grew something like that when i moved to colorado from a bagseed and it was just a pure happy summer time high. i called that one "summer time kush" but now i think it must have been a haze. i think the mexican happy stuff i had might have been colombian red. im hoping i can find something like that or unlock it with the thcv from the luxors hashberry and the bluishberry seems promising, so i need to keep popping those seeds and searching. one strain i do not like is trainwreck. for some reason i just do not enjoy the flavor or the high, but most people love it. i wish i could remember the names of some of the strains we used to get, there was one i think called blue lotus or something lotus, and it was more on that happy spiritual tip. that was around 2005. i think golden goat might be on that happy spiritual side of things, or reclining buddha. nowadays all you can find is cookies and cake type stuff here but the chem family is still available, like gorilla glue, stardawg, etc.
i definitely need a variety, but right now chemdog is my go-to. this pheno was the last seed i popped from a pack of 6 from greenhouse and 3 of those had the same structure but not the smell or flavor at all. two of the seedlings got eaten by a rat or a mouse and those were probably dank lol. i had given up on greenhouse completely because all my cheese seeds from them were duds and the chems were all random, so i had to reveg the chemdog when i realized it was a real chemdog. a few of the cheeses had the smell and the one i made seeds with had a really happy and medicinal high that instantly killed headaches, but they all made small buds, so im working through my cheese backcrosses to develop a good producing and cheesy cheese. ive grown real skunk back in the day and that one was similar in high to the cheese. really heavy indica, eyelids weighed down. who knew skunk would be so hard to find now. ive had real catpiss also and i think that was another skunk variety, i always thought skunk created blueberry, catpiss, and cheese, so thats why i got seeds for cheese and chemdog, to try to bring out all of those old school flavors out of the genetics. i also really enjoyed orange crush when i grew it, and cali o was really good back in the day.
so as of right now out of my stable i would say chemdog, but i am hopeful to get a good sour diesel. i gave up a long time ago on bubba kush ever coming back into my life, but twenty20 mendocino's femme fatale is the closest thing ive grown to bubba kush since then.
one time i grew a plant that smelled exactly like tuna. i thought i had fed my cats and didnt wash my hands or something, but i flowered it out again and it smelled exactly like a hot tuna sandwich. i didnt keep that one for obvious reasons lol.
ive grown master kush also and it was so strong after a hit or two it was actually difficult to smoke more because it was so intense and narcotic.
but chemdog never disappoints. i could smoke chemdog for the rest of my life. i really like this legend og but i would love to have a more lemony piney one like sfv og or triangle kush. i think legend has more of an old school gassy earthy flavor.
oh and 707 headband. i grew that in colorado and a guy begged me to grow in his garage and said it was the best weed hed ever smoked. it was like chemdog and og and sour diesel combined.
what about you? what part of the spectrum of cannabis does your brain and palate gravitate to?
