Peak Seeds Cinderella 99 (C99) Grow

Looking good. I love how this strain bulks up in the last two weeks.

I remember being disappointed toward the end of my PSBC C99 grow, the buds were beautiful and frosty but small. Then they just exploded and ended up needing support.

Currently wake'n'baked on Cindy through the dynavap. Gonna be a good day. :)

Thanks for stopping by, H.G. Griffin! I'm wondering, how long did you let yours flower? I'm also curious about your opinion on the quality of the different phenotypes you may have encountered.

I was lucky and only ran a few seeds to find my keeper pineapple. Never had a bad pheno, but I love the pineapple girl. She runs close to 60 days to really finish.

Here's the #2 clone at 8 weeks:

I think she needs a few more days to flower before harvest. I'd like to see some more hairs die back, although there appears to be a small percentage of amber trics forming.

Week 9 of flowering - harvest day!

Week 9 of flowering - harvest day!

Hey everyone! I let Cindy go for a full 63 days to make up for about a week lost when my PH was too low for the plant to uptake nutrients - it seemed to put flowering on pause for a bit. PH problems aside, true flowering time on this one would be about a week less. Although she shows a few trichomes going from milky white to cream/light yellow by week 7, it is very few - less than one percent. Letting her go almost two weeks past that date resulted in about three times as many like that - still quite a bit less than 5% by my estimate. I have not seen any trichomes get darker than yellow. Given the small numbers, I don't think it will have a negative effect on the "up" high.

She ended up quite frosty, with about 50% of the pistols died back, and the buds that were less than 3" from the light "fox-tailed" and ended up stacking calyxes and swelling some of them huge to almost pea size.

Here's a manicured bud:

Most of the first sub-optimal grow of this pheno was corrected this round - she was significantly bigger than the last time. She ended up physically resembling what I consider to be typical for a real C99 - a frosty low/medium yielder with thin stems. That makes me hopeful that her high will be significantly better than it turned out in the first round of growing.

It's got a nice sweet and syrupy pineapple smell to it - the terps have definitely improved from low/moderate to moderate ones. With a good cure, it should improve to moderate/strong terps.

We shall see - stay tuned - I will update after drying, curing and smoke test.

Looks real tasty. Looking forward to tasting notes. Always fun to read and live vicariously, like a contact high. :D

Happy and healthy wishes to you.

Hi jjonahjameson - thanks for the well wishes. I'm doing good - I hope you and yours are doing well.

You have good timing, because I just did the three week cure smoke test.

I took this delicate little bud that weighs about a half gram:

Broke it up:

And put half of it into this new little pipe, making it about a 1/4 gram sample:

After I had blazed it I was pleasantly surprised that the ash was nearly white:

It was only flushed for a week and it's leaves had faded only slightly at harvest, so I worried about how the cured bud would be effected. Turned out - not bad at all.

Moving back to the beginning for purposes of this smoke test, the terpenes upon opening the jar smelled like pineapple and were of medium strength. The cure did not kick the strength of the terps up a notch as I had hoped, but the quality of them was quite nice.

Upon burning, the taste was a combination of pineapple and what I've described as a tartness in the smoke report I did for the first grow of this clone. So, the taste did improve over the first grow in which I couldn't detect the pineapple, only the tartness. I also detected a slight licorice taste following the pineapple and the tartness upon exhale.

As for the high, it was mostly a creeper, with some more subtle effects noticeable immediately.

Immediately upon exhale, I noticed all traces of mental stress were eliminated, my vision seemed more focused and my body felt a bit lighter.

About five minutes in I felt an energizing buzzy cerebral effect

Five minutes after that, the buzz ratcheted up in speediness and prevented me from doing math when I was trying to calculate sunrise/sunset times, but had the opposite effect verbally in a conversation I had with my friend - it made me talk a lot!

That was the high for the next nearly three hours - it pushed me into happily completing all kinds of chores around the house.

After I had barely noticed the high had ended about three hours later - I toked up the second half of the bud to similar effect!
