What's new

Payne Farms 2016 greenhouse / outdoor run

Well, sorted out my bangi haze males. Ended up with quite a few which was very happy news to me (males are really what I am currently hunting)

have 2 I have narrowed down to. Both are very vigorous, and good node structures. The difference thus far is the smell, one is much more skunk and pungency. The other is more sweet, fruity, crisp? smelling almost. I will either open pollinate with both, or if one shows me something better, I will just be playing it by ear.

Females will be:

Slymer golden ticket
Super Qrazy #1 (best female) bred by bigworm6969 (qrazy train x superstitious)
Dog Kush bred by breeders boutique/ DST (OG Kush x RP headband)
Cherry pie clone only
Grape Ape clone only
Wet Dreams (bohdi dream lotus x delicious seeds critical sensi star bred by hemlock)
Grand master kush #2 bred by treemansbuds - Grand daddy purps x master kush)
jillanje bed by Mohican - African landrace mulanje x TGA jilly bean)

Whew, busy as day here on the farm. Spent a few hours behind the tiller, getting the west garden space totally tilled nice. Got it so fluffly, and light. Tilled in some neem seed meal, humic acid, Azomite trace minerals, crab meal, kelp meal. And then planted the first 3 female bangi haze females into the ground, with some mycos, and beneficial microbes. then mulched very thick with some straw.

Got my strawberry crowns planted, got my potatoes planted, got my onions planted, then weeded the corner of the garden that already has potatoes plants in it, then mulched that area as well. Got tomato cages are 2 of the 3 bangi hazes, ran out so will need to get another one. I pounded in 2 small tposts per 8' bison cage, will be getting 10' rigid EMT to pound it to get the cages really strong. Will need to cut some hand access holes, but pretty happy to have stuff in the ground.

Tillin work!

picked these to go based on stem side, stem smells, branching, vigor, and general health. I didnt water them today knowing I was planning on planting so little on the droopy side. Watered in some aloe juice.

So, after seeing the panama red and the malawi grow up, I have decided to take the time and the effort, and light dep them instead of running them indoors. They are stupid vigorous, and have outgrown seeds planted 2 weeks before them by 6 inches and a dozen nodes. They smell in-fuck-ingcredible. Like serious. Amazing. They want the sun, they need the sun, and Im gonna give it to them! Im going to get a greenhouse built, thinking 7 wide, and 60 or so long, and get them into 30s and give em another month veg outdoorr, then start pulling tarps. I will also do a guatemala or two with them.

The leaves on the panama and malawi that i have grown didnt start showing typical thinner sativa type leaves until flowering.
Beautiful plants by the way. I also start mine in grow bags, cheap and reusable

Normally I have to slowly give the ladies sun, but the malawi and panama red were praying, and haven't stopped since going outdoors. I ended up moving them fully into the greenhouse, the first 15 have been up potted to 3 gallons. as soon as my current indoor flowerr cycle is done, I will up-pot them all into 18 gallon Rubbermaid.

Its 81 degees and full sun today, easily 100 degrees in the greenhouse. And All I can, is sativas are meant to be outdoors lol. They love the sun!

The malawi and panama reds are starting to show sex, I am really hoping to see a large selection of male malawi, as I really want to pass on some super sativa potency! Both strains are showing so much potential, reek in veg, and very vigorous. @dubi did such a fine job with these!

Kinda wondering opinions from ya guys...I want them to finish around 7 foot tall, what size would you guys venture guess outdoors what size to let them get to before flipping them, and what size pots would you guys recommend for that?

They are all easily 15 inches tall, topped 2 times, in 3 gallons. I was kinda thinking 30s, and aiming to start pulling tarps june 7th, giving them another 3 weeks or so of veg outdoors. I imagine that will give them another 2 feet of growth, and I will focus on topping the shit outta them to bush out, and halt vert. growth. The way the summers are here and the greenhouses, I imagine I will definitely be duplicating the high heat environment they are used to, and really hoping to see them SHINE.

I put my light dep plants in 45's and 65's, and they can't get any taller than 6ft-ish. I would put them in a 65 min, and flower them around 3-4ft. They will stretch a ton for sure, how much is anybodies guess.

Really looking forward to seeing what you can do with the Panama reds.

Yea, I be worried in something that big there would be controlling the malawi! They are reported to get massive.

Mind posting some pics of your setup? I am curious to see how your doing it?

5 Bangi haze in the ground now! this was the last one I had still in 1 gallon and it hasn't shown sex, which usually seems to mean female. Anyway, got it in the ground and mulched. Will keep a close on to make sure its female.

This is from last season. This year I added a row of pots down the middle. Some 65's, and those are doing a little better than the 45's.

gorgeous greenhuose setup my friend! what size is that? Looks a little wider then I was planning, but I can see the merit in doing 2 rows, instead of one. Might be even better just to get some pvc instead of using my game fencing.

What are the dimensions of that greenhouse? Its basicaly just a hoop house right? The fan in the picture is just to move the plants a little bit or does it serve as ventilation?

Beautiful plants, Paynefarms, what elevation are you at? I'm south of you at 7500 and we're still getting some snow and nighttime is close to freezing. How are the Bangi doing?
