Heres my southern hemisphere Panama just starting to flower with purple in it? This pheno has really thin leaves as opposed to me other small one with wider leaves.

I also have another one that isnt in flower yet thats alot smaller, it got eaten/topped by rabbits very early on and just never recovered well.

hey i am going to be placing a seed order as soon as i have the money and wanted to ask any old school growers who have grown out or smoked ace/CBG panama and also smoked the original panama red from the 70's. how do they compare is it basically the same thing and would you be able to tell the difference. the reason i ask is cause i saw some posts that said it had a little body to it and saw some wide leaves on some of these indoor pics(which im hoping is just there environment). im also getting CBG's punta roja and only wanted the panama if its truly pure panama/panama red cause it will finish outdoors here. thanks i really appreciate any help you can give me!

i dont doubt its really good i just wanted to know how it compares to the panama red from the 70s. im already getting punta roja and just wanted panama since it can finish outdoors but if it doesnt have the same high as the old panama red then ill just halfto wait till i can grow punta roja indoors. Thanks for the response!

Panama Red from the 70's was badly cured brick weed. And it was 35-40 years ago. Hard to compare. I would put it this way : If you grew Ace's Panama back in 1970's , it would have been legendary for those people that smoked it. It certainly is similar and in my opinion, far better to have the freshly grown properly cured product. Ace's Panama is very excellent, it will be super great if you can do it outdoors or indoors. You will be very happy, very excellent sativa effects.

Actually you are wrong about that Panama Red being badly cured brick weed back in the 70s. I don't doubt there were imitations of Panama Red back in the day. People fake shit all the time. People in my town have tired to pass off weed they call "Thai Stick". All it is was long weed buds(home grown mids) wrapped with string to imitate the original Thai Sticks. My father which was in the Army was over their during the war in Panama during a deployment and smoked actual pure red buds which they called Panama Red bud. Ace seeds does have a have a Red pheno of Panama but is rare. I have grown 2 none being red yet. Dubi said running a 10 pack of Panama's outside will usually reward you with the special red pheno. Which is why I can't wait to move so I can grow massive trees of Aces products . I really enjoyed my Panama I grew but I wouldn't even put it in the same category as Ace's Malawi or Oldtimers' Haze. Still waiting on my Ace's Green haze to finish, 23 weeks now, 4 weeks of straight 10/14 and still needs a month.

It compares to what I had late seventies, which was a reddish looking Oaxacan. They called it 'mohawken' but it had to be Oaxacan or Michoacan. Sadly I never got to try Panama Red but had a bit of the Colombians. Red, gold, and green. Three different kinds. The ACE gear is from those general genetics, no doubt in my mind.

With a good cure both the red and green phenos turned quite red for me.

Hello there, not wrong as any/all classic bud from back in the day was not treated and cured like someone could on their own. All the smuggled weed was compacted and bricked/baled, the conditions in packaging and transit degraded the quality certainly. Still was great to smoke then , but it would have been a whole different level with
fresh sample at the source. I guess my "badly cured" came across to you as it was bad herb, which was not my intent.
