I just put my panama in the tent, she has a lemon incense smell that I think I interpreted as afghan-like...just great. Pretty broad leaves compared to my other sativas, is that typical of the younger vegetative stages?

Hey people I'm back with a smoke report of the Panama
and some pics from my current Panama grow.
Well, as you can see a few pages back, I grew 5 fem seeds I bought from Ace (Fecha envasado 20/2/2012).
One of them turned out to be 100% male
which I breeded with selected brunches,
with various results.
#1 and #2 of the ladies had similar smell ,
an earthy lemon smell I haven't smelled before.
Nice and potent weed I love to vaporize and smoke.
One of those 2 ladies had more trichs than the other
yet they have the same potency.
#3 lady was my first keeper
with a very intense lemon smell with no skunk background
that asbolutely thrilled me from the first time I smelled it
when the plant was still flowering.
She was harvested at 10% amber(73 days of 12/12), very fast.
Next time I think I'll let her go 80 days.
#4 lady had the more sativa appearance from all
with a sweet haze lemon smell
(reminded me the silver haze from grey area in Amsterdam)
my second keeper.

It's a 45 lt dwc under 600w hps
GHE flora series and Canna PK13/14
I'll test the Canna Aqua Flores starting from next week.
PH: 5.8
EC: 1,4
22 days of flowering

Panama is certainly up there in the high statosphere of the upper echelon of my personal menu. Great all around strain - for growing, for trimming, and for exploring the multiverse.

Love your guy's descriptions Mayan, Terpene, Panacanna and Milkyjoe. They all sound special. I'm itching to cut mine, she's all golden with some fat hard cola's but still throwing fresh pistils at 13 weeks. It's going to be at least another week or so.

Best of luck, RC. You are inf or some fine times. Somewhere back in this thread, YosemiteSam, (who I don't think is a presence here any longer) swore by taking 'em to 14 weeks. He said there was a big difference -at least in his phenos- between 12 and 14 weeks - he did not feel like the ambering contributed to a more narcotic high but rather augmented the already profound high in a significant manner. I think he felt it got trippier. I very much respect his opinion, although I tend to shy away from much ambering myself.

Also, how common is the pink hair trait? 10%, 25%, 50%?

I'm growing 3 regular Panama outside and so far 2 are red females.
I saw some pink hairs on both of the females.
I'd say the red trait would be over 50%, I think they have semi stabilised it to the pink/red haired trait.

It's harder finding good green phenos, hopefully the last undecided Panama turns out to be a green female



These were planted early-mid december. They have wider leaves to start off with but thin out as it gets close to flower

A lower older fan leaf.

They soon start thinning out from the beginning of flower. I've had plenty of broadleaf sativas like Mulanje from Holy Smokes. Its funny how the smaller plant(left of photo) has wider leaves but is the last to flower, anything with indica in it would flower by now.

It's CBG's Panama but it's identical to Aces and this thread is awesome.

Oh yeah and the Panamas have had a serious passion vine hopper infestation. Anyone had any of these before and know a specific way to get rid of them?. Neem and confidor haven't done too much.

I'm not too sure, I'd say the're mostly bred to the classic red pheno. I was hoping to get a male but I think they're all females. I'll know by the end of the month if they're red or green.

Thanks! Yes bro there are clones from #2, #3 and #4(which is the smallest only two buds,the haze pheno(or green pheno maybe??) you can see it in the second photo down to the right).

I germed 4 seeds but no red phenos for me.
Is it true that it's impossible to get the red pheno under hps ligths?

There were very obvious differences in terpene profile but not a red pheno
(the pheno with the pink hair)

So far I really like this strain, I really want to see how she will perform in my dwc.
She seems to love lots of food now(1.4 EC). Any tips from the breeders for the dwc growers ?

Hello panama growers, I have 2 panama cuttings taken from a 5 month old fem seed mum, the cuts were taken when the mum had started flower and these cuts although well rooted and putting out new veg are still producing a few calyx.

The cuts are in a 12 inch pot filled with biobizz light mix/perlite (50/50)
I have feed them with "heads formula (6/9) the micro and bloom" at half strength and adjusted to 5.8 pH.

They are on 24/0 under a dual spectrum 400w hps

Being very new to growing and icmag ( only done autos in the garden before)
Could some of you more experienced growers mentor me?

Also I have a digital camera and can post pics but is that. Safe?

Never had a Panama auto on me. I'd just keep the lights 18/6 and they will come around to veg. Steady as she goes, just be patient.

Thanks RC have set timer to start 18/6 shift, I think because the cuts were taken from mum at 5 weeks into flower it may take a little longer to fully revert and stop throwing pistols out?

Dubi said you can't get the red/pink hairs under HPS, maybe MH?.
My afghanis used to get purple hairs under the metal halide but not HPS.

#3 looks like a heavy red pheno though mate, amazing and unique looking plant.

Pugsly - They will take about a month to get back to normal growth, such a pain getting preflowered plants back to veg.

Today is the first day I'm using Canna Aqua Flores + PK 13/14.

and only 2 buds of my Panama pheno #4, my green pheno I guess.

you must lower EC a little bit because the panama seems to

I have a Panama under 600 W HPS and it has pink/red pistils here and there. So it´s not impossible with the right pheno
