What's new

Panama reg’s go micro

Hmm yes I think that is quite astute. A lack of biological life may indeed account for the lack of self buffering. I had something similar happen once and lime did fix my problem, but I was using bottled “organic” nutes at the time and not hard organics as I do now. These days I pile on the worm castings and try to not let my soil dry out and I don’t seem to suffer from pH issues.

Oh well, I’m glad you’ve figured out your problem mate. She looks like a really compact plant so I’m interested to see how she grows out in flowering.

Yeah soil needs to breathe or all the microbes die, get yourself some Great White and revive the soil.

Thanks Frosty, I have a homemade worm bin so on the next trip I’ll be sure to add some new worm castings and I’ll even throw in a few red wigglers. Also, I’m going to Mae it a habit to pull the Rubbermaid out of the closet and turn the soil to aerate it, once a week. That should take care of the problem. I did add lime to the mix, but I’ll be adding some extra lime to the individual pots from here on out as it seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks bud. Yup, I’m hopeful that is in fact the problem as all the new growth is coming out much better. Here she is about 1 week into flowering. Minus the older leaves that have yellowed before I got the issue resolved, she looks ok all things considered. I’ve got her training wide and low. Im going to get in there and remove those damaged leaves tonight, should improve her overall appearance.

Here’s to hoping for a successful grow from here on out!

Nice. Looking a lot happier now eh?

I had to fight mites with my current run. The plants looked like crispy twigs by the time the mites has been eradicated, but it’s amazing how they bounce back.

Definitely! Hopefully it won’t affect the quality or yield of the end product, since I (hopefully) have the issues resolved now

Looking much healthier now. I like that nice lime-green growth on the tops, always a good sign.

Thanks Range! Yes, she’s looking much better now, the lime definitely did the trick and we are back on track! (See pics in next post)

Tomorrow will be day 14 12/12 and more lime was definitely the solution.

Nice, interested to see how much more she stretches.

Me too, she easily added 2” over the weekend while I was away, but I still have more room I can tie her down and flatten her out horizontally for a bit more.

Day 25 12/12

Stretching seems to have stopped and bud development seems to be picking up :dance013:

Day 33 Fade is already starting so I top dressed with a spoonful of mixed granular, a spoonful of kelp, and a few handfuls of wormcastings.

She’s starting to turn red leaves and throwing some pink pistols too even under these LEDs

Looking good. Many of my plants start to fade at this time, some have almost no fan leaves left at harvest time. At first I used to worry and given them more nitrogen (it being in an organic form rather than ionic) but it would not make any difference. She simply decides when she will stop taking up the nitrogen, all for the better of a nice smooth smoke at the end.

Incidentally, I flipped my own Panama (feminised) into flower 2 nights ago, after an 8 week veg. Will be interesting to compare results.

That’s great to hear, glad to get some confirmation that she’s progressing normally. I was hoping to have fade start later on a 12 week strain but it seems everything under these LEDs finishes early so we will see.

Anxious to try out some of this Panama smoke !

Looking great! She certainly appears to be packing on some weight now. Day 8 for my Panama, she looks like she's getting ready to explode skyward.

Nice!!! Shoot me a link to your grow I’ll check it out! Yes, this girl is doing great. I had to leave out of town for the holidays so I was forced to hook up a blumat for her to keep her watered while I am away. I don’t return until Jan 2nd.

The problem is I had no time to dial the blumat in, so I literally just had to eyeball the settings... I’m really hoping she isn’t screwed when I get back.

Merry Xmas!!

Good luck, hopefully she makes it through unscathed.

My grow, I update it once a week:
