Outdoor Madness in Manitoba with Greens (Guerilla Gold and many other strains)

Greens, could you talk about your experience with GG phenos?

Last year, I grew out and bred a pack of what I believe is GG #2...Mr. Clone sent them to me in Minnesota when he was still sending to the US.

I am indeed impressed with the potency of GG. I did note several things.

In general, this plant can do serious damage to your memory, and many of my friends have noticed it that I gave substantial amounts to. If you want to experience Alzeimers, GG can provide this...I am talking about forgetting phone numbers, pin numbers, peoples names.

And they were quite different for me pheno wise. One for instance was short and with out branches...the buds were less tight, almost like leather.

Several looked more like mighty mite...5-6 feet tall and multi branching...the taller phenos had absolutely tight buds that smelled earthy and dank...I'd say exactly like mighty mite.

But one sir was special. It produced buds that were distinctly smelling like a kind of cat pissy/diesel thing, but by mid-winter this pheno smelled exactly like lemon pledge. No one who smoked this could believe its strength.

What can I expect this year...

I grow in buckets, in peat bogs.

Mmmm I wanted to try GG#2 this year but never got around to ordering it.
I'm such a sucker for really early strains, I'm considering it seriously for next year.

What I can see from the pics looks great.

Lovely strains Greens! I'll be tagging along for the early ride...

Your strains look perfect for my settings! Before I adopt them, I'm hoping you can help me to clarify and optimize my plans:

Could you please elaborate more on GG and Manitoba flowering times?

- Does date of germination influence when plant will start flowering? If so, how many days / weeks from seed to start of flowering?

- How many days / weeks does flowering last (outdoors)?

- Do all GG / Manitoba strains flower in same pattern (autoflower / non-autoflower)? What is percentage of autoflower vs. non autoflower?

- What is lattitude of your grow?

Might I add that it would be understatement to simply say that you are an inspiration.

Keep it greenz,

Early

Hey Greens posted over at UDG but wanted to give you some props. Talk about football on a stick dammmmmm. Aug11th and I still have a couple weeks for these baby’s to fill in. Might need a hammer and chisel to break them open. Real nice plant so far can’t wait to smoke some of them. If they are as potent as I hear I will be back for more many more.

I had a GG mix pack which one you think these are?

Alright, I'm back. I had a great time in Banff and BC, but I'm glad to be back so I can check in on my ladies.

Farmaz, cool, I checked out your thread and things are looking very good. Yeah, you really got the sativa pheno from the Jam Donut didn't you? It should give you a nice yield. The Manitoba Madness is Brad's work (I have Manitoba Medicine which is a Freezeland/GG cross).

Thank you Sven!

Hi Former OGer. Hehe, yeah lots of us are former OGers. Yeah, GG#2 will show several phenotypes (pretty much all of which are good). The Mighty Mite seems to dominate in the GG#2 (whereas the Afghan dominates the GG#3). Yeah, I find all of the GG#2s to be potent, but sometimes you will find that killer pheno. I find the dominant smell to a sweet acidic seasoning, sometimes with a touch of fuel. Some of the more fuelish phenos can be devastating, that's for sure. Hehe, I've knocked countless rookies on there asses with this stuff (literally). Yeah, while you are stoned on GG, you can often forget things. LOL, I think I remember DDT saying that he smoked some GG#3 and then "forgot who he was". lol. :muahaha:

However, I've never found any lasting effects after the herb wore off. In the last year, I probably toked more GG than anything (and I keep only the best of the best for myself), and never really experienced any memory issues when I wasn't baked. Anyway, I'm glad you liked the herb. I will have GG#3 available this fall and this is the one with the most consitent killer phenos.

regulate, so far the Freezeland bx X GG#2 has been my favourite GG cross. It's just so potent, so early, and so tasty. The Manitoba Meds is going to be one of the best as well. A small percentage of the GGs and MM will autoflower under 24 hours of light. Pretty much all of them will bud with 18 hours of light.

Thanks bongasaurus!

Sunnydog, thanks man and yes they are available!

Blackone, yeah, you gotta give it a try next year.

early4surly, yes the germination date will affect the finishing time. Plants started earlier will finish earlier. I find it's best to plant them in May sometime so they will be budding during July and August when they will develop very potent buds. This year, I planted the seeds directly outside on May 29th and they began budding early to mid July. Most of the plants will finish within 6 to 7 weeks of seeing buds, but some will be even faster and a few will go longer.

The GG and MB meds are semi-autoflowering. A small percentage will bud under 24 hours of light. Most of them will need a dark period of about 6 hours for the buds to fully swell up and ripen. My grow location is at about 50 degrees north. Thank you for the kind words!

Very nice hamstring. What a nice short chunky plant! That chunker is definetely a GG#2. She looks like she's just about ready to harvest too!

Yup, Sativa alright, & big, where did that come from? all pretty uniform, thanks.

Thanks for the info Greens, trust me it will go to wise use.

Basically there is always at least 6 hours dark here, so I guess GG will bud as soon a she reaches sexual maturity... So could you be a bit more specific about how many days (on average / range) GG takes from date of seed germination until start of flower? This will allow me to choose best start date... Tight.

Not to mention can't wait to get my eyes on some fresh shots of your treez.
Way to grow!

Hello everyone! I'm back with another update for you to check out. Check these out after only 84 days from seeds!

Well, I have to say that things are going so well that my jaw dropped wide open when I first approached my patch with the GG#2 and GG#5 plants. They have just progressed so quickly, I can hardly believe it.

Here's some GG#2 plants. I harvested a few more and the rest will come down in a week to ten days. I have a bunch of these out there. They are very resinous and just smell awesome. The scissor hash got me just cooked.

Now, these are GG#5 plants. The finishing time seems to be very consistent at the end of August to the first week of September. More sour smells are coming through with this one than the GG2. Again, the sun has helped pack on the trichs with the GG5s, although the past couple days have been cloudy. The yield looks like it's going to be quite good.

OK, I just have to show more of the GG#5 because it has just turned out so awesome. The one early one that I harvested in July was very strong too with a trippy indica high.

First pic shows the spectrum that can show up in these plants. Overall, they are quite consistent actually. However, you can see the one on the right is very indica, while the one on the left looks like a sat/indica hybrid. This picture shows both ends of the spectrum. You can see two similar plants beside each other in the first pic above as well. The one on the right is just about ready to pic and the one on the left will go to like September 5th or so.

I am also extremely pleased with the results coming from the Manitoba Medicine. Again, these seem to be quite consistent finishing towards the end of August to the beginning of September. A couple will come down later including the beast. I harvested another one and it reeks like sour pine. That one smells quite a bit like the mighty freeze. The fan leaves are yellowing now, which should make for some smooth herb when it's done.

Here's the big one. She is over 7 feet tall and getting quite wide now too. I don't think this plant will finish till September 20 something or so. It should yield the most if the weather is OK until then.

First pic is Freezeland bx X GG#2. I harvested the top cola on one of them and left the bottom to finish up. Can't wait to vape some of this piney goodness.

Second and third pics are of the Auto Timewarp x GG#2. The auto timewarp on its own had a nice taste and smell, but I like the cross to GG much better. The finishing time is much more consistent (early in Sept), there is way more resin, the taste/smell became even more complex, and it shot the potency right up.

Last pic is of a GG#3 x Jam Donut.

OK, here's some of Jaysprout's stuff that I grew. The first two pics are of the mighty freeze. I forgot to take some full plant shots, but oh well. These just reek like sour pine. The second one might be the frostiest MF I've ever seen and it has a while to go.

Pics 3,4, and 5 are of the Mighty Durban. These have really progressed since I last saw them.

These are Jaysprout's Freezeland double backcrosses.

The first two pics are of his Freeze #1. These are more mature than the other Freeze plants. They appear to be at the 3rd week of flowering or maybe more. I bet these will be done by Sept 15 to 20th. They have very dark purple pistils.

Third pic is of the Freeze #2. These have nice little buds just forming and the piney smell is very strong.

Last pic is of the Freeze #3. These are about as far along as the Freeze 2 plants. Can't wait to see them develop.

The first two pics are of Breederbrad's Congo x GG. Some of these are so trichome covered, it's just unbelievable. Very awesome dank smell too. They are pretty small plants, but it looks like I'm going to get some awesome sativa buds here. :muahaha:

Pics 3 and 4 are of esben's Guerilla Gold x Danish Passion. They are looking good and should finish before the middle of September I'm guessing.

OK, first up is the OG Kush x GG. I inspected it carefully and it's not herming out, so that is great. It smells very much like the Triple Afghan Slam x GG. It's further along than I expected, that's for sure. I'm hoping this one turn out to be kick-ass herb. :asskick:

The second and third pics are of Sour Diesel x GG. A couple of them are getting pretty close. I like the colour of the pistils on this one.

OK, that's it for now. I'll update with some smoke reports pretty soon (well, vape reports actually).
