The OE was probably stressed early on which would have stalled growth for a couple of weeks. Not sure if it was a reaction to the miracle grow mix, but it does sound that way from your description.

I'd expect it to be a normal plant when it grows up - just a few weeks behind your others. Just let the rootmass develop - don't let it get too wet.

Thanks for the help and tips about getting to wet. I'll try and keep the soil dry. Humidity is normally low right now.

Hi nodestar,

Hard to say without pics but maybe the seed is just a runt or a less vigorous plant ... rare to see in Orient Express, it's usually a very vigorous strain. Please, share some pics if you have the chance ... how has been its growth lately ?

Some nice pictures in this thread, great job everyone. I tried the OE and from 6 seeds got 5 males and one hermi. Just my luck I guess haha :(

I tossed the OE Fem runt. I thought about taking pics but it seemed pointless. It wasn't a problem that was going to be fixable. At the time I tossed it, the other seeds that were planted at the same time were one and a half feet tall and had sexed and been trained and we're almost ready for Flower. While the runt was about 5 inches tall with white mutated leaves. When I pulled it the root system was that of a seedling. Just a single tap root really.

I didn't consider it a loss. I'm interested in a caffeine type high but when I get more seeds I'll prob go with Bangi Haze or Double Thai. Does OE offer anything different that Bangi Haze when it comes to the energetic up high?

I would look to the African strains for that kind of high. Bangi will probably work for you, or the Congo. I grew some Malawi a while back that was a very potent, energetic high.

I was wondering why this little baby was so super compact. Imagine this tight little baby under LED. Lol

Bumper you tossed the runt. These are the ones I like to use for experiments.
sometimes the ugly duckling packs the best punch. Patience can pay off on so many levels.

I agree with you mikeandnaomi. I'm always on the lookout for something special. But the runt had moved past patience into the impractical. If I felt I had some cause or control in it's development I would of kept trying. But I didn't see any cause and effect. So it was on it's own until finally it's space was required by another.

Welcome siropchik :)

Your Orient Express looks wonderful, great job!
is the feminized OE ?

You did the line justice providing good cares and enough fertilizer in the flowering to achieve a high yield. Thanks a lot for your contribution, wish you enjoy her!

Thx, Dubi.
Fem version

I did not expect such a result. I grew sedative herb for мedical purposes and OE was only for a few grams of sativa for me. But the result was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful genetics and fast flowering. It seems that my phenotype different from most OE, I saw before. I'm happy )

Hi siropchik,

To produce the latest Orient Express fem version i pollinated 3 very high yielding sativa dominant Vietnam Black phenos from the OE F2 Std line with my favourite OE chinese yunnan indica hashplant pheno mother (reversed) from the F1 fem line, this female was selected for its fast flowering, compact structure and very high resin production. So it's basically an F2 (sativa dom) x F1 (indica dom).

The goal was to produce a compact and very high yielding F3 plant that joins the best traits from the OE standard and feminized lines. The exact genetics of the feminized version are: Vietnam Black mother/China male 2 x Vietnam Black mother/China female 6.

China male 2 and China female 6 are also present in Kali China.

I'm glad you are happy :)

Very happy I am not with my investment of three packages of OE.35, germinated 24.De those 24, two were left behind and dismissed them. They were batch of 2010, I knew that not germinarian well...But what I really bitter, is having everything pollinated two hermaphrodites with one month to 12/12...Una thing is that F1, and shortly to be homogeneous. And another, which sold hermaphrodite seeds, worked badly and little tested.By the way, culture in coconut with table Advanced Nutrients, no sobrefertilizaciones, no gaps.Or light stress. We will, under the same conditions, as many others that did not give me problems.Greetings and caution

Hi guerrillero8,

I'm sorry to hear about your problems with Orient Express. We always recommend the customer to ask first the retailer about the packing date of the seeds before placing the order. As it is stated at our FAQ in our website, we only evaluate the replacements of seeds within two years after the packing date indicated on the reverse of the packages, and also provide a copy of the invoice of the purchase together with the original ACE Seeds packaging.

We test our lines before release them, and our older catalogue strains are breed and improve along the time. We always recommend to get the latest versions of our strains in order to get the freshest stock and the more worked versions of our lines.

Kind regards

Yo !
6OE pop. 4girls. very homogeneous except one. completelly sativa, enormous prod. smell litchi in 3-4wks after 12/12. and after that smells more like chinayun.

If I understand the last msg in esp, Ace produce several lines of each variety (eg : OE . girls1,2,3,4 and boys1,2,3,4) and if you want a line more than another you can choose ?. i'm right ?

Does somebody have any ideas about what this weird formation on the center of one OE bud is? As you can see, it looks like a ball with no much trichomes on it and red hairs coming out. The plant is otherwise healthy, no males in room, 31 days into flowering...
Do I have a hermie, and are my other plants in danger?

Many Thanks!

Not easy to see but it doesn't look like a male flower to me, judging by the brown pistil it looks like you have a seeded calyx (unless maybe it got a bit burnt by the lights?) so you may have male flowers appearing elsewhere, it's probably worth checking all plants thoroughly.

Hey Cut,

I don't think it's a male flower, I spotted another one in the same plant and I removed it (see better pic) and my guess is it's a seed forming :(
I have destroyed the two males I had 5 weeks ago, and been checking them quite frequently and haven't noticed any male flowers elsewhere.
Lights could have been the issue (moved them higher about a week ago), but there were other plants closer to them that have not been affected :dunno:

I'm half way in flowering so I guess whatever happened, happened?
