If you do like I do and transplant rooted clones or two week old seedlings in 3 gallon buckets of this stuff, the bone meal is plenty broken down by late flowering to supply enough phosphorous until harvest. I have never seen a need to supplement this recipe.
However, if your plants need more food, by all means feed them.

Quick question regarding the EWC/molasses tea.

I was reading the stickied tea thread and noticed that the consensus on molasses was to use smaller amounts. The recipe listed on the first post uses 1 tablespoon of molasses a gallon. From the stickied tea thread, I was noticing a majority of people using 1 teaspoon a gallon.

Should I stick with the stated recipe or is less better?

It's not going to hurt anything. I use 1 tbs./gal. Others may use 1 tsp./gal.

Hi
This is a great thread and has helped me loads but it IS massive and apologies if this has come up before...:
I am using soil in my soil mix but it seems that all of the recommended mixes here are soil-LESS?
I dont really understand why you people who are gardening organically wouldnt use soil??
I'm sure theres a perfectly good reason, I would just like to know it ;-)
Thanks in advance

I never show my grow to anyone EVER. I have never taken a picture of it, showed it to anyone or even mentioned it to anyone I know. But I can tell you I get about two or more ounces from each plant grown naturally (no trimming).

do u bubble the liqiuid karma in your tea?? im a little confused about that part

I put everything in at once. Unless I'm using fish. Then I bubble everything except the fish and pour it in just before using it. It stinks.

If you use soil from outside, you can bring in pests and diseases that can riun your garden.

It all depends on your plants. Most plants need extra N during the stretch that happens the first two to three weeks of flowering. After that, they don't need much N.
You have to learn to "read" your plants to know what they need. And that comes with experience.
What nutes are you using?

Hi
Thanks for the response.
I dont bring in soil from my garden :noway: (that would be mental of me!) I use bags of top-soil from a company called westland (UK based).
My (recommended to me) mix is:
2 parts coco coir
2 parts top soil
1 part perlite
1 part worm casts
lime
blood, fish and bone

Its working fine :joint: and I am very happy with the ingredients and performance. I just dont understand why your soil mixes dont include any actual soil...? Am I being brain dead? I really dont understand... :wallbash:

plantsman - it's quite simple friend
there are soil mixes - soil less mixes - hydro - and everything in between
glad your mix works for you

floydfanx6 - i use the mix in 1gal bags and have had no problems with plants being
deficiant

try it and see how it does for you
sometimes, i do like to topdress with a bit more mix about half way though flower
ewc tea with molasses and LK sometimes
sounds like a good plan to me

:edit: have YOU seen deficiencies yourself, in the two gal containers ?

i have not,,i havent run the mix yet,,,but just from reading,,i dont want to run into any problems,,,i guess i can top dress the soil a bit if needed
the thing is im not growing from clone but from seeds,il start in regular keg cups just the soil mix,,then 2 weeks later add them to the 2 gallon pots with the full dry nute soil mix,,then maybe do another 2-3 weeks veg max,,
according to burn 1,,its better if u water with molasses, ewc, and LK every time,,so il do it,,since i have all the stuff,,,i just dont want to run into problems :p im about to start mixing up lc's mix

since im not growing from clones,,and im using smaller pots,,i was just worried cuz of my slightly longer veg time,,that less nutes will be available at the end of flowering,,

You can make dried blood tea if you need immediate nitrogen. Start at 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water and see if it helps.
