Tutorial Organics for Beginners

Seedlings in LC soilless mix #2, about a week from transplant into 5.5" pots. First sets of fan leaves curling on a few of them... temp/rh averaging 79F/30%. Difficult maintaining anything above 25%, frequently spraying/adding damp cloths. Think its a humidity issue?

Also noticing slight purple coloring at new growth... can provide pics later tonight.

Could be cold floor, put pots on 2x4 blocks to allow ambient air under pot. You don't want a cold root zone in a wet pot. Look up pics on "Over watered Cannabis." If you're watering more than once a week right now that's likely it. The humidity of your room shouldn't be that big of deal yet. A few bowls of water placed near your babies should keep their little envelope of air wetter if need be. It will evaporate and raise their immediate RH.

Typical transplant shock is anywhere from 3-10 days, that's pretty normal.

Might not be your issue but those are easy to rule out. Best of luck.

I don't grow organic but low humidity like that has never hurt my plants. I highly doubt that's it. Best way to find out if you water is knowing the feel of of the pot. What I do is pick up a pot that is freshly watered and a plant that is dry and you can start to understand when they need to be watered based on weight of simply lifting. Good luck

Plants are elevated, so there is ambient air flowing underneath.

Could be overwatering. Pots have been drying out fairly quickly. Only watered semi heavily twice, all other watering a have been foliage spray. I moved the heavier pots closer to the fan so they should all be decently dry by the time I'm home.

Good to know humidity likely isn't the issue. I have 2 5 gal buckets of water and some damp towels to help keep at 30+

The less you touch, water or mess with them the better. When you up pot to the bigger containers you will be much better off. Like stated above, lifting the pot before and after watering will give you a good idea of when they need watering. The bigger they get the more often you need to water them. That's why I like a four gallon square pot.
Don't overdo it.

I think they're ok, just curious as to why it might be happening. Thinking theyll be happy in those pots for at least 10 more days...no? 2.5 weeks from transplant into 3.5"

Plants will be going into 1L pots next, as they wont be flowered out right away. Going to flower the cuttings, so ill likely keep them in the 1L as long as possible. Think liquid seaweed was recommended to help keep them happy? The clones will be flowered in 3 gal and 5 gal pots. Still working on obtaining the 4 gal mayo buckets.. dont exactly want to go ask myself.

Hello everyone, this is my first time making a just water soil for my outdor and im interest in this recepy:
1/3C hi N Guano Mexican Bat Guano or Peruvian Seabird Guano (PSG)
1/2C hi P Guano (Jamaican or Indonesian Bat guano)

Could someone tell around how much litters of soil could i mix with one 2.2 pound bag?
Thank you.

I have used bone meal and fish bone meal and they both work well. Much of the bone meal is now steamed and is from pork with NPK about 6-8-0 and fish bone meal about 6-20-0. Gardened since I was a child and all of our many fish remains were always buried in it.

The regular bone meal may be easier to find in small towns. Been replacing high P guano with fish bone meal and am very pleased after 8 months.

I am now 14 days from seed and 10 from transplant into 3.5" pots. I am starting to see roots around the drainage holes, but am thinking there's still room for the roots. At the moment the plan is to wait maybe 4 more days (18 from seed) before transplanting into 1L pots containing LC mix 2 and recipe 1.

Question is, can I give the plants an EWC + BS Molasses tea prior to transplant? Is there any point? Plants honestly look to be coming along just fine. Would that maybe help prolong transplanting? Make them a little happier/encourage growth? Just curious.

dumb question about when to transplant above... i will transplant when they start needing watered regularly.

Still wondering about the ewc/bsm watering prior to repotting though

Hi Burn One, and all the many contributors to this thread. You all have saved my current grow through this Organics for Beginners section. Somehow I had killed my microherd and gotten lost in a chemistry excercise. Now things are back on trac. I found some mikes with bacteria powder from last summer and a bottle of organic molasses plus some humic and fulvic acids called Lawns Alive.I have read up to page 15, with many detours to look at links but skipped to the last post to thank you all. Nature is great.

Plastic square pots (as BurnOne prefers) vs cloth/felt grow bags - pros/cons for for organic soil growers?

Also, gonna have a fairly crowded tent (4x4 area), any suggestions for hand watering until I get blumats set up?

Any preferred watering devices that are EWC tea friendly(believe I read something about some pump watering systems cause harm to the microherd...)?

Less than a month from the first flower cycle, getting excited :)

Got my first ewc/bsm tea brewing, a bit later than I would have preferred. Just starting to notice a slight paling of the leaves, so I don't think they have minded much.

Really digging this TeaLab brew bag
