the EWC are a solid, so would i pour in the water into my tub, then the molasses and humic/fulvic acids mix it up, then get the cheesecloth and put 2tbs of EWC in it and put it in the bottom then bubble it?

then when i am about to flower my plant i use EWC bone meal and blood meal and liquid seaweed and buble that?

Maybe get something to measure ph with like ph test strips. This can give you an idea of water, tea, and soil ph and whether it needs to be adjusted as your growing. IMO ph in organic growing is just as important as other types of growing including hydroponics.

kelp is giant seaweed. Bone meal should have plenty of phosphorus so I would skip the high p guano.

From his recipe, blood meal gives you nitrogen, bone meal gives you phosphorus, and seaweed is your source of potassium (check the bag for high k). Calcium and magnesium are in the dolomite lime. I guess micronutrients are in the previous things like seaweed.

go for the liquid seaweed..... its easier to use..... and i strongly recomend the high p guano, bone and blood meal take longer to break down and they are better used as amendements for the soil. believe me a high "p" guano tea, with little wc, and molasses is as best as you can get as for a flowring organic nute goes.......imho

Kelp or seaweed is the source of potassium. Just check the bag. It should read something like 1%n o%p 4 to 10% k Woodashes could be used instead but would cause a tremendous ph rise. Greensand (?) could also be used but its availability is very slow and might have to be incorporated into the soil and not water soluble.

The high phosphorus guano may be a little more soluble in water than bone meal if you are making a tea.

i was just at a garden store and was only able to get the blood and bone meal.

which kind of stores would carry the liquid seaweed, and the humic and fulvic acids? im going to a hydroponics store tomorrow so im crossing my fingers that they'll have it.

will the hydroponics store also have the air pump and air stone?

what kind of tub do you guys use to bubble your tea in? i was just thinking maybe a big tupperware tub. would that be fine?

If you can't find seaweed, you can use greensand http://www.state.ar.us/agc/greensan1.htm mixed into the soil for your source of potassium. I don't think you can make a tea because it is not soluble.

You also could use wood ashes (instead of dolomite lime) as a source of potassium and raise ph. Build a small fire if necessary without the use of gasoline, etc... to start it. Pinetree wood is an excellent ash. You then would have to find a source of calcium and magnesium. I use powdered gypsum and epsom salts but neither of these are organic = contain carbon.

You can get the airpump and stone at a discount store like walmart. They will be alot cheaper than a marked up hydro store. You could also get a new 5 gallon bucket with lid for about $5 for making teas. Again, try walmart.

The thing that makes seaweed or kelp important is that not only does it contain potassium but also is your source of micronutrients like iron, manganese, etc...

look mon actually you dont need all that fancy stuff. Go to the nearest wallyworld and buy your self some seaweed for sushi.... take all the sheets out and rinse them well to get rid of any sodium left. then put this in your blender with 1ltr of water and blend... put the mix in a gallon container, add one table spoon of molasses. keep in the fridge and use it as foliar (do not bubble this mix). Dont buy humic and fulvic acids, its a waste of money, there are plenty of this in the ewc. there are thousands of recipies like this...... you just have to look for them right here on ic. here are some tips.... search for Guano tea, compost tea, alfalfa meal, fish emulsion, ewc tea, manure tea, etc.... all the previous mentioned can be done with things bought at wallyworld, home depot or your local nursery........once again remember you dont need all the fancy stuff. you can do your own for way less $$$$

for brewing teas, does the size of the airstone matter? i got this little kit with 9ft of tubing and an airstone that is about 1 inch wide. is this plenty? my pump says its enough for 30 gallons, its an aquarium pump. i have a 53 litre rubbermaid tub to bubble my tea in aswell if that helps.

edit: what do you put your nutrients in? i was thinking some cheesecloth.

ill go for something bigger... i have a 50 litre pump and use 6" airstone. this way i make a 50 liter tea in 24 hours....but thats for my outdoor grow...... you dont need to do that much... just maka the amount you ar going to use the next day.....if you keep ot longer than 24 hours it will start to reak as toilet due to de decomposition and the overpopulation of benefical microbial life...yes stink means good..... but you dont want your whole house to stink.....start by knowing how it's going to be the feeding regime and how much thoes each plant needs on each watering and calculate....

Hey C sory I've been away, we had a major storm in my end of the world and I've been witou elec. for 4 days....

The Liquid kelp is for teas, it dissolves quickly into the tea so you get the most from it, the kelp meal is to mix with your soil and gets broken down over time.

Greensand is a waste of $ because it's very slow to break down, it's good for those who recycle their soil because it is actively breaking down over a couple of grows, this is not your situation.

A small airstone is fine, as long as some air is bubbled through the tea.

I use a 5 gallon pail with a lid (paint section of Lowes) to bubble my tea.

I put my nutes in an old teashirt that I tie a knot in, paintstrainer bags are also very good and as Sroutco mentiones kneehigh socks ( your gmama's top drawer ;) ).

The hydro store should have the LKarma or humic /fulvic acid as well as the liquid seaweed and kelpmeal.

Wood ashes are good for shit, they burn and flux ph to a point where I would prefer using hydro nutes that that shit.

Hopefully the power stays on for awhile.

Peace
