Ah the good ole days.............

Ah the good ole days.............

I remember:

gas at 25 cents, and that came with an oil check and windshield wash

i could buy cigarettes for my parents at the local grocer with just a note from them

running free all summer long for hours with no child molesters, my parents never knew where I was

our milk was actually delivered by some guy that came to the house 3 times a week

when i had measles the doctore visited my house also

list could go on forever

wasnt it a rambler that didnt have a stick shift,i was just learning to drive ,you had to puch a button on the dash to shift gears

My folks had a 1960 Dodge Dart with the push-button transmission, but it was an automatic. I remember my mom, God rest her soul, was so elated with that tranny, because every car they owned before that was a manual shift.
That car would make 1 helluva low-rider, huh? :chin: :yoinks:  :joint:

We had an old 1930's PT-19 trainer plane, that My Dad, and the kids would fly to Santa Rosa to go "Shopping."

He used paved hi-ways, roads, drive-ways, hell anything to take-off from, and land on.

Well friends, as I approach the big 60, I am really starting to feel mature.

I did remember all 25 of the questions as well as most of the other stuff that you bring up.

We had a horse-drawn fruit wagon that came around in the 1950\'s and got our milk and bread delivered. Who says that progress is always good?

Yesterday I bought a Valentine\'s day card for the wife and when I got to the checkout, it was $4.99. I almost stroked out on the spot.

But hey, the sex is still good, the smoke is still good and I get to read the AARP Bulletin every month. What more can you ask from life?

I don't think so, ese, I'd rather make the Dart into a MOPAR street rocket than a lowrider. Now, the Impala in the pic is a low low :bandit:.

Paz y mas...

lace ties

fingertip lenght jackets

roads with few cars

That was pretty much sarcasm, oaxaca, a 1960 Dart would be a terrible looking low-rider. :joint:

But the 1963 Dart was pretty neat, even nicer was the '63 Valiant. That little duece and a quarter slant six with the 3 in the tree shifter was a nice ride and real easy on the pocket to run. I could fix most anything that went wrong on one of those cars, right there in the driveway. :D

Haha, I know what ya mean, Bud...in '83, I drove a 61 Comet from Denver to the beach in NC. My buddy & I broke down along the Interstate & he fixed the problem with a knife. That was only about an hr outside Denver & the car made it here [sans 2nd gear], but was just about dead when we arrived. At least we did make it & we toked the entire drive...the ONLY way to travel.

Well , only 16 so I'm not a fossil, in my 40's now and Its all good. I have ppl. who think I'm in my 20's . They want to see my DL. as proof. LOL I find that if ya workout alot and smoke your goodies - time is on your side. My first car was a "Cuda" with an 8-track player in it. First movie was Tommy at the drive-in. We lived in the sticks so didn't see much in-town stuff. Remember seeing the first glass front dryer when I was 10, I would stand in front of it to see socks spin round. The swimming pool was a cattle pond. All the hippie's in our area had huge gardens of weed. It was always free, never saw anyone trade money for grass, till I was in my 20's . Oh how times change. pCe...
