been looking and think i finally found the right 2dr 5spd xj. drove it today and it was smooth as my wifes van at 80. no wobbles shakes or anything else i could tell. should be picking it up next week.

have owned CJs, trucks, Cherokees, and (just once!) one of those misbegotten mail jeeps. you would be going down a dirt road & hit a bump.. "POW!" your doors would fly off & land in the road behind you! somewhat embarrassing...looking for another CJ or Cherokee as we "speak". want one with the Buick V-6 & a 4 speed this time, no more 258 in-line 6's for me. damn things had a poorly designed/cast oil passage to one cylinder, lifter is bad to seize & make you drop a cylinder. a 6 cylinder running on just 5 SUCKS!
I'm lookin at a new ruby unlimited for the chick to drive....im still in the old xj with the heater on full blast through the summer months...and loving every sweaty minute of it.
anyone planning on going to the king of the hammers this week? best offroad/rock crawling race ever! chick got a new unlimited...not a rubi though, those things are pricey!
plan on going next year.. my rigs in extended surgery right now.
