That may be so Wunderkind. The problem is you're recommending other Americans to book a room at the Tulip Inn A'dam Ctr for $150 when the price is much more than that if they try to book it.

So, bad advice really.......unless you tell people to book 7 weeks or more in advance, like you did.
you're really trying hard to be right on this, huh?

Everyone knows that booking in advance equals savings. And because people are able to book a room in this particular hotel for $150 a night, makes me 100% correct.

So, good advice....really.

lol Wunderkind, at the time of writing, your advice was bad, as that price was not available anywhere.

Can folks book a room DURING THE CUP for 150 a night? That's what we are discussing here, how to book a room for the cup, it's not about who's right, pissing contests aren't helpful to anyone.

Well it seems it was possible 3 weeks ago according to Wunderkind, although I still find it hard to believe, as that's extremely cheap for a 4* in Amsterdam city centre.

However it's not available anymore. In fact the price is 3 times that, and so the reason for me posting on this was to help people not waste time by going on wild goose chases for phantom $150 rooms that are not bookable now for the cup period.

Wunderkind

During the cup, as in showing up without a room booked? I bet you could get a room for $150 or less. All though you could only stay there one night. They have empty rooms that they need to fill.

B

British_Bulldog

Well Wunderkind, we've come full circle, that's what someone said originally, then you said it's better to pay a few more dollars, and get a 4 star hotel right in the middle of the city centre......what you failed to mention is that this needs to be done well in advance.

Tulip Inn is not the same as the Golden Tulip.

You can book a room at the Golden Tulip for $150 a night.

and, you were not able to see the rates at the time of my posting. You checked some time later.

All three statements....100% True.

All three statements....100% True.

Well let's see,

You posted at 9.10pm on 03/30/08:

Wunderkind: "Nice looking place, but for Americans I'd say that isn't the ideal hotel. For 50 euros, or roughly $100 USD, you get a room without a toilet and shower. Or for $150 a night you can stay at the Golden Tulip Amsterdam Centre, a 4 star hotel."

and I checked, and posted this at 11.23am on 03/31/08, only 14 hours 13 minutes later:

B_B: "the Golden Tulip Amsterdam Centre website states that for 3 nights over the cup period, eg. from 18-21 April, the rate per night is US$381.57 excluding breakfast!

And that was for the Golden Tulip, as I'm very tired and high now, as it's nearly 1am in Italy, that's why I got the Tulip Inn and the Golden Tulip mixed up just now, so for that I'm sorry, but all the previous rates were selected for the one you're talking about, the Golden Tulip.

Oh my god, dude. :bashhead: Give it a fucking rest.

Rates on travel sites are constantly changing. Yes, 14 hours is a difference.

Booking your flight and hotel on a travel site can save you hundreds of dollars. I am saving hundreds of dollars.

I'm done with this. I'm done trying to get you to believe there are great values to be had.

So it goes from $150 to $381 in 14 hours, I don't think so somehow.

And now you're saying you have to book a flight to get the $150 rate, and you have to do in almost 2 months before you go?

Well this has absolutely no relevance to the 2008 Cup, so I don't know why you bothered posting this in the first place.

Next time, I recommend posting info like this in January or February, not 3 weeks before the Cup when the rate is over $381.

Pablo,
Mila owns the Pollinator company and is one of the true heros of our favorite pasttimes....(Smoking Hash)
She was one of the first to introduce tumble sieves and icewater extraction bags....One very cool lady...I will try to scan and print an article on her....

Thanks for the answer DG

Flight arrives Shiphol at 1:10 on the 17th so should get to the polinator between 2 - 3 pm. Would apreciate if a Judge's pass is still available as thats why I'm booking this trip at this time (If not for the cup I wouldve waited a couple of weeks & let the prices go back down). Howver do you have any idea from previous years how quickly they will sell out.

Another question would be about cost & I remeber yourself or Gypsy saying they wouldn't be expensive. The HTCC is £70 in advance £100 after the early brid sales roughly. If you can't be exact any chance you could compare how expensive it will be in comparison to the HTCC.

Cheers again

Let's just say ohhhhhhh, ya'll are in for a very nice surprise...and leave it at that. One hint....an overall judge pass this year will be much less than what just one of them was last year.

Thanks!
