Here is my "KaliMist/x13/thai X Deep Chunk" clone (Ill get pics of "Cherry Chunk" next time)
She's been in the shot for a week now, and came from the bubble-cloner already rooted. I picked small clones for this, and plan to go to 12/12 today.
...oh and the pewter shooter is exactly 1oz

damn ! this looks like too much fun to NOT participate. i have more seeds than i can use, and a pair of shot glasses that aren't doing anything. i can prolly pickup a couple more at the thrift store for next-to-nothing. i would like to have at least 3 different mediums to play with . i'll put pics up when they are showing their 1st leaves.

1 of 2 of my seeds has sprouted, guess i'll know by tomorrow if the other one will too. I'm using plain glass shotglasses but i might cover the sides up to keep light away from the roots. Just using hand-picked clay pebbles, smallest ones i could find. I just used Lowryder x Master Kush seeds as i've no interest in growing it 'properly' again ... will probably just go straight into 12/12 as i'm not interested in trying for a big yield, just curious to see if I can get any yield.

I've done something like this before, and they grew fine and healthy, except, even at 3 weeks old, they were only a few inches tall. the roots will want to outgrow that small of an area very very quickly. they will just overcrowd each other and smother themselves. the problem is, with the small amount of roots the container can possibly hold, problems begin to happen. first, the stem gets girdled by the roots. this is basically rootbound. the uptake requirements for a plant to grow larger multiplies with size, yet the roots do not have to space to grow to keep up.
I would say a glass filled with water and an air line from an airpump would do much better (mini DWC, more room for roots) but still in the end, not be enough. the roots will eventually grow upwards and outside of the glass, searching for food, but since the environment outside of the glass can't support it, the roots will just stop in their tracks and die after that. before the roots outgrow the glass, the plants will probably show signs of deficiencies and just die. the reason why I say DWC would have been better, is because you can cut back the roots continuously as they grow larger, therefore basically allowing the glass to almost be filled by the roots (maybe 50% or less to allow room for water,oxygen,etc...but roots can grow so damn fast, it would probably be a daily if not, bi-daily chore), but no more than that. this will keep the plants size down, and allow enough room for roots to breathe. the plant will basically stay very very small (new meaning to micro grow) and be like a very tiny bonsai, while still aging. it would be a simple neat method to take care of tiny clones you may want to keep of your favorite strains for a collection if you don't have the space. I'd say best light to use is one of those 26w cfl's that give off 1800 lumens and no more, maybe even less.

With bonsai they often trim the roots to help keep it small, if I see any visible roots coming up out of the clay pebble medium then ill just trim them ... *fingers crossed*
