Its all the same, new face - same shitty job gets done by whomever is elected to be the scapegoat for the next while. Pass GO, collect $200k for life, cruise the big jet, and see how many people are gonna think it might change the second time around or even by changing the skin on the figurehead player.

Keep your powder dry folks!

Mitt Romney is probably the strongest challenger for the next election.
Please elaborate for us how your life would improve if he was elected president, with special emphasis on the issue you've already said is of paramount importance- mj legalization.

you do not want a mormon to run the country. trust me. but thats still a stupid point. the meat and potatoes of the situation is any R or D candidate that they throw up is like south park said so well " terd sandwich vs douche milkshake" its a lose lose. radical problems require radical solutions. ron paul is the best hope i see as he atleast speaks the truth bluntly and doesnt piss in your face and tell you its raining. i know i just contradicted myself by saying no r or d then supporting ron paul who is r. but im trying to make a point and be realistic in the same thought.

you must look past the puppets to the puppet master.

the sleeper must awaken, the sleeper must awaken.

new boss same as the old boss.

wake up, wake up.

This thread has completely devolved, I see a *thread closed* in our future...
Surprised it's lasted this long to be honest; but this is shameful...
Assassination has torn this country apart, several times.

Oh natty, Why shameful? because I brought up the possibility of assination. I wasn't promoting it just bringing up the possibility that every president faces.
I wasn't standing around holding signs that promoted killing the president like so many liberals did during the second leg of Bushes administration or the hack media calling him a mass murderer.
So don' get your panties in a twist.
Cheers

any way you slice it, your aim was to mention killing the president. then, when someone complains you get to mention it again, and throw out an accusation that a large portion of the country ("liberals") wanted Bush dead, which sort of implies it's ok to talk about assassinating Obama, which is, of course, not what you are suggesting at all.

if I wore panties they would be twisted, and legitimately.

.......... and 3 years later look at the title of this thread.

I watched it. Thought I'd see if the 11th view changed my opinion. If I edited two, 3-second portions of the 2.5 minute segment, I might imagine you're calling out the irony between the message and the thread title.

But listening to the whole comment, in addition to reading the JD memos, I still have the opinion that the thread title largely applies to folks that aren't meeting their state obligations or state lawmakers (who) aren't wording their legislation accordingly.

I don't doubt folks' comprehension skills. I just wonder how they tune out the info that says this guy doesn't take mmj seriously enough to change federal law.

IMO, part of this hullabaloo is from all the venture capitalists who saw dollar signs. Non-profit doesn't mean no salaries but that's not enough for some folks.

Hell, people get busted every day for sidestepping regulations in legal industries. I wouldn't expect any individual, even the POTUS to vow that one may interpret laws any way they wish.

I admire growers, distributors and consumers that take their chances with the law. I have no problem with folks being ticked that Obama isn't a weed advocate. Not so sure I find anything admirable about saying the guy lied when Donald Trump's link is proof he didn't

Really?

That seems like a personal perspective.

Not that I condone it, but I'm sure the rebels would have resorted to killing an oppressive king with one shot.

This country was built on fighting tyranny.

Leaders should be slightly fearful...they're not any longer.

I have recenty become 'legal' for the right reasons. If you think LEO plays fair and all of these busts where the fault of sidesteppin regs I don't want you on my jury Brudda.

I've seen a few busts. Haven't seen any convictions, let alone their respective circumstances. You can make your argument personal all you want, makes no difference to me.

There's nothing in my post that suggests my personal inclinations. Nothing I posted suggests I agree with the status quote. Suggesting as much just added an extra sentence to your post.

All you folks saying wake up may take your own advice.

what do you mean by "personal perspective", and what part seems like it?

your post needs a decoder ring I think.

I 100% agree... and often joke about the guillotine.

Just that when a solitary person (or small group) chooses to exact such justice... I have a problem.

Accountability needs to be spelled out & knowingly entered into, not something you should be looking over your shoulder for where any nut that might take to disagreeing can take a shot.

My biggest concern with this thread is that there is no accountability for the police, or for the Prez, or for pretty much any governmental official... except so far down the line where the shit can only stop there. Think most all of us agree with this... we want some accountability. But this isn't a unique argument against the current administration... it's systemic.

I concede, that is a fair point; for which I hope you will accept my apology... :prettyplease:
it's just such a frightening proposition, I hate to imagine our country ever going through that again; I hate to see it even brought up.

But, you were wrong if you meant to suggest that I might have hoped for any physical harm to come to 'Bushie'…
Alright, alright; I may have hoped for another 'Segway Spill' or 'Pretzel Incident', perhaps...but, that was just in the interest of comedy... :shucks:
...Ok, fine, I admit I probably would have gotten a teeny tiny bit of satisfaction out of it too.

Yeah, but they did a lot of things that I hope we as a society would now condemn, or at the very least considered 'taboo'...
…owning slaves, burning "witches", viewing women as 'property', using leaches as 'medical instruments'; just to name a few...
