Nutrients and Additives (UK)

Startboost is 100% organic and does create a biofilm in a rez similar to the old roots excel , the startboost gave me ph problems with r.o but should be fine with normal tap or organic soil

Cheers matey.

Not sure the startbooster will go well with drippers. But I rarely use drippers in veg anywho.

Hi herb.

I see in an earlier post you are using H&G in coco. I've seen HydroHobby in Coventry are selling H&G coco, but they have grow and bloom version instead of the usual single base nutrient for all stages . I've never seen that anywhere else. I was just wondering if you have used this or heard anything about it.

That's specifically made for us UK people that like to veg our plants in Holland they don't bother really and the grow version is tailored more for veg as apposed to a bloom fert aka the normal coco's they sell

Never used it myself but could be good for long term moms

Hey,

As FOG States the veg version was made purely for our market as we like bushes more than sog grows. But I don't use the veg feed. Just the standard coco for me. Beit 2 week veg or 2 months. All is good.

Just to add to wot the lads said^^ i actually use the veg and flower a+b! you can use the bloom nutes for both veg and bloom but not the veg nutes all way through if you get wot i mean! i have very soft water and when first trying the one part i was getting deficiency's in veg so i switched to the veg a+b and all is good now! if you get the chance to look on the labeling you will see the veg a+b has more cal and mag than the one part or bloom a+b version! hope that helps bro but if you do have soft water i would recommend both the veg and bloom parts! .......:tiphat:

All cannabis enzyme products are a rip-off and very very dilute.

You can buy enzymes in very much more concentrated form for cleaning septic tanks, unblocking sinks and treating pond algae. Advanced Nutrients Voodoo Juice, which is very expensive, is nothing more than rebottled septic tank cleaner they buy in bulk.

One good, cheap source of enzymes is this Hagesan Kitchen Sink & Drain unblocker, it's very strong so use it in tiny amounts, about 6 quid for a 750ml bottle and will last you a long time.

Does anyone else have good experiences with this drain cleaner?

How are you applying it? I read about using 2.5ml-5ml/10l and to add it twice per week in another forum.

I wouldn't recommend using the 'HG drain unblocker' on plants what so ever.

I can't condone using it on meds.

What is your thinking behind using the Enzymes? What do you need it for?

I have no dislike for enzymes. I used them before I realised that unless your re-using media that they're useless.

They do nothing for the grow phase.

They go somewhat to break down root and other detritus, but so will a living media. I grow in soil and have no use for them.

If you were to replace cannazym with 'HG' then its your choice to do so.

I was just wondering why you'd consider putting sink and drain unblocker into your meds :)

Is your grow in need of unblocking? I doubt it..

Again, for what reason are you needing enzyme and not a base nutrient? Is your base not working for you?

Do you need to add Enzyme and why?

I use the PotSil that the monkey recommended, I use it very often as a pH adjuster.

I have stored bud in those tubs and they ain't smell proof Hottish.

With regards to you swapping cannazym for HG. I wouldn't.

I'd use myco's during the grow and then shake the roots from the coco into the Approved Open Top Plastic Drums. Your free to do as you wish, that's just my 2 cents on how I'd do things..

Sounds like your doing things right mate why change? If you want cheaper bottled stuff then buy in bulk or buy them in the green cans. Get a spanner to open them and decant the into smaller 1ltr bottles.

Don't buy what isn't needed I have a house full of shit I don't want and can't get rid off!

As for dose rates with 'HG' its all experimental there is no instructions for how much to feed cannabis or what it will do to coco.

MD, the OTD I use with a band lever lock to seal are smell proof to my nose anyway , not those I linked but similar

I tend to beat the roots to loosen the coco by the stalk against the inside of the drums and rim as they fill some roots break off & end up in
