Keep us updated on this one.
Pretty cool, i couldnt resist rubbing a nug of a elite selection from a hybrid i made here and it has a mildly sweet bubble gum smell to the buds, and that with the creamy mandarin orange of the males stem rub should be super interesting alot of seeds are forming on it. I am excited about that one as well as the angolas, they seem very friendly compared to what you would think of an african sativa, soft and elegant profiles and leaves.

looks like 2/4 phenotypes of the femles have the red pistol trait, so i am concluding angola red is not a landrace. just that they have red hair angolas in the population and at one point someone selected for the red phenotype which has slightly broader but still skinny leaves than the green phenotype that is my favorite and now smells like orange starburst. your not going to find a field of red hair plants, it doesnt fit how most fields are, nature does a good job of keeping diversity in big ops.

How are the red Angola doing?

I am looking at Mike's strains, which one stands out for you?

I prefer good vibes, laughing, less jittery high.

Thanks for the reply.i grow indoor/coco/DTW. I keep PH 5.8-6 with ec 1.1-1.2. I am ok with controlling height. He has some i like. Nothing over 18weeks.

I think for non racy strain that chill, The Migori from Kenya is Uplifting without being racy i believe, it has the floral terpenes that balance out the energetic lemon and spicyness, another option is the Kwale a coastal kenya strain i am going to start soon ive had the seeds a year already i think. The Kambi, will be more toned down but with more energetic profile since it wil be fed more nutrients in that system constantly than in its native climate which is a bit drier. Same with Kilimanjaro, some of them can be picky when they are grown out of their environment too much,. If i had to recommend the best strain mike has, its not posted on his site now but he has seeds for indoor is Swazi Gold x Skunk its been grown in S. Africa almost 20 years or more outdoors acclimated. its known as swazi skunk but its more energetic it has no hybrid side to it but its like a pumped up S.african landrace. that i believe will respond better to an indoor environment based on its heritage, The Uganda strains he has are grown and finish flowering in high humidity , as well as the kwale so i dont think they will be good for flowering in dry environments like s.african skunk or kilimanjaro or even kyumbi or migori because those areas have more pronounced wet/dry season

so if you start a strain from region with more daylight hours like Swazi Skunk or Ethiopian, it may need more variation than pure 12/12 its whole lifecycle where a strain from close to the equator will have no light change, these strains i recommend using natural cues if your keeping them in 12/12 to initiate flowering and let them finish properly, alot of strains if they don't have the right cues they wont finish to their most potential in my opinion. depending on its regions use drought stress, and or lower humidity to enhance full flowering. slightly lower temps. or lower temps and humidity and water less over time gradually. it depends on its native environment trying to mimic it the best you can indoors, even ph wise.
