Going to play around making some crosses. 🫘

Correct! That's my Green Mountain Grape 🍇 starting to put some on.
I'm doing a Mountain Gold seed reproduction but they aren't ready yet.

I thought I'd hit a small branch of GMG with a purple pheno from the Mountain Gold and reenforce the Highland Oaxacan. 😃 For practice and science.

This is #9 for the Cabbage Looper Moths!
They're coming!!!
And they're bringing Hell with them!!! 🔥 😲 😭 🤠

Lol, but you get the idea.💡
Looper moths are no bueno.
They are a very probable contributor to the dreaded bud rot.

I run my decoys, I'm spraying proactively right now with bt before they show up. (It's good for about 7 days, then it's gone)
And I've been actively destroying them. 🎯 🔫

I'm using purecrop1 as my sticker for the bt.
If applied 2 hours before, it's rain resistant.
I'm going with their claim that it thickens the leaves over time and makes them more resistant to powdery mildew.
If it's true. And it did work well for me last year. (I grew 20# outdoors)

Then it just makes sense for me to use it as the bt sticker instead of soap or some other product that doesn't do all the other things purecrop1 does. (aphids, thrips, mites, etc. but doesn't harm bennies.)

But back to the Looper moths. 🦋 🦋
I was seeing 👀 1 here and there flitting around the last few weeks. .
Then I saw 2 females harassing each other in my yard a few times.

Now I'm seeing 3 in the yard at the same time, and I killed this smaller male who was doing a mating dance with one of the females. 😡

So that's my shout-out.
It's time! ⏳🕐
If you haven't been giving much thought to your IPM's, nows the time for me at 42°N in the Midwest.

Is that a salt gun? I've got hoppers like mad this year, and here come the moths, too. Hungry little butterflies...

I decided to only keep the last 8 inches of so of the best branches to smoke. After drying I bucked the rest right into large grove bags without trimming to wash.
Only trimmed the best.
That's how I'm handling it being only1 man.
An update on my hash making efforts!
Just to reiterate quickly...
Sungrown Organic single origin budwashed/ long cure 42°N.
Frenchy style - pizza tec - wine cooler
Full spec 159-45u

I had a friend want me to show him what I knew and it really turned out. (It had been 40 years)
My share was 9.5 pounds. 😃
Me and my one-hitter! Lol
(I had quit smoking for 25 years)

So I took it upon myself to learn about bubble.
I kept just the very best branch ends for flower... about 1.5#'s and washed all the rest to deal with the bulk and for storage.

I'm very happy with the results. They range from 30 - 49 grams ea.
Still have 2 runs to go.

About 2/3rds of my grow this year is chasing some pot memories from the 70's. 😃
Been awhile but some NLD are in rotation. 42°N

I spent 2 weeks down in Mexico in 73.
Climbed the pyramid of the Sun.
Experienced The Night of the Iguana in Puerto Vallarta. 😉 🌴

Am I looking in the wrong places?
Not an outdoor post in 20 years or seems.
If it hasn't been posted yet, try being logged in and going to the search function in the top right corner, and type in 'outdoor', and check the box for 'titles only' or something like that.

I'd be a bit surprised if nothing comes up when doing that.

Hello mooseI love growing outdoors! Been doing it for 40 years on the island of Kauai. The weed we grow outdoors (pakalolo) here is just as good as indoor weed or humbloldt outdoors! 250 fluorescence for a month and a half and then outdoors to flower.

I prefer containers now...idk, i get to see more of the individual pheno expression i feel.

Last years SSSTN run, compliments of OJD.
Hello, I am a newbie to this site! That is a beautiful outdoor grow and you’re so lucky to be able to just grow right on your lanai like that. Wondering if you ever use fabric cloth pots? I seem to have better luck with this roots like a ball up and plastic pots whereas the roots will grow more straight out in a cloth pot with much less damping. With that being said, terrific job

No. I came across a huge pile of pots big and small at a kids camp from a massive landscaping project...so i bought em all. Rigid wall is not as root promoting as air porous fibre pots, but much easier to work with above 5g size. Multiple grows from one container rather than root intrusions.
Affirmative brother! Got to do what works good for you. I can smell that sweet chronic from here! Northwest?
