Ok i agree with you, burden of proof is on the believer

For we believe in what we see

That leaves more mystery for you i imagine

For me, in believing in some kind of order/higher power, it brings me comfort, and my faith has been made stronger through experiences

Ive had some experiences that make me believe that there is order in the universe

I have a hard time believing we are meaningless, came from nothing
I believe we are marvels of science

We aren't meaningless, and we are marvelous.

I believe that something so beautiful needed some time and effort to be designed

Evolution takes a long time. Evolution designed us and all other life forms, and still is. Random selection, survival of the fittest. Just like you select Cannabis plants for your desired traits, nature "selects" the fittest and most adaptable. Species that don't adapt go extinct. No ghost necessary. Nothing planned in advance by an imaginary creature, or there would be no extinctions. Just evolution, which is "miraculous" in and of itself.

It is my belief that there is a lot of confusion in regards to physical evolution and spiritual evolution of the soul and of the conscious/unconscious mind. Yes, physically similar beings have been here on earth for quite a while, evolving into an animal that is better suited to survive or thrive in the current environmental conditions of the planet. But what of the non physical evolution, the one that in theory makes us unique to the rest of the creatures on earth ? When did this evolution of the soul transpire? Of course these questions are rhetorical, as nobody in our current age can honestly answer. Xians think they have the answer, but why then is so much hidden from the masses in the vaults and libraries of the Vatican?

Xians, if you have a moment to read something other than the 'Book', read up on Pisces, or why people refer to Christ as X, and hopefully you will understand that the phycological system that is being employed is one that is based on belief. Belief is the antithesis of truth. I am not religious and don't believe in Yahweh, or Jesus, but I believe in Christianity as a powerful spiritual and psycological system that is great for kids and adults alike, and I truly hope that it will make peoples experience on earth a better place. We all know the truth, it vibrates throughout our DNA, so whatever we want to 'believe in' is harmless, so long as people don't get manipulated into being soldiers.

To the Xian haters out there, remember what your mama taught you, as most I don't think would approve of the foul and hateful language.

Peace, love, respect, unity

How about this? Everyone is right. Do any of us really give up our tightly held beliefs just because someone can make a good argument for a different answer? If we are not right shouldn't our view of things fall apart and be rendered meaningless? Doesn't the fact that we can pick up and move on prove that there is no one right answer or equation or reality? The long held belief (although some now challenge this) is that the universe is infinite. If so then that means there is an infinite number of worlds and within that infinite number of worlds there is an infinite number of world identical to ours. If so then within those worlds just like ours there is an infinite number of worlds with identical versions of ourselves doing an infinite number of things just like us and of those thins there are two infinite number of results and infinite number of same results and an infinite number of different results.

So therefore in an infinite universe, anything is possible. At least in theory.

This just in: earth's twin within 10-15 years:

'WE'LL FIND AN EXACT REPLICA OF EARTH IN 15 YEARS', SAYS NASA

According to one of Nasa's top planet hunters, we will find a planet with oceans like Earth in the next 15 years.

Dr John Mather is an astrophysicist at the Nasa Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, and the senior project scientist on the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).

The giant telescope will be used to find the first bright objects that formed in the universe, figure out how galaxies evolved and find out how stars formed.

But perhaps most excitingly, it will study Earth-like worlds beyond our solar system.

'We hope to find a planet that's Earth-like and measure its atmosphere to work out if it has enough water on it to make an ocean,' he said in an interview with

'I think that will be in around ten to 15 years from now.

'In that time we might be able to say: 'I can see that star over there. [Its planet] has a climate that's like Earth and it might have life on it.'

Anything and everything :) That's what makes the gods real. We all live in our own realities created by us.

How many times have you reacted or overreacted to a certain situation and later you realized " wow, that was silly of me, but the feeling was intense. Too bad I didn't have all the information before I flipped out!" In the moment, the feeling was real, but later with a new perspective, it's easy to look back and see that the reality was in fact temporary and now a completely new and different reality exists in our minds. Anything outside of our mind cannot consciously be perceived by us therefore what resides in ones mind is in fact reality. If one believes in God, God is real. Yes, everyone is correct:) Namaste

Hard to say...
I think the trouble with theoretical science is that it's all just untestable theories, whereas real science is supposed to be based on observation and experiment.
Science is in danger of becoming a religion itself- this theory seems to fit , so it must be right no matter how outlandish it sounds.

science already is a religion.everybody blames religions for war but if you ask me we couldnt have the wars we wage without science making weapons for the wars first.so is it all religions fault?

Sounds like religion has allowed science to advance in the weapons department.

Science has allowed Religion to stay in the lime light most wars are based on beliefs just like religion how many times have you been with friends talking about politics , religion, and a heated argument starts ???
just like this thread
Has Religion given a person longer life span ??? Nope Did Religion invent the polio vaccine ???
Religion is based really on DEATH scare tactics complete utter non sense Science on the other hand tries to make people live longer by studying and curing disease science also works on bettering your life religion on the other hand does non it messes with your life confuses you
But Hey people believe the shit pick n choose what they think is true come up with there theory and so on
Again complete utter BS
Gene digger mentions about the love everyone needs to live better life and the world to be as a whole ?????
In order for this to really happen , you will need to line up all the religious people in the world and shoot them burn all there religious bible non sense and make it a law you will be put to death if you mention anything about it ....
Then only then the human race can move on to the next level and strive for world piece .
Fact remains in all things you have to evolve if you own a company and stick to your old believes , or ways of doing things then you will fall behind in times and not be efficient
this is the Dilemma were in today forget bout the history and move forward into the future and that means drastic change
And flush religion down the toilet cause it has done NO GOOD non what so ever other then enslave the human race ... Hell the Governments are doing it rather well with out religion controlling your lifes

big bang violates the principal physical law that no matter/energy can be created from nothing.

my alternative explanation to the big bang is that Birkeland currents somehow short circuited. but that cannot be the beginning of anything besides our existence...there were the currents...

so where did the Birkeland currents come from?

electricity is just as mysterious as the notion of 'God'.

we make electricity by moving magnets through a circuit.

the planets and stars and galaxies are magnets, spinning and moving through what used to be called the void of space. we now know the void is nothing of the sort. it is full of energy and mass and can conduct electricity effectively and efficiently.

as these spin through the Birkeland currents they generate more current and associated magnetic fields, perpetuating the fields.

spinning in the same orientation they produce identical magnetic signatures/polarities which repel like forces causing the universe to expand.

what caused the electricity to begin with?

we needed a personage of equal mythical abilities to explain polarity.

help me out here....

Sticky sweetheart I know what polarity is...I want to know from whence it came...

is it a result of temperature gradient? if so, where did the difference come from?

religion would have it come from myth. science should know by now what causes electricity, yet it is nowhere explained.

where did hot and cold come from?

Spin projection quantum number and multiplicity

In classical mechanics, the angular momentum of a particle possesses not only a magnitude (how fast the body is rotating), but also a direction (either up or down on the axis of rotation of the particle). Quantum mechanical spin also contains information about direction, but in a more subtle form. Quantum mechanics states that the component of angular momentum measured along any direction can only take on the values [14]
S_i = \hbar s_i, \quad s_i \in \{ - s, -(s-1), \dots, s-1, s \} \,\!
where Si is the spin component along the i-axis (either x, y, or z), si is the spin projection quantum number along the i-axis, and s is the principal spin quantum number (discussed in the previous section). Conventionally the direction chosen is the z-axis:
S_z = \hbar s_z, \quad s_z \in \{ - s, -(s-1), \dots, s - 1, s \} \,\!
where Sz is the spin component along the z-axis, sz is the spin projection quantum number along the z-axis.

One can see that there are 2s+1 possible values of sz. The number "2s + 1" is the multiplicity of the spin system. For example, there are only two possible values for a spin-1/2 particle: sz = +1/2 and sz = −1/2. These correspond to quantum states in which the spin is pointing in the +z or −z directions respectively, and are often referred to as "spin up" and "spin down". For a spin-3/2 particle, like a delta baryon, the possible values are +3/2, +1/2, −1/2, −3/2.

Vector

A single point in space can spin continuously without becoming tangled. Notice that after a 360 degree rotation, the spiral flips between clockwise and counterclockwise orientations. It returns to its original configuration after spinning a full 720 degrees.
For a given quantum state, one could think of a spin vector \lang S \rang whose components are the expectation values of the spin components along each axis, i.e., \lang S \rang = [\lang S_x \rang, \lang S_y \rang, \lang S_z \rang]. This vector then would describe the "direction" in which the spin is pointing, corresponding to the classical concept of the axis of rotation. It turns out that the spin vector is not very useful in actual quantum mechanical calculations, because it cannot be measured directly: sx, sy and sz cannot possess simultaneous definite values, because of a quantum uncertainty relation between them. However, for statistically large collections of particles that have been placed in the same pure quantum state, such as through the use of a Stern–Gerlach apparatus, the spin vector does have a well-defined experimental meaning: It specifies the direction in ordinary space in which a subsequent detector must be oriented in order to achieve the maximum possible probability (100%) of detecting every particle in the collection. For spin-1/2 particles, this maximum probability drops off smoothly as the angle between the spin vector and the detector increases, until at an angle of 180 degrees—that is, for detectors oriented in the opposite direction to the spin vector—the expectation of detecting particles from the collection reaches a minimum of 0%.

As a qualitative concept, the spin vector is often handy because it is easy to picture classically. For instance, quantum mechanical spin can exhibit phenomena analogous to classical gyroscopic effects. For example, one can exert a kind of "torque" on an electron by putting it in a magnetic field (the field acts upon the electron's intrinsic magnetic dipole moment—see the following section). The result is that the spin vector undergoes precession, just like a classical gyroscope. This phenomenon is known as electron spin resonance (ESR). The equivalent behaviour of protons in atomic nuclei is used in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and imaging.

Mathematically, quantum mechanical spin states are described by vector-like objects known as spinors. There are subtle differences between the behavior of spinors and vectors under coordinate rotations. For example, rotating a spin-1/2 particle by 360 degrees does not bring it back to the same quantum state, but to the state with the opposite quantum phase; this is detectable, in principle, with interference experiments. To return the particle to its exact original state, one needs a 720 degree rotation. A spin-zero particle can only have a single quantum state, even after torque is applied. Rotating a spin-2 particle 180 degrees can bring it back to the same quantum state and a spin-4 particle should be rotated 90 degrees to bring it back to the same quantum state. The spin 2 particle can be analogous to a straight stick that looks the same even after it is rotated 180 degrees and a spin 0 particle can be imagined as sphere which looks the same after whatever angle it is turned through.

Joe enters the confessional and tells the priest that he has committed adultery.
"Oh, no," said the priest, thinking of the most promiscuous women in town. "Was it with Marie Brown?"
"I'd rather not say who it was."
"Was it with Betty Smith?"
"I'd rather not say," says Joe. So the priest gives him absolution and Joe leaves. While leaving the church, Joe's friend asks if he received absolution.
"Yes, and two very good leads!"

Satan appeared before a small town congregation. Everyone started screaming and running for the front church door, trampling each other in a frantic effort to get away.
Soon everyone was gone except for an elderly gentleman who sat calmly.
Satan walked up to him and said, "Don't you know who I am?"
The man replied, "Yep, sure do."
Satan asked, "Aren't you going to run?"
"Nope, sure ain't," said the man.
Satan asked, "Why aren't you afraid of me?"
The man replied, "Been married to your sister for over 48 years."
