Nigerian Haze ~f1 Isolation / Preservation Project

I've been off IC mag for a bit. The Nigerian Haze preservation project was a success. There were 2 females and 3 males. One male exhibited the more Nevil Haze traits.

The current project is JJ's Nigerian F1. This is The first version made. JJ selected the most nld hazy male from Nevil's original pre-90 5haze and the Nigerian Silk clone only.

JJ "from the original Sensi pack before they changed the design". These were just repacked 5haze from Nevil's The Seed Bank

The pack was provided by Chemtentflodo on IG.
5 made it through embryo rescue. 4 females and 1 male. These are the siblings of JJ's selection of JJ's Nigerian that is in Nigerian Haze and all subsequent lines.

I am very excited about these. This is an original C5 male to a pure sativa. All plants are exhibiting the curl leaf mutation or the original Nevil's 5haze.

There is only 1 that is the stature of a hybrid. The NL5 in there. The others are equatorial haze build. From 15-year-old pack to 15-year-old pack reaching all the way back.

I will also say great to hear from you @Stoneguru and get an update on this project.

I have such limited knowledge but do greatly appreciate the dedication and thorough details you provide on every journal of yours I took the time to read.

This one is obviously very special and looks to be a great success so far. I’m following along just to see you succeed. I feel like a distant cousin watching from the hospital lobby if that makes any sense……

Doing even limited updates here is understandable and appreciated.

Kudos to you all!!!

Thank you @Airloom 🙏🏼. I hope your journey for your ol'Thai is coming along too!

I looked back on this thread and realized I didn't conclude the Nigerian Haze (JJ's Nigerian x O-haze) preservation report before jumping into JJ's Nigerian.

There were some sharper notes and incense, but she was fully seeded so I didn't get the best impression.

The seed was included in the 2024 haze collection.

The male was definitely favoring the 5haze side and had the mutations and a strong stem rub. The goal was accomplished of preservation, but there was only 1 male so only one version

I will rerun this cut and get it a little of the JJ's Nigerian pollen.

This would effectively be an out-back. JJ's selection of JJ's Nigerian/O-Haze crossed to the JJ's Nigerian male In this collection. That may open up a range of potentials that get somewhat bottlenecked.

Thanks brother, how are you?

Well today forums isn't are what's used to be

The golden years of forums are gone
What I can say is wherever you feel most appreciated, stay there.
I'm still on forums just for the good old friends I can still find around
Very grateful. Family is wonderful. We are almost done building the primary features of our off-grid cabin. Been saying that for awhile, but keeps going.

I've been scrolling to catch up and for the most part it seems like I might be. Tom's is looking great on his selection criteria.

It does seem like things have quieted down. Maybe IG or discord pealed off a bunch.

Forum is still a great way to document. How about on the Mexican lines. Anything exciting or interesting on that front? I put out an inquiry on the trichome stems a while back and nothing came back for land race Colombian or Thai for that haze trait.

A strong indicator that the early Mexican selections are coming through on the haze that I like.

Have you noticed it on any of your Mexican hunts?

That's how I feel about it. The crew of haze enthusiasts actively breeding is relatively small, but they have collectively brought back haze more in the last 2 years then the last 20.

Inadvertently it is Probably because of what they disagree about as much as what they do agree about.

It seems in some circles it's diving right back into haze hybrids...and having just barely skirted on its potential again.

I'm more than happy shooting the shit with those haze heads in it for the long journey 😅

JJ's Nigerian has some biggy heads. All those old 5haze smells. It's all there in ratios. Not one is quiet... Rich, full seductive and gassy with liver metal wood and Incense notes all mixed. It's good and nothing clashes, but it's also all mixed together rather than isolations. Brings me back to that time.

Not having the reference of its full potential It is easy to comprehend how 5haze was selected in different directions but not necessarily back to haze or cleaned up.

JJ said these were original pack and based on what I have here it's confirmed. The flip side. In the 4 females I don't have the male C haze outlier I remember with the full pineneedle frankincense fuel. That one was probably always a 1:20 or more anyway

The most important part is this is out to Nigerian, and not further adulterated to BLD and/or inbreeding at this stage.

This is the closest thing I know of to the original aside from a few cuts floating around out there.. everything the 5C could be is right there.

With the male on each one and all the combinations I'll be able to break it open in a generation to anything in there with this count
