I think i did bet against the colts to cover, they were +2.5 dogs against the steelers so that won. Dogs have been winning a lot the past 2 weeks, think they went 8-5 yesterday. If u had been able to selectively pick against bad teams, like patriots, then you could have gone 9-4.

Have u ever tried micro-dosing, Superx? I hear the young kids like to do that nowadays, it enables them to still remain functional yet expand their minds as well, help them think outside of the box, so to speak.

You live near a mountain? I only saw some gently rolling hills in your landscapes, living near a hike-able mountain would be very nice, get some exercise, enjoy nature and the view, and also yeah enjoy some hallucinogens.

Do u like ur steak blue like this?
blue-steak.jpg
blue-steak v1.jpg

That's a bit too rare for me but i could eat that and still enjoy it, i think. What about u, Hawk? Too rare for your blood?

Ah u were an old school Rams, before they moved to st louis. Ive heard of roman gabriel, he was one of the first Filipino-american players I believe. Maybe the only one, not sure. And ive heard of the fearsome foursome as well but that name was applied to other dominant D-lines of that age. Did the rams win any championships during that time, or came close?

With 99 plants u could grow some monster trees. Was the farming physically harder than the concrete/masonry work or less so? I'd imagine trimming season was a grind. I can feel my carpal tunnel acting up just thinking about trimming endless lbs of outdoor...

Is that bolts on neck pic recent? Im surprised the scar is still that visible, but it's only been 6 yrs so makes sense. As i get older i think my skin doesnt regenerate as fast as it used to so scars linger longer than when i was younger.

Id have to force my mouth open like this in order to fit it in sideways, Superx, and even that's not wide enough. Speaking of which, have you ever seen anyone eat a burrito starting in the middle first? The woman does that sometimes, to avoid all the tortilla at the ends. Like a criminal, she doesnt believe society's rules apply to her.

Hey Kevinn, the bears have the panthers, jaguars, a bye, then the 'skins game around Halloween (Oct 27).
What do u think of Jayden Daniels? Is he another RG3, but with pocket passing skills? I hope he has better health than RG3, truly, he seems easily the best of the 2024 QB class so far.

I never try to carry more than $1-200 on me, but that must have been a scene, Bigsur, you injured in the truck and your girlfriend trying to gather all the loose bills. A passerby might have wondered if it was some sort of mob hit gone wrong.

That's an interesting game, Buzz, try to pick up sticks without disturbing the others. Like Jenga, only more primitive.

Got 2 MNF games on tonite, one on ABC one on espn, Tenn at Miami and Seattle at Detroit. Not sure i want to see Will Levis fumble around vs 'been on the team 1 week' Snoop Huntley but it might be entertaining, Sea/Det should be decent tho...

@Bababooey the LA Rams only made the playoffs twice from 1956 to 1972….horrible..1067 and 1969 they made the playoffs…

I cannot think of any harder work than finishing concrete

Working in the garden was pleasure and fun and I can stop and take a break whenever I wanted to

Not so with concrete… when that shit starts to set up one better get up and get after it…. if not, they may be running a 90 lb jackhammer the next day…

I suffered with Fisker’s Deranged Syndrome a few years and then I finally got some of those spinning salad bowl trimmers and three people , we could go through 10-20 pounds a day

I will bet it was 15 to 25 vehicles and 30 minutes later before a trucker finally pulled over to check on us…

Roman Ildonzo Gabriel Jr.(August 5, 1940 – April 20, 2024) was an American professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the NC State Wolfpack, twice earning first-team All-American honors. Gabriel was the second overall pick in the 1962 NFL draft and played for the Los Angeles Rams for 11 seasons then five years for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was notable for being the first NFL quarterback of Filipino-American descent, as well as winning the NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in 1969.[1]

In my opinion Jayden Daniels s far superior to RG3 in every way. And they did not have to bankrupt the franchise to get him. What a difference a mobile quarterback makes. The defense is always guessing and makes the linemens' job easier . Too bad we did not have some more quality receivers.

i think the bahn mi sandwiches i get ( a type of vietnamese sandwich) has like a pate spread on it and it brings all the flavor, so i might try and spread some on bread next time i make sandwiches
i wonder is the money is still out there
i used to love to off road
ive rolled before down some pretty steep stuff and i am here to say, seatbelts save lives
a full trip in the spin cycle for what seemed like forever; i heard a disembodied voice cry out "oh shit" (that was me)
the truck came to a rest upside down and i ended up suspended from the ceiling
the radio was still blaring so i tuned it off and had the presence of mind to put my hand above my head before i released the seatbelt

@buzzmobile
im going to have to remember some of those baby fart moves , maybe i should join a yoga class and show off my skills
i remember those wham-o frisbees and the other ones where it was just the outside edges, like a hollowed out circle
i thought i could throw but i have a friend who is into the frisbee golf, its ok fun and they have a variety of disks depending on the target but this guy can send em
fins play tonight against an 0-3 tits team, im looking forward to the show

i love her so i will always make her that one steak, or trim up mer meat or pull the ribs off the bone for her
unless you are going to a certain flavor i just put s/p on my steaks
i went through a phase where i was putting all kinds of seasonings on my meat but now im pretty basic

@superx
yeah man, i love to star gaze
camping season is kicking off and i love camping in the mountains and desert
clear skies where there are a million stars and not a sounds to be heard except for nature

the girl used to go all and the mrs used to put on a show
now its just me and a big bowl of candy

Yeah, you dont hear much about the Rams of the late 60s to 70s, maybe due to their lack of playoff success. Sounded like they had some darn good players tho; MVP, one of the best d-lines in history (im always partial to the '85 bears tho), a hall of fame coach whose children became very successful in their own right.

Hehe, ill admit finishing concrete was not something ive done, but that's a good point, it's all hands on deck once it's poured, u only get one chance to make it right.
Have u ever had to re-do a concrete job cause it wasnt done right?

Ive seen those salad spinner trimmers, were they expensive? I also saw some electrics motorized contraption that looked like a metal tunnel where the buds got trimmed as they tumbled along, thing cost thousands. I guess thats more industrial use.

Gotta love truckers, they know the rules of the road, that someone can die if a passerby doesnt stop. Do u stop when u see stalled vehicles or accidents now?

Yeah, that's a good point, Kevinn, the Rams got a haul of extra picks to trade the #2 overall to Washington. Like two 2nd rounders and a 3rd? And one game the Rams coach, jeff fisher, sent those picks out for the coin toss when they played the 'skins (when that name wasnt racist). None of those picks ever amounted to much, i think, so it wasnt the diss he maybe wanted it to be.

Yeah maybe liverwurst is best as a complement or spread to a sandwich. The british have a spread called marmite thats made from brewer's yeast and adds a savory component to foods. You ever eat marmite, Superx?

I cant imagine being in a rollover, Pops, there's really not anything u can do. Brace yourself, go limp, it just happens so fast and violently.

Sounds like ur sister and Superx should never share a steak, Pops. Lol, not sure why some people dont like any pink in their steak, maybe they associate it with germs or something.

Ive got some victory ball pics but we dont want to scare off the newcomers.

The panhandler buddy did 15 yrs for robbery/kidnapping? Should have executed any witnesses, then he would never have been caught. That's what i would have done.
Ah hahaha, im only goshing.
But have u ever wanted to kill a man, Hawk? Like just choke someone out, with your bare hands, until they die? Maybe we should start with your friend.
Seriously tho, it's wasteful to throw out food people purposefully buy you. DB should panhandle for his meals, that would free up a good portion of his disposable income.

The "Fearsome Foursome" of the Los Angeles Rams

CHRIS YOUNGJULY 25, 2010

FearsomeFoursome_crop_north.jpg

The Los Angeles Rams “Fearsome Foursome” came alive in the 1960s and became the most dominant defensive line of their era and respectively of all time.

Dick Butkus even called them "the most dominant line in football history.”

Other teams such as the New York Giants (1957), Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers (1961), and the Detroit Lions (1962) received the nickname “Fearsome Foursome.”

Those front lines were short lived.
In 1963, the Los Angeles Rams acquired defensive tackle Rosey Grier from the New York Giants in exchange for defensive tackle John LoVetere and a high future draft pick.

Rosey would then join forces with Lamar Lundy, Merlin Olsen, and Deacon Jones as the Los Angeles Rams starting defensive line.

Shortly after, they became known as the Fearsome Foursome.

In 1966, these four guys would reign terror on opposing teams ranking second best in the league.

They would continue the same success through the 1969 season. They would have a few alterations to line during that time.

During the preseason of 1967, Grier suffered an injury and retired. The Rams traded for Roger Brown of the Detroit Lions.

Hall of Fame Rams guard Tom Mack recalled his first run-in with Brown when he played for the Lions. "I dove at him and hit him too high, and it was like hitting a solid wall," Mack said. "He slapped my helmet so hard it almost tore my head off."

Like Deacon Jones, Brown’s signature move was the head slap.

The season of 1967 was the year the team took off. Prior to the '67 season, the Rams had not made the playoffs since 1955 and broke a streak of eight losing seasons.

From 1959-1965 the Rams registered a 25-65-4 performance.

By the time of the 1967 season, the team led the league in both offense and defense in points scored (398) and points allowed (196) while establishing a franchise best 11-1-2 season.

Due to the success of the season, the defense front four got the attention they deserved. The nickname “Fearsome Foursome” started to stick and well deserved.

From 1967-69, the Rams were 32-7-3 and won two division titles, and defense fueled that success.

The Rams front four were the main focal point during the 1960s.

The Rams had the misfortune, despite their record and regular season victory over the Packers, of having to go to Milwaukee for a playoff game played in frigid conditions, and they lost.

The front four made the Rams the hardest team to score on in the NFL.

They only allowed only 196 points in 14 games in 1967.

From 1964-1968, the Fearless Foursome allowed the fewest rushing yards in the NFL.

They also averaged 44 quarterback sacks in a five-year time frame.

In 1969 Coy Bacon replaced Roger Brown and Diron Talbert replaced Lamar Lundy as starters. Ram defense took a hit, but not by much.

Deacon Jones made the term you know today “sack” famous.

During 1967, Jones would earn the unofficial sack record of 26 quarterback takedowns.

The feat is not a record because the sack did not become an official statistic until 1982.

One thing that made him so great, he came from the left side of the line—which is opposite of the quarterback's blind side.

Jones was in full view of quarterbacks, yet they still could not escape the fierce competitor in him.

Jones would go on to have great success making All-Pro five times (1965-1969) and played in eight Pro Bowls (1964-1970, and 1972).

Merlin Olsen was a huge contributor to the success of Deacon Jones and the Rams front four for so many season.

Deacon and Olsen were great counterparts to each other’s game and success in the league.

Olsen once said, "Every quarterback we met was so ready for the rush that he threw the ball quicker. We didn't always get him, but we put the thought in his mind."

"Deac and I had a great unspoken rapport on the field," Olsen said.

"After playing together for so long, we'd learn to anticipate each other's moves. I never had to worry about him."

Deacon replied, "We were lucky enough to blend so well. We put pressure on the quarterback on every play."

Lamar Lundy sometimes went unrecognized of the Fearsome Foursome, but he had an enormous amount of strength and size.

He played for the Rams for 13 seasons (1957-1969).

Lundy was notorious for always honoring his assignment. Because he typically stayed at home, it permitted Jones and Olsen the freedom to roam and cause havoc.

Deacon Jones and Merlin Olsen are both in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Ram’s Ring of Honor, and the NFL’s 75th Anniversary Team.

During their time of play, they were often considered one of the best defensive lines in football history, along with the Purple People Eaters of the Minnesota Vikings and the Steel Curtain of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Ohhh, Deacon Jones. Well everyone knows who he is. Did not realize he played on a dominant D-line with the Rams. Very cool. I guess he was the best defensive player (or defensive lineman at least) of the 60s, Mean Joe Greene was the best in the 70s, and Lawrence taylor and reggie white had the 80s and 90s.

That Rosey grier guy lived an interesting life. Shortly after he retired he was working as a bodyguard for Robert Kennedy when RFK was shot. Rosey actually helped disarm Sirhan Sirhan and had to protect him from being beaten to death after the shooting.

Replacing a battery is pretty simple, id be worried if the alternator is still working properly. If they have a multimeter (there are cheap ones) or can take it to a shop they can check and make sure voltage is getting to the battery while it's running, i think around 14v is good.

So you were going down an incline or up one when u rolled ur truck over, Pops? I think anything over a 20% incline would have me white knuckled on the steering wheel. Maybe u could have made it if your vehicle was set up differently. Different tires or suspension or something.

Nice pic, was that some sort of specialized shooting range? They use small howitzers like that in the rockies, before skiing season theyll fire at the snowpack to induce avalanches, makes it safer for the skiers.

Titans handled the dolphins with their backup QB, mason rudolph, and lions won a shootout with the seahawks. Miami's offense couldnt get anything going for the most part, tyreek hill hasnt broken 50yds rec in a game since Tua's been out. On the bright side they say he's symptom free and could return week 8. Miami might be 1-7 by then however.
This will be the last double MNF feature. Next week begin the overseas games, so sunday football starts at 830am my time, 630 ur time Pops. Is that too early to pre-game?

I know a euphemism when I read one. Wash your before you post again.
Merlin Olsen
He retired to a Little House on the Prairie and became a preacher.

Roman Gabriel was a big QB and his long passes were thrown with a very launch angle.
