Haha thanks man. I made sure to put some mac n cheese on my plate as well no worries. I could have made the whole thing better though: smoked the turkey on the cooker thoroughly instead of halfway. I made the mac n cheese with a Velveeta cheese sauce (milk and Velveeta) on the stove and that tasted better than putting it in a pan, topping it with shredded mozzarella and baked it in the oven, seemed to reduce the Velveeta flavor somewhat. The stuffing I made with coconut oil instead of butter (ran out of butter, doh!) and has a slight coconut taste, still good though but I could have done without. And the potatoes just had S&P, no sour cream or butter or anything. Really sucks to run out of butter when youre cooking a holiday meal lol.

The BK stacker wasn’t actually that good, just beefy, which is good in a burger but lets face it bk aint exactly high quality lol. I’d rank it 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] behind wendy’s and mcd’s as far as quality of ingredients. I used the app so I got a buy one get one free and two burgers for $6 it was still a ‘meh’ deal.
I used to spray oil on air fries but don’t anymore, they actually feel kind of oily out of bag so they don’t really need it if you eat them quick, however if you want them to stay crispy when they start cooling down then some oil would help.

Yeah, that lady insisted that she go holiday food shopping with my woman before the meal, she didn’t say it but we all knew we had to pay for it lol. It wasn’t so bad but this dumb lady is so cheap she had my woman drive like 20 miles round trip out of her way to go to a cheaper fresh produce market instead of paying an extra $1.50 for vegetables at the Asian grocery store. I’m like geez lady have you seen gas prices lately? But she’s kind of dumb like that, where her stinginess ends up costing her more money in the long run.

Kyler will definitely win an mvp at some point in his career but it all depends on if he can stay healthy. Youre right his size may work against him in that regard, he got tackled at the end of the packers game and was out with a sprained ankle for 3 games. Right now he’s got a 19-7 td-int ratio with 5 td’s rushing, if he can put together a 35 pass td’s and 10 rush td’s season he’ll definitely be a top mvp pick, only way he’d lose is if some QB had a 50 pass td season.

Stafford was a top 3 passer in the league the first 8 weeks but has since fallen off pretty hard. This might be a pattern too with mcvay, that his QBs do much better the first half of the season than the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] half. Like u said, the Jags didn’t offer much resistance, we’ll see how they do in their rematch with AZ on MNF.

Last time I did a long road trip it was from Washington state to Illinois during the summer, and we would drive from noon to midnight, and it kind of sucked once it got dark since there were so many deer on the roads. Saw at least 6-7 during the 5 day trip, thankfully no accidents or near misses but I hit a deer once long ago, effed up my car and killed the deer but not a scratch on me at least. So I hope your plan at driving at night works out ok, so long as there arent any deer on the roads should be fine...

happening baba! how are your holiday plans coming along
a might get one last weekend whole of football before the holidays and there are a couple games im going to watch
bills/ bucs is a good one and i will also be interested in the bengals/ 9ers
cowboys/ wash is also on my radar. i still think wft could be a dark horse if their D can keep it up and the new young qb continues to imporve
the things with him is, i hear the wft will be looking for a new qb most likely, so he is just a place holder
but if he can ball out and get them to the playoffs, it could mean some job security
raiders/chiefs is the other game on my menu and i cant wait to dig ini know the mrs has her shopping friends and can see them driving all over to get certain things
looks like the chargers might have a couple of their top wide outs on the covid list
i can big wanting to shop at a certain store but if you arent driving there better be some deals to make it worht going out of your way
the last time we ran out of butter the mrs used mayo to make grilled cheeses and they were actually awesome! she once buttered my morning toast with mayo w/o telling me and i dident really notice it that much
i used to love the taste of velvita and would make nachos with that and some hot peppers
its not real cheese but has a very creamy texture that is kind of good in a sloppy meat eatters kind of way
i like beefy burgers, habit has some good meaty burgers, more meaty than in n out
smash burger was ok but the people who work at the local joint are a bunch of fish sticks and i wont go back
i miss fudruckers!
hey man, ever hear of a news ladt named jenny milkowski? i guyess she was from the chi area before coming to san diego
she is really fun to watch and just landed an anchor spot at one of the 2nd tier stations locally
we booked the mrs ticket out to tx yesterday and i will mmost likey leave cali in a couple week; she will fly out later and we are going to drive back together again
/im thinking of flipping this into a v'tines day thing if i can
we are planning out return trip and hoping to check out some cool places in the south west
hope your week is wrapping up nicley, we have winter weather here and its just going to get colder witha nice fat storm rolling in from the north
have a great frieday and enjoy the calm before the holiday storm brother!

Yknow, maybe I should have used mayo instead of coconut oil in the stuffing, you couldn’t really taste the coconut in the stuffing but there was a definite coconut smell to it, and smell is closely associated with taste so… Not that it was bad, I like coconut, but some food smelling like it when you don’t expect it isnt great.
There’s a chain out here called Portillo’s, they have some locations in AZ, theyre known for their Italian beefs but they sell burgers and dogs and salads and stuff too, but they sell a chocolate cake that they use mayo in. It’s a good cake, rich and chocolately, and people like it but it’s always a surprise when they find out mayo was used to make it.
Yeah, I used that mayo trick to make grilled cheese and it was pretty much like using butter, mayo is basically eggs and oil so maybe it’s like butter with more protein?

Sounds like youre interested in all the matchups between playoff teams, which is understandable. Cant really bear (pun intended) to watch bears games now, although I think fields is starting vs the packers on SNF so we’ll see if he can do something. If they fall behind by 20+ pts I’ll probably turn it off lol.
Keenan allen has covid but mike Williams tested negative so should play.

Ive heard Habit is pretty good too bad we don’t have any around here, or smash burgers. Haha, what do you mean when a person is a ‘fish stick’? That’s a new one to me.
Fuddrucker’s was solid but I hardly ever went, the one near me closed but theyre still in business but down to only 99 locations. I think there’s too many premium burger locations nowadays, along with the mom and pop shops it’s too many choices. There was a small franchise around me called Meatheads, ive only been there like 2-3x in 12 years but covid finally killed their business last year. It was good but paying $12-15 for a burger meal puts you in that 5 guys and shake shack tier where it’s hard to be better than them. And honestly you have I&O where $7-8 gets you a meal that’s on par with paying twice that much at a more premium place. Here maybe it would be culver’s or steak n shake.

Never heard of jenny milkowski but I hardly ever watch local news, preferring to read it online. Looking at her bio sounds like she trained at 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] City which is this big improvisational comedy act in Chicago, a lot of SNL people come from there including big ones like dan akroyd, bill murray, chris Farley etc. So if she’s entertaining with the comedy and likes to keep things light and fun then good for the viewers, too much news is about horrible stuff.

Youre going to turn the Texas trip into a V-day thing? How long are you going to be out there, brother? Cause V-day isnt for 6 weeks after new years.
If you pass through New Mexico on the way back from TX I hear NM has a bunch of cool stuff to see, northern NM is more like CO with mountains and stuff, southern is more desert, Albuquerque is a fun city I think.

Last night we had some big windstorms and next week might be in the 60s so we’ll see how the weather goes. Also next week college football bowl season starts, might catch some games of that also. Hope both our teams do well this weekend even though theyre both underdogs (bears by 12.5pts!) so we’ll see how it goes…

That raiders chiefs game was a blowout early on, think KC was up 35 at the half? No point really in watching the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] half unless youre a KC fan. Dallas and WFT was a 1 score win for the ‘boys, whose coach guaranteed a win. Neither offense performed very well though, dallas finished with 325yds of offense and WFT 225.
Bears, based on some good special teams play, were actually up at the half against the pack before losing by 15pts. Ah well, Fields had a couple td passes at least and some decent runs. Also had a pick 6 too which isnt good, but none of the rookie passers this year are playing well besides mac jones, who has the best team and coach of the bunch, and also barely passes some games.

Ah ok, haven’t heard the F-stick pejorative in a while, I thought fish stick had something to do with fish or the ocean lol.

There’s a chain called Cookout in the Southeast US that’s known for having home made burgers etc for really good prices. But I guess for cheap burgers decent quality burgers you always have I&O and JitB. Ive heard good things about Habit and they actually have a chicago location on the west part of downtown, will definitely have to check them out sometime. What's good there?

More pics of food.

Taco bell
Used their app, had a free bean burrito using reward points (think you have to spend like $20-25 to get a free food award, takes me like 3 mths to spend that much since i dont go often), plus they’ve been giving out free daily food awards for the holiday season. Added beef, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream (make it supreme add on) to the bean burrito and for like $2 had what was basically a burrito supreme. Not that burrito supremes at taco bell are all that good, but it was aight for the price.

Chipotle – ordered on the app and used a free side of guac reward they routinely give out. If you order a burrito bowl you can order big tortilla’s on the side for 25c each, and you can order extra burrito toppings for no charge except for meat, with enough toppings you can basically make 2 burritos for $10 or so. Was enough to feed me and the woman and the pupper. Best of all on the app don’t have to wait in no long ass line, once the purchase goes through it’s done in about 10 minutes or so and the bag is left for you on a shelf by the checkout, just grab and go.

Rib tips and hot links with fries (buried at the bottom) from some rib & chicken joint on the west side of Chicago called Wiley’s. Smothered in ‘mild sauce’ which is a thin, more watery bbq sauce (the other choice would be ‘hot sauce’ which is basically Louisiana style hot sauce). This place apparently mixes their mild sauce with orange soda and honey, and it was definitely very sweet (on the verge of being too sweet, really, but it complemented the savory meat well) and had a bit of a citrus flavor. A large rib tip and link combo was $13 and felt like it weighed 3-4 lbs, enough for 2 meals easily unless you fancied a food coma. Tips and links (sausage) were done over charcoal too so had that nice bbq flavor to them; sausage was high quality and not too processed, had some texture/grit to the inside. We got another combo with wings and tips and the chicken was good as well, battered and deep fried perfectly, no wonder this place was busy at dinner time, locals know what’s up lol.

the bears game dident look that bad for the fist half and i think j.fields has a lot of potential
the defense had some big plays for both teams but i also chalk up some of that win to a.rog
chargers looked solid on both sides of teh ball as did the chiefs
the afc.w could still produce two playoff teams
/raider nation is in shambles since the firing of gruden; denver dosent have the fire power to match up
the one team i would watch out for right now is sf, i would not want to meet up with them right about now and we will see if they can nab that3rd playoof wild card spot
/checks schedule and sees we are playing them in the last game of the season
bengals have a tough schedule to finish out the season and we will see about l.jax ankle
//same j.allen
i am still a bill'ever but indy looks like they might be getting hot right now, i dont know if the bengals can hang on
i will have to keep my eye open for this other chain called cookout! man, im going to be eatting good on the way home
taco bell has this weird charm that i cant shake; i dont go there that much anymore and i dont buy anything more than i can eat fresh
but man, they are still good
/the mrs likes them because of the potatoe tacos
habit has great burgers and you cant go wrong with thier ring, or better yet, get the half and half, half fries and half rings
they also have fried green beans that are prtty good
i dont really go to chipoles, they are kind of too much for what they are in my book, but i know a lot of people who love their food
/i figure if im going to spend that much on mex im going to a proper taco shop
it looks really good thoe and if i do drop by i will be sure to rememebr to get the xtra large tortillas
thsoe ribs look great and i like a good hot link!
ive enver heard of putting orange soda in your sauce but i can dig it! i do put honey in my sauces, especially my terriaki sauces
gives a nice sweet balance to the saltyness
they look well cooked and i bet they were falling off the bone
plus is that taters and gravy i see there?! that looks grinding and i would eat that up
ive been getting chicken wings at kfc lately and then saucing them at home
the one near my house has nice large pieces and the extra crispy soaks up a lot of goodness
cant wait for the rams game to start, im having some beef tacos i made and a spicy cabbage salad/ cole slaw type thing for the most part
this is one game i wsh we had c.akers abck in
the other day we went to the .99c store and i scored a bunch of peanuttles
dont buythem unless you want to be eatting crunchy sweet and salty goodness my man!
im a lost cause but there is still hope for others
enjoy the game and go rams!

Rams beat the Cards last night, both Stafford and Donald looked very good last night, if they play like that from now on they can win a superbowl for sure. Sony michel handled the RB duties and Darrell Henderson got another week off, and OBJ scored again, maybe the issue in Cleveland was baker Mayfield. I guess the browns are going to franchise mayfield for 28M when his rookie contract runs out (they already picked up his 5[SUP]th[/SUP] yr option for next yr) just to see if he can really prove he’s the man; it’s rough though, this year he was injured early on. Before he got injured, he was completing like 80% of his passes. But it’s not great when OBJ scored 3 td’s in the last season and a half with the browns, and in his first 3 games with the rams scored 3 td’s.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of Gruden’s lawsuit vs the league, for leaking his scandalous emails from the WFT investigation. I hope he wins, lol, I don’t condone what he said but they did him dirty. Im sure he’s not the only one who sent scandalous emails, but he’s the only one who got ‘leaked’.
Broncos pass offense hasn’t been good but they’ve been winning lately with defense and the run game – MG3 and their rookie Javonte Williams have been tearing it up. Theyre 7-6, tied with the bills, browns and bengals, bills have the last wildcard spot by virtue of tie-breakers. Broncos were another team that looked like they might fire their coach after the season, but they’ve gone 4-2 their last 6 games so not doing so terribly, at least lately. If they finish 7-10 though im sure they’ll move on from Vic Fangio, maybe he can come back and be the DC for the bears again.

Cookout is strictly in the Carolina area, with some locations in Virginia, Alabama, Georgia, etc. Not in the Midwest or the west coast or southwest yet, im afraid. But yknow, you have lots of great burger options in SoCal, and you’ll have Whataburger and bbq in TX, so there’s plenty to occupy your palate.

There was this somewhat fancy burger place in the burbs here called Burgerfi, I think theyre mostly in Florida but had a couple locations around Chicago, they had good burgers and fries and onion rings, you could order half fries and half rings too, they called it Cry and Fry lol. I also think you can get frozen onion rings at the store that taste like theyre hand dipped, maybe not Costco or sams but Walmart or your local grocery. I do love a nice beer battered onion ring, it's like a fry but with actual flavor instead of just potato.

Some people really love Chipotle, will eat there every day almost, I like it well enough but I agree with you, if you got access to real deal tacos then spending $10 there is better than $10 at chipotle. I hear the taco trucks in California can be amazing, you ever hit them up?

We have a good Thursday night game, chargers vs chiefs, and then 2 Saturday games now that college football is over, except for bowl season. KC is favored by 3 at LA, you think they cover or no?

i guess i read your last post wrong, i thought cookout was in the sw; my bad
i will definitely be going back to braums while in tx so i got my burger game covered and there ware a few other places i would like to eat at
one of them is this place called potatoe factory, they have sandwiches and other stuff, but you go there for their loaded baked potatoes
even the basic one (sour cream/ cheese) is rockin and they have limited time specials as well
/i got a country fried baked potatoe while i was there; you got it! country fried steaks and loaded baked potatoe!
i dont really do the food truck thing, they are often as expensive or more than a regualr resturant
/plus i get to stand outside or eat in the cara witha bunch of hipster sticks! sign me up1
i have a couple places i like to get my mexican food, solid joints with great food and good prices
they can get busy at times (dont go on tuesday) but i eat at weird hours so i can usually hit them up off hours
that was the rams team we have been waiting all season to see
stafford was making some great throws and the defense was solid even w/o j'ram
/i liked the eway that young db played who filled in for him
i agree that gruden was done dirty and i wonder who wanted him out? the raidders are a shit show right now
they started out with carr in the drivers seat but he played like an mvp candidate, but have been on a major slide since
denver has an interesting team but i dont see them matching up on the next level, gordon has only has two 100+yd games all season and i dont think they have the passing game to cary the team
chargers v chiefs is a great game and the only way kc dosent cover is with a chargers W
the bolts have solid players at each level and could be dangerous, but with the defense heating up i tihnk kc is the winner
/besides, the chargers dont deserve nice things and have i mentioned #f-spanos lately?
i wont get to watch the saturday night games
we are heading back to the desert this weekend and i wont be back until siunday night
im going to pick up the statue for my sister and hike some new spots!
plus we found some itneresting minerals last time we were out there i need to ask a friend about, i think they are calcite
made some cheese enchilladas lasy night but i used flour tortillas instead of corn
they came out bomb! super fluffy and soaked up the sauce like i like plus have a verylight fluffy taste!
im going to soak up as much football as i can toorrow and that will ahve to hold me until sunday night

Potato factory sounds dope, who doesn’t love potatoes? Fried, mashed, baked with toppings, etc. Throw enough toppings and meat on a potato and it’s basically a meal, not a side. You ever try pierogi? It’s this dumpling with a mashed potato filling, boiled and then served covered in hot butter. It’s a polish food and damn if it doesn’t hit the spot, alongside some chicken or beef.

I could see taco trucks not being a great option if you prefer actual tables and if the prices aren’t any better than an actual sit down place. Plus you know those trucks aren’t as sanitary as a real brick and mortar place, with running water and such. Trucks can have running water and greywater tanks but I’d imagine it’s limited, cooks cant wash up as much as in a real store. Then again a busy cook probably doesn’t have much opportunity to wash up, no matter how plentiful water is.

Gordon’s stats have been limited cause he’s pretty much in a 50/50 timeshare with the rookie, javonte Williams. But they’ve both been viable fantasy players even though they split carries. But denver’s not going to get anywhere without a really good QB, bridgewater is pretty decent at times, I thought earlier this season he was doing a pretty good job throwing downfield but for whatever reason the passing game hasn’t been there lately.

Chargers will have Keenan allen back for tomorrow night vs the chiefs but some of their linebackers might be out because of positive covid tests. They’ve already been a poor run defense, maybe the chiefs will decide to keep it on the ground. I’d like to see both Herbert and mahomes chuck it all over the field though. Also F-spanos.

Sounds like you’ll have a fun time out in the desert, it’s good that you let your ankle get to 100% first. Pick up the sculpture, check out some new spots, maybe nab some interesting looking minerals.

Speaking of potatoes, here’s the last of the holiday turkey meal that I made, this time I had butter AND sour cream to put on my boiled potato. Much improved. Now I only have some turkey left, might have to make some spaghetti or something.

yeah man, who dosent like a good potatoe dish?
i had a friend who made perogis, but they deep fried them
https://the-potato-factory.business.site/
this is the place and it looks like they are moving into the same area as braums! oh man, i am going to be in fat kid heaven
the mrs makes a mean latka and i might have to see if we can make some over the holidays, top it with sour creak (the mrs likes to use greek yogurt) and some green onions
that plate looks grinding man and if you ahve turket left overs you can doa lot with them
i like to eat a turkey sandwich with the bigger peices but you can also make this ball with the stuffing, mc and cheese
i mixed the stuffing, turkey meat and mashed potatoes together and made balls out of it, then rolled it in bread crumbs and baked them
mix in that mac and cheese and you are eatting good my man!
i was talking to a friend about the way covid could impact the playoffs and i wonder if that will be a factor this year?
chiefs seem to have a dual rb game going too right now with ceh and d.williams sharing carries
add in mahommes and his wheels and you have a legit run threat on any down
herbert played good last week completeing some long passes but i think the chiefs defense is a step above the giants
i hope this turns into a shoot out and could see the over being 50+ pts
im going to fill up on the football tonight and hopefully we will be back in time for some sunday night action
with some recent hard rains i will definitely go back and see if anything new has been unearthed
its going to be freezing cold at night, here in the coast, my back yard thermometer said it was in the mid-30s this morning
it should be a little warmer in the desert but i and bringing some cold weather gear just to be warm at night
hope you are getting ready for the holidays man, can you believe christmas is abvout just a week away

Deep fried pierogi’s sound awesome, of course deep frying anything makes it better haha. I knew a girl who used to love deep frying ravioli, that’s good too, with a little marinara as dipping sauce, think some Italian joints serve that as an appetizer.
It’s been a while since I had potato pancakes (latka), last time was at this jewish deli called Manny’s in the city, where you can buy a corned beef sandwich with a lb of meat for like $15. Enough for 2 sandwiches, really. And yeah, sour cream is a great addition to potatoes or Mexican food, but Greek yogurt is a much healthier alternative and tastes pretty similar.

Rolling up thanksgiving leftovers in balls and then baking them (or deep frying them) sounds killer. Maybe I’ll have to try that if I make another holiday meal for Christmas.

That chiefs-chargers game was pretty thrilling, both teams were going for it on 4[SUP]th[/SUP] down a lot, it was low scoring until the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] qtr where they traded leads until KC had a late TD and 2pt conversion to send it to OT. I was hoping for some more back n forth in OT but Kelce weaved through the chargers D for a game winning TD a minute in. Mahomes had like 150 yds after 3 qtrs but finished with 400yds and 3 td’s. Herbert also balled out, I think his arm is just as strong as mahomes and he seems more consistently accurate.

Yeah if it dips below freezing in socal, that’s real cold. Does living near the ocean help regulate the temps? Supposedly living near the lake helps keep it cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, to a degree (how strong the winds are and lake effect snows also matter a lot) Doesn’t it tend to get really cold in the desert at night just because the ground quickly loses all the heat it soaked up during the day (the sunlight)?

Here’s some more food pics, from a restaurant you may have heard of called McDonald’s. Supposedly they’re real popular around the whole world. Had a couple of app deals, buy one Big Mac/QP w cheese get one free, Buy one double cheeseburger get one free. The dog ate the double cheeseburgers and was very happy for it, the woman and I split the big mac and QPer. Only the best eats in my household!

20211215_205053 (2).jpg

This is a burger known as a "Big Mac". They say it has 2 all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.

20211215_205100 (2).jpg

This is one called a Quarter Pounder with cheese. In France they call it a Royale with cheese.

20211215_205111 (2).jpg

Double cheeseburger. Dog ate 2 of them, even after eating dinner earlier.

Beastie boys are always good, they’re pretty much been retired for a while now? Didn’t one of them die too? That’s another sign youre getting old, when your favorite entertainers from back in the day start passing away.

The big mac could use bigger patties, you can always order it with extra patties but it’s like $1 for each one which is a crime since they’re like 1.6oz (1/10lb) patties. But there’s just something about that special sauce, people say it’s basically thousand island and it’s similar but definitely different, it’s tangier (probably more vinegar) and doesn’t have minced up peppers (green/red) in there. A lot of popular burger franchises have their own version, I&O’s spread, Shake Shack sauce, etc. Do you like I&O’s spread or the Big Mac special sauce better?

Iphones are cool, lately ive been on an android kick myself, theyre more customizable and they have some hacked apk’s so you can install some hacked apps, like I have the vanced youtube app so I don’t see any of those annoying ads.

I hadn’t heard about the USFL starting up again, that might be interesting to take a look at in April next year. They want to be a feeder league to the nfl so you might see some old nfl names or future nfl players in there.

It’s good your bud is bringing some stash to TX but make sure he doesn’t try to fly back home with any, I think this nba player named alex caruso got arrested in a TX airport last year for trying to bring cannabis through TX airport security (disembarking they don’t really check you, it’s boarding that they screen you).
Id even say driving w/ cannabis through TX is a bit sketch, keep it under an oz and/or keep it to edibles (which if wrapped thoroughly wont smell too much and can be enjoyed on the down low). I’m reminded of that ex NFL lineman who got caught in TX with 300lbs of weed in his trunk, lol I know you’d never bring that much but yknow some of those small town TX cops or highway cops probably are targeting vehicles with California plates, going on fishing expeditions trying to make the bust of the century.

It’s actually been pretty darn warm here for late Dec, even got into the 60’s on Wednesday. Im sure we’ll get plenty of cold and snow in Jan and Feb though.

Don’t know why the bears are on prime time tv again, but I guess the bears packers game last Sunday night had the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] highest ratings for SNF this season, and they did keep it entertaining for a half. Vikings aren’t as good as GB but I still expect them to win handily. If Fields can make an impressive throw or two I’ll be happy, hopefully he doesn’t throw another pick 6. I don’t need another bears QB throwing back breaking picks again.

"I am the Kit Fox
I live in uncertainty
If there is anything difficult
If there is anything dangerous to do
That is mine"

-- Song of the Kit Fox Society, a warrior lodge of the Lakota Sioux.

hey hey brother! hope you had a great weeknd of football! i missed most of the action but i will be treated to two games! today and tomorrow

i did check out some scores and saw that az has lost 2 in a row and there were a couple other upsets around the league
/plus lots of covid bs going on
the friend from the pnw is my bils brother and hejust brings stuff out and leaves it behind so no worries about getting back on a plane
i dont carry when i travel by air but i am not too worried about driving it out
yeah one of the b'boys died of throat cancer a few years back
they had a great run for several decades and i still bump their music
the mac sauce is pretty much thousand island sauce, but im sure mcdonalds has their own version, just like in and out calls theirs spread or something like that
/you can ask for extra packets when you go and then put it on your fries to make them almost like the animal fries they serve there for no extra cost
man, what an adventure we had in the desert! we even made a new friend

it was actually kind of rommy at first and you could kind of duck walk around, plus once you got deeper into the mountain it was super warm
eventually it started to get super tight and i told the mrs i would not go any farther
/pops fat ass does not like heights or tight spaces
we also drove deeper into the wash until big boulders made the path too narrow to fit the trck and i had to execute a 5pt turn to get us out
on the way back i was able to score a great deal on teh statue and im all set for my trip out to tx plus we found a pretty good mexican joint to eat at
cant wait to catch some of tonights games and then i can get an extra helping of football tomorrow! i cant wait for the fun to begin
have a great week my man, do you work all five days?

Yeah, this past weekend of football was sorts of effed up because of all the positive covid tests (omicron) happening last week. Also yesterday I think there were another 50 positives among players. I think the league is adjusting their covid policy, that vaccinated players will only be tested if they show symptoms or something. I know the browns players were complaining about the daily testing for vaccinated players they were doing last week, which resulted in a lot of positive tests for their team.

I don’t think the AZ/Det game was affected much by covid, but like u said it was a shocking result all the same. I think it’s the first time in league history the #1 team in the league lost by double digits to the worst team in the league after week 10. Goof was wheeling and dealing and kyler couldn’t get anything going. Just an odd result all around. And Tompa got shut out by the saints 9-0, first shutout for him in 15 yrs, maybe not totally surprising since I think the saints have his number (4-0 against Tampa since brady arrived).

Yesterday’s games kind of sucked, especially the bears game. Raiders-browns at least came down to a game winning FG, the bears’ pathetic attempts at scoring pts are just cringe-worthy. Still, Fields’ shows some flashes that he could be something next year, but his turnovers need to come down a lot.
We got WFT vs Philly and Rams vs seahawks, both at 6pm/4pm CST/PST tonite, both on Fox. I guess Ill have the WFT game and you’ll have the rams game. It’s nice to have Tues football, and then another Thurs game (SF vs Tenn) in 2 days.

I have this week off but might stay busy with clearing stuff out of the garage and basement, start the spring cleaning early this year haha.

i heard about the nfls new covid testing protocol and am not suprised at the leagues responce to the new coke
some places are going way overboard with the mandates and its going to be a tough year ahead
/supposedly the new omicron var. is the weakest but most spreadable; kind of like fake butter
but lets talk football
last nights rams game was a breath of fresh air and i liked what i saw on both sides of the ball
the d was strong and $tafford was filling up coopas'kupp
if they can build on this mo' going into the post season it might be fun to be a rams fan
we will se if the az can hold on to their lead in the west, they seem to be slumping at the wrong time and other teams are coming up biggly
the bears looked ok on d but a few big turn overs seemed to cost them
thats great that you get the whole week off, i hope you make the most of your free time and get some things done, but also do something fun
go out and get some deep dish pizza and enjoy life brother!

Haha, weakest but very spreadable, like weak butter… so I guess it’s like margarine? Although margarine is pretty good in certain situations, you ever have that ‘elotes’ Mexican corn snack/appetizer? I think they use a liquid margarine that comes out of a squeeze bottle for that, along with mayo and cojita cheese and chili pepper. Sounds disgusting but it’s actually very palatable.
I heard it’s because omicron doesn’t tend to infect the lungs as much as the nasal passages, so it wont cause severe illness as often (requiring ventilator, etc) but it is more apt to be spread (breathing, sneezing etc). May not be the worst thing if people can get mildly sick and then develop strong covid antibodies. Im not sure though, I guess they’re still determining the science on that.

Yeah, Stafford has looked strong the past 2 games after a month of looking a bit off. Von miller got a sack and aaron Donald is stepping up. Theyre tied with AZ at 10-3 in the NFC west, they’re 1-1 head to head but AZ is 1[SUP]st[/SUP] place in the division because they’re 4-1 in the division and LA is 3-2. Got 3 games left so should be interesting, AZ have colts cowboys and seahawks left, LA has Vikings ravens 49ers. So both teams have some pretty tough games left, it could down to a tiebreaker again.

This season has been all sorts of disappointing for the bears, 4-10 and now the lions could maybe end up ahead of them in the division (2-11-1). Geez that would be such a low point, ending up 4[SUP]th[/SUP] in the nfc north behind a team that started 0-8 and then 0-10-1. But we’ll get a new coach, maybe a new GM next year so hope springs eternal, haha. I still believe in fields, he’s got a nice accurate arm especially on deep throws and of course his scrambling is elite but his turnovers are worrisome (both ints and fumbles) and he tends to hold onto the ball too long, part of that is waiting for a big play downfield but also his windup is slow.

Since my food posts seem so popular I’ll post some more. We picked up some food from this Mexican lady who cooks it in her garage on the weekends, stuff wasn’t as cheap as you’d think they would be but it was pretty darn good. I guess this is her take on gorditas, a sort of fried corn shell like a pita and had carnitas and potatoes and veggies and cheese in it. Soup had pork and hominy and other stuff in it, with limes and onion and cilantro and sliced beets to add to it, also had tostadas you could crush up in there as well. Everything was tasty, not sure if it’s any better than what you’d get served up at a good Mexican place though.

oh man! that looks grinding
i dont think they sell those around here, at least not at the places i go, did she have a name for them?
it looks like they are stuffed with all kinds of good stuff and i would totally smash a bunch
we have a friend of the mrs who makes tamalles and like you said, they arent that cheap, just a little less than you could buy them for at a shop
but they have good fresh ingredients and she will crazy ones like pina 9i dont like the pina ones)
elotes are awesome and ive had them both on the cob and where they shave the griled corn off the cob and them top them like you said
/whats with mexican food and mayo?
there is still planty of football to be played and we will see who comes out on top, i think the last game of the season v49ers might be a great one to watch
im hoping there arent any more covid related issues with the schedule but i do enjoy my three day weekedns of games
i heard that some of the college bowl games are having trouble finding teams to play because of covid issues
all we can do is hope for the best but how would it look if all of a sudden tom brady is out for the post season?
/haha the meague is so cheap that they wont risk losing even a dime to covid and will make it happen one way of the other
hpoe you are enjoying your time off and kicking all kinds of ass brother!

I forgot to comment on your kit fox pics, Pop: looks like you almost had another pet there haha. Dont think it would have got along too well with your chickens though. I guess it was hungry and smelled some of your food? You ever feed the animals while camping? I guess it's a bad idea in general, dont want wild critters associating humans with food...

I think she called them gordo’s or something, or maybe that’s what the guy who told us about this place called them. I think they’re basically a version of a gordita, but her version she fries the shell in oil (not deep fried though, more like pan fried w/ a good amount of oil) so it’s a little more crispy than other gorditas ive had, plus other gorditas ive had kept it pretty basic, just filled it with cheese and/or beans or chicharron. She basically made hers like a torta or taco, meat lettuce tomato onion potatoes cheese beans, not too much of any one ingredient but it was nice, and the red and green sauces were on point although spicy, even the green one. That’s when u know it’s authentic and not catering to gringo taste buds when even the green sauce is spicy.

Ive seen pineapple tamales on food shows and yeah, seems weird to eat something sweet that is normally savory.

Yeah, I think Texas A&M withdrew from their bowl game cause of covid positives and players transferring out or opting out to prepare for the draft. They only have 38 players available, half of them O and D linemen. I think Rutgers is taking their place, even though theyre 5-7 and technically u need 6 wins to be bowl eligible. And then Hawaii withdrew from their bowl game because of the 'vid, i guess they couldnt reschedule another team on short notice plus it's expensive to fly there. Their opponent at least got to enjoy some time in Hawaii even though they dont get to play.

U make a good point, what if some star players are out for the playoffs? I think tyreek hill and travis kelce are on the covid list for KC, might miss the steelers game. Im thinking once the playoffs start the playoff teams will go into covid protocol, with masking and distancing inside the facilities.

We’re supposed to go to that cheap lady’s place for Christmas dinner but I don’t want to go, im thinking of getting some Chinese takeout for Christmas instead haha. Maybe snag a bottle of booze if I can sneak one in, although maybe I shouldn’t, I have been enjoying my sobriety lately, even though it sucks.

Here’s some pics of the Mexican food I made, brown rice, pinto beans in the instapot cooked with pork fat, and carnitas in the instapot too. Not bad not bad, very filling too, eat a medium sized bowl of it and you wouldn’t be hungry for a long time. Served it with some sauteed onions tomatoes and bell peppers w/ fajita seasoning, sour cream, leftover hot sauce from the gordo lady.

yeah i dont think teh fox and the chickens would make great friends
at one point i was kind of like wtf, why are you coming so close to the camp site
/its not normal for a wild animal to come so close to people especially when it knows you are looking at it
we ate before we left so we werent cooking that night, but we always police up our food left overs/ trash and stash it inside of teh truck at night
you are totolly right about not wanting to encourage the wild animals
part of the reason i tracked her was she shit in our campsite at one point that night while we were sleeping
the mrs woke up the next morning and pointed out some scat close to where we had placed a couple buddy burners ( basically candle way and paper towel roles)
they smell really good and i think it was that scent that made the fox mark its turf
the mrs wasnt too happy having fox poos so close to camp
im goign to have to look for those gordos while im on my trip or at least ask about them next time we go to the mexican joint
tortas are awesome and i like the cubanos and media noches sandwiches too
can you believe last nights game?! the titans were dead the whole first half but downtown aj brown took the ball home
i wonder if the tenneD can carry the team in the playoffs or will the offense 9led by r.tannahill) get hot?
cant wait for the games to start this sunday and i get an early game
thats great that you are enjoying your sobriety man
the mrs seems to be way ebtter off with out and i wonder when i get on board
but she also smokes
chineese food sounds awesome and im smoking a ham right now for dinner
the carnitas looks on point man! do you add oranges to it? like you said, good pork is always a treat and those toppings sound awesome
how did you season that rice, that stuff liooks grinding on its own and i could see filling up on a big bowl of ric and beans and being full
we had some nice rains and i hope there is another good downpour before it passes
i will see what bowl games i can catch and im going to make the most of this weeeknd!
merry christmas brother!
