Didn’t know Budweiser and seapak made a collab on beer battered scrimps, Hawk, that sounds delish. Interestingly enough, theyre owned by Rich’s, a company based out of Buffalo. I used to get something that looked like that, big breaded shrimp but they were coconut shrimp, so had big flakes of coconut in the batter, were lightly sweet, and came with a sweet chili type dipping sauce. They were good but I think I’d prefer those plain ones better.

Yeah pops I actually grew a bunch of shrooms years and years ago, they didn’t agree with my stomach, I think they made it feel all tight and stuff, just a weird feeling that didn’t agree with the high I got from them. Some people really like shrooms tho.

Yeah, philly’s been dominant all season, not sure why people aren’t picking them to win the SB, but niners are legit even with the 3rd string rookie QB, bengals are on a hot streak, and KC has mahomes and a good run game and decent defense. Anyone can lose to anyone else though if theyre off their game, look at the bills who were preseason championship favorites and couldnt get anything going against cincy.

For sure Pops, every athlete says when you sprain something during a game, the adrenaline lets you play on it but the days after are the worst. Didn’t you sprain your foot a few months ago? And that kept you out of action for weeks? i think you started biking more then for that low impact exercise.
Im sure mahomes will get a double dose of Toradol before the game and wont be able to feel a thing, but he definitely wont scramble as much and even play action faking a handoff might be rough. He’s got enough arm talent to make up for not being able to step into throws as much so we’ll see. Bengals have beat them last 2x they played, including last year’s AFC championship, so maybe cincy just has their number.

Six, I can get down with the drinking at the tailgates (including taking shots out of the fingerholes on a bowling ball) but grilling meats on various metal objects (filing cabinet, mailbox etc) on top of an old ass car is pretty gnarly even for me. I mean, does it come with a side of tetanus booster? Haha im sure it’s safe tho, ya’ll be crazy but ur not stupid. Well, not all the way stupid.

Well of course I prefer fresh doors but those are good in the fryer.i wouldn't put fresh in an air fryer.that would definitely overcook them.never seen these crab poppers.

I love a good crab cake, but seldom eat one. Were they expensive DB?
It snowed around Chicago too but only about an inch or so accumulated, you get some heavy snow out there? I know Six has probably already had a couple blizzards already, including one before thanksgiving. The drinking helps keep you warm.

You’ve mentioned a few times that the rams drafted cam akers right before Jalen hurts went to the eagles, yeah that’s not great but hurts was drafted #53 overall so pretty much every team in the league passed on him, some more than once. But yeah, this rams season would have been a lot better with hurts taking over after Stafford was injured than shuffling between 3 QBs including baker Mayfield.

Dak had 300yds and 5 tds (4 pass, 1 rush) vs a pretty good D in the Bucs but only had 200yds, 1 td and 2 ints vs SF. I know dallas fans are questioning whether he’s the one to lead them to championship. Still, he had 37 tds last year so unless brady is walking through that door they have to roll with him. Plus they cant get rid of him till 2024, and that’s with a 40M cap hit if they do. But he seems way too inconsistent to depend on for a deep playoff run.

I put $5 on the bengals +1 vs the chiefs, I feel like with burrow playing as well as he ever has (remember week 1 when he looked terrible vs the steelers?) and mahomes hurt that bengals will win going away.

Eagles are favored by 2.5 vs SF at home, not sure about this one. You would think purdy’s “rookie-ness” would catch up to him and he’ll have some turnovers but give him credit, he’s only had 3 int’s in his 8 starts and none in the playoffs so far. Cowboys D led the league in turnovers and couldn’t get one off of him. Im leaning towards SF with the points, they have so many weapons and the D can make hurts miserable. Yeah crab cakes guys! They were like $3 a piece. "True Blue Maryland Crab Cakes"...from behind the seafood glass. Lobster meat is $52/lb. Maybe the prices on these animals lately and eggs will stay high and lead to better living conditions for the animals.
The crab cakes were too crabby...I tossed half of one. I need real calamari or clams. Could get mom to bring me to Kelly's Roast Beef for Valentine's Day.

Hmm, $3 for a crab cake, and it was too ‘crabby’? Maybe they were using some filler or imitation crab meat to make the real crab meat go further. If I see some in a store I might have to check them out myself, for $3 each id be willing to take the plunge.
Yeah DB, raising meat using industrial/mass production methods leads to some pretty inhumane practices, but even if theyre raised on small farms ur still chopping their heads off or slitting their throat or blowing their brains out when you want some meat. I think if people actually had to raise and kill their meat instead of buying it all nice and packaged up at a store no one would eat as much meat as they do now.

Yeah im not sure how hurts would work on the rams, would he take over when they trade Goff? But they got Stafford in the goff trade and obviously u have to make him #1. But honestly, he’d be a super backup and could have kept this team afloat while Stafford was injured, even though you’d have to trade him since u couldn’t keep him in free agency. With all the first rd picks the rams have traded away, it’d be nice to replenish the war chest by getting a couple one’s for hurts after the season.

i dont know what it is on the scoville scale but id say its similar to a jalepeno but i think they taste better.man i was so hungry i tore through those nachos.yeah it was the place down the street los primos.theres a ton of mexican places here.more than any other restaurant i think.its a shame my mom only likes bland food but loves taco bell.fuck that place$10 for a mexican pizza and 2 tacos and im still hungry when i smoke.i dont eat alot but when i drink and smoke im going to town.the lime they gave me killed it.sorry pops but im starting to like cilantro and lime.my only complaint is no gaucomole.that would of sealed the deal.

Ok, seems like ur right about the heat scale Hawk, jalapenos are up to 10K Scoville units, serranos up to 25K and habanero are up to 325K, so serrano peppers are way closer to jalapenos in heat then they are to habaneros.
I think avocado prices are pretty cheap nowadays, 6-9months ago they were pretty high (>$1 each, now they’re less than $1 each) so ive been making my own guac at home. Got some cilantro, some lime, some minced onions and tomatoes, little S&P and garlic powder, stuff is pretty, pretty good. And ur right, cilantro and lime on any sort of Mexican food is perfect, that’s what chipotle does with most of their food I feel like.

You could try chicken brined and unbrined and see if the result is worth the effort, it’ll definitely be juicier when properly brined but it’s not like unbrined chicken isnt going to be juicy as well, especially when fresh out of the rotisserie. Maybe it makes more of a difference with leftover chicken that you have to reheat, the unbrined chicken might be noticeably drier.

Im sure pinto ron makes sure there’s no rust or paint on any of these cooking implements but yeah, looks gnarly at first. Reminds me of cooking grilled cheese in jail, saw on tv these dudes would scrape the paint off their bed frame in jail and then light a fire (with paper or whatever) and had cheese and bread from the commissary and make a grilled cheese right in their cell. I think pinto ron is just doing it for the lulz.

Haha Pops how long has it been since u bought eggs at a store? Seems like you’d be good at homesteading, get a nice little vegetable garden (with some footage reserved for cannabis trees), keep some chickens, if you had a good bit of land you could even keep some bigger animals (cows for milk and meat, pigs, etc). Of course it’d be a pain feeding and caring for everything but I know a guy who dreams of being a homesteader, he thinks the world is going to hell in a handbasket and wants to be self sufficient with regards to necessities.

The rolled tacos are exactly like taquitos, Hawk. Reminds me that I wanted to get some at the store, they make a nice snack in the air fryer. Taco bell sometimes sells a chicken rolled taco as a limited time item, they alright, one time I got two and wrapped each in a cheesy bean rice burrito and I was super stuffed, not bad for like $5 of food (probably be like $6-7 now lol).
I think baja sauce is made out of mayo/sour cream along with seasonings, cilantro?, parmesan cheese? Just a nice creamy, savory sauce to add some extra flavor to a fish taco, which is pretty light in flavor (tortilla and fish) unless the fish is well seasoned.

That damar Hamlin conspiracy theory is new to me but seems like it comes from the fact that he was wearing a hoodie and mask to the bills-bengals game, and he was in a private suite so he didn’t need to be bundled up like that necessarily. I saw that myself during the game, he was making a heart shape with his hands and you could barely see him through the snow, and I was wondering why he had his hood up when he’s inside lol. Like they don’t turn the heat on inside a 15K per game suite?
And also when his heart attack happened on the field, some people were saying on social media it might be due to him being vaccinated. There are instances of heart issues in young men attributed to the vaccine but supposedly that’s pretty rare.

Speaking of crab cakes, here’s some homemade ones I made yesterday, had some leftover crab (local store had a sale on snow crab, the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze the legs weren’t nearly meaty enough to justify the work in shelling them but at least they were cheap, like $10lb).
They weren’t bad I guess for a first attempt but I think I prefer real crab meat better but the big thick legs (king crab?) are hella expensive now. Like DB said, lobster is $50lb (better be all meat no shell at that price) and Pop said he’s seen $40+lb king crab legs.

if you want to get all fancy, try a flauta; its the same thing but made with flour tortillas
much lighter flavor with a different crunch
a quick and easy baja sauce would be the chiplote seasoning and then the creme fresh (mayo works well here too)
a real easy hack s to just take cholula hot sauce and add that to the mayo, you want a pinkish orange sauce with a creamy taste and a little heat

I just made a quick tartar sauce out of mayo, sour cream and minced pickles with some S&P and garlic powder. Was alright. Your cholula and mayo recipe for a quick baja sauce sounds about right and really good for something whipped up in seconds, probably would have preferred that to tartar sauce.
I guess there’s different sizes of snow crab, this was the large ones for 10.lb on sale but still sucked to try to get meat out of em.

TX is a really large state, almost as big as Alaska I think and way more of it is habitable. I can see getting a big plot of land way out there, maybe in west TX, or next to BLM land like u said. I’d still need to be on the grid though, preferably, although with solar and generators maybe even that wouldn’t be absolutely necessary? Well for water, septic tank for drains, big propane tanks and wood for heat, satellite for internet and maybe TV, you could homestead pretty easily if you don’t mind living far away from shops and restaurants.
Id like to grow some cannabis along with a vegetable garden but TX looks dimly on that, if you never get caught no biggie but if you do youre looking at felonies in front of a pretty strict justice system in rural areas, im thinking.

Honey is the original sugar, back before there was processed sugar. If you were a peasant in medieval times the only thing you ate that was really sweet was probably honey, only rich folks/lords had access to cane sugar. And it was probably the first alcoholic beverage, honey wine and meads are thousands of years old, back before people learned to turn grains into booze. And yeah, it supposedly has beneficial side effects, it’s also anti bacterial so people even use it on wounds I think.

Yeah Hawk, a can of good crabmeat would be around $20 for a lb of it, and you’d need the good stuff to make a quality crabcake.

Im not too fond of bees myself Pop even though ive only been stung once in my life, on the finger. But like hawk said, beekeepers can have bees swarm all over their skin, and lots do it without protection, like this girl:
