maybe this pizza joint would be a better value than taco bell! plus the quality would be better too
taco bell was notorious for being cheap, like if you have $5 you can get food and if you spend $10 you can pretty much run with whatever you want off the menu and then some
i dont go that much but when i do i will get those postatoe tacos (value menu so they are like a buck) and one of their cheesy bean and rice burritos, plus usually that box thats only like $5 too

So all I got was a Mexican pizza,crunch wrap Supreme and a taco Supreme for my mom.was over 13 bucks and u was still hungry.im done with tb.rheres some Mexican places I wanna try out here but my mom only likes taco bell.one taco and she's stuffed.

For the gravy I'd do it about the same way except I'd use peeled whole tomatoes from a can,preferably saz marzano tomatoes,no tomato sauce.probaly less paste.it don't matter much because sometimes I'll put in meat,zucchini,yellow squash,mushrooms.whatever I feel like.

Made these ribs last night and didn't have BBQ sauce so I used this fancy maple syrup.i don't know where it came from but it's awesome.i can taste hints of the whiskey.it came out good.its not burnt that's bark.it tasted like honey glazed ham.dont know why the pics suck

Yeah, the TNF hasnt been good this year, it may be a seasonal thing. I think MNF last year had a bunch of bad games too.

Amoeba pizza, i like that. More of an oval instead of round? If the dough isnt stretchy enough to spin it in the air like they do at pizza places i usually roll it out and maybe let it stretch with gravity by picking it up and letting it hang down vertically.

I think you can get creative and use ranch, bbq, alfredo sauce etc instead of pizza sauce. I know Domino's lets you have those options to sub in for pizza sauce, and can make things like bbq chicken pizza, chicken bacon ranch pizza, etc.

I hear kyler murray has a hammie strain and might not play either, his backup is colt mccoy who actually won some games last year when kyler hurt his ankle. But ur right, who would have thought the seahawks, projected to be one of the worst teams in the league, would be 1st in the nfc-west over the niners rams and cards, all playoff teams last year? Weird wild season. But the rams won a ring last year so maybe take a mulligan on this season and hope 2023 is better.

That sounds like a proper red gravy (as Italians would call it) youre making Hawk, with the 3 types of tomatoes (sauce, crushed, paste) plus seasoning and simmering for an hour. How often do you stir it? Do you stir it while wearing a wifebeater and smoking a cigarette like a real Italian guy? I guess you can make a good amount and freeze some and refrigerate some and use as needed, like u said add veggies and meat to the base sauce.

Im not sure, but if you keep getting screwed at that t-bell you can go back and demand a refund or remake your order so long as it's not too long after or you didnt eat most of it lol. It does suck that theyre so bad at their job, makes me wonder how any restaurant can stay in business if they serve crappy food all the time. Is there a taco john around davenport? That might be an option. Also Del Taco i hear is a decent competitor to T-bell but i dont think they have locations around IL-IA. They have a bunch in CA, Pops you ever been to Del Taco?

The cravings box is $5 but can only be ordered on the app now, can't order it at the store anymore. Also they still have the potato taco and cheesy bean rice burrito on the value menu but they're 1.30 now, not $1 anymore. Still, for like $8 that's a bunch of food plus a drink (box comes with a drink that you can upsize for 20c) but Hawk is right, the more expensive items are pretty pricey and if you order a la carte you can easily spend 10-15 bucks on not that much food. For the same price probably better to go to chipotle or a real mexican taqueria but hawk's mom is addicated to that sweet sweet taco bell MSG so what can ya do? Shrugs.

Those ribs look fire, like as good as anything from a bbq restaurant. Pull off the bone tender with a nice crust/char. And the syrup was aged in old bourbon barrels, they do that with beer sometimes, let it ferment in barrels that were used to age bourbon cause you can still get that taste out of the wood.

Here's a deep dish pizza i got from a local italian restaurant recently, had a $7 off deal on the Slice app. It was pretty good, crust was chewier than i expected but all the ingredients were on point.

That's awesome you had a del taco next to school pops.when I went to Downers Grove south you can get pizza hut style pizza,tacos,salads anything you want right in the cafeteria.its one of the best schools in the state.wish I could go back.it was awesome.

The maple was good.i screwd up toward the end though cause I was hungry.i would take pieces from the rack and eat them while basting them as an excuse to eat them while they were cooking.i basted too many layers at the end and became a little over done but would definitely do again.

Nothing too fancy tonight.got some pizza and sushi from target.its actually not bad for the price.they make it fresh everyday but you gotta get there early or all you get is California rolls like this

when i went to school i got free school lunch and i was totally happy for it; but it was nothing like that
then they brought in the pizza hut style and taco bell shit ;all that was later after i graduated
but by then i worked for teh schools,at one of the feeder schools,cleaning classrooms and hauling garbage; yeah i was the janitor
but this place, they made the food for a lot of smalle schools in the area and had a big kitchen; one of my job was to clean that big kitchen every night
i got in tight with the lunch lady who was this nice black lady with the nicests shiniest skin you had ever seen
i did a good job mopping up her kitchen and she was a nice lady to start with so so we got along
well, they had taco bell style stuff just like you mentioned and she would always save me the leftovers from the days lunch; im sure she fed her crew as well too
/one bag was trash, but the other bag was jsut burritos and all those school lunch burgers/meals type shit that the kids dident take

so this has become a weekend type thing?1 with the girls and the mrs?! when does she go home

Yeah, I wouldn’t have thought straight maple sizzurp would work well as a bbq sauce, figured you might have to mix it with some ketchup or something to get that tomato taste. Did you salt the ribs too? Then you get the sweet and savory taste which is what a lot of people like about bbq.
Memphis style bbq sauce is tomato based and sweet but also thinner and more tangy (thanks to cider vinegar) than KC style bbq sauce. AOH seems like he lives in east TN which is near Carolina, Carolina style bbq doesn’t use tomato at all, it’s made out of apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and spices including hot pepper so it’s more hot/spicy than other bbq sauces. There’s also a Carolina gold bbq sauce that’s mustard and honey based.

Tacos and fries sounds like a well rounded meal, like Hawk says it reminds me of jr high and high school cafeteria meals where they served fries with everything. Pizza and fries, tacos and fries, burger and fries. I guess fries are a cheap and filling side dish.
That’s not a bad idea, Hawk picks up his own food and then stops by t-bell for his mom’s food.

You got a lot of cafeteria leftovers long ago, Pops? Dang, did you share it with people? Even if your metabolism was high I cant see eating a big bagful of food by myself everyday without some negative side effects. But it does sound like a sweet deal if the food was decent quality. Some of those school cafeteria burgers seem like they had a good amount of soy in them, but maybe back then they were higher quality.

Drinking and smoking by yourself sounds like an ideal way to spend a day, bonus if youre watching football or can go for a walk.

DB, pats are on bye this week. Had to pick up another defense to start in my fantasy league, Pats beat up on the colts so bad last week that they fired their coach and hired their old O-lineman, Jeff Saturday, as interim Head coach. I think the colts owner, Jim Irsay, has been on the 'white powder' recently, he's making some odd decisions lately.
Got the titans going against the broncos today, chef russ played better 2 weeks ago in London (had a bye last week) but most people still think their offense is doo doo.

plus i dident have to bring lunch to work because i would eat on the house

still sweet im sure but it sounds good especially if they balance it out with some spice and a little sour
so the mrs friend went home this morning, the mrs showed me the route they took and it looked like a monster hike! (over30,000 steps), i guess she got some kind of patch for it, it might hvae been part of the pacific crest trail; but oh they were all over her friend! xoxo

we went for a little walk to the in n out and got burgers and fries then walked back

Also, dry rubs are a thing, just season it with a blend of spices (S&P, sugar or brown sugar, red pepper, even cumin and cinnamon and etc), no sauce unless you want some on the side when eating. I think dry rubs are more popular in TX than basting with sauces.

They switched to the end of the buff-minny game after the bears game was over, it was pretty wild. I know buff fans are wondering what has gotten into josh allen lately, with all the turnovers, especially in the red zone. He had a hurt elbow in this game but was still able to play but this TO issue was going on for the 2 wks prior. I think if they had held on for the win the bills would still be 1st in the AFC, with the loss and Miami win they’re now 6th.

Dang Pop, 30k steps is like 13 miles, like a half marathon. And if it’s up and down hills? Sounds like a killer workout, but what would that take, like 3-4 hrs of pretty fast walking? After one hour I’d be done haha.

I hear Indian weddings are like 2-3 day celebrations, they really like to go all out for weddings. Would have been funny if you had scored a to-go plate from them but I guess you were full of I&O at the time.

I saw some of the rams-cards game on red zone, both backup QBs had to play, I thought wolford with his mobility could spur the rams offense but again they were held to like 250 total yds. Cards weren’t much better at 300 total yards on offense but got 10pts off of rams turnovers giving them short fields. To make matters worse, Kupp injured his ankle, probably not season ending but may keep him out for a few weeks. At 3-6 and last place in the NFC-W they’re looking at a 6-7 win season, I thought at worst they would go 8-9 wins this year but the O-line issues (they’ve had 9 different starting offensive line combinations in their 9 games) just crippled their offense.

I wasn’t too happy that a packers rookie WR caught 3 td’s, that’s just what Rodgers needs to continue torturing the bears, competent WR’s.

Bad thing is the rams owe their 1st rd draft pick to the lions, from the Stafford trade, and that’s currently #8 overall (lions own 1st rd pick is #11 so far). But that’s what happens when you go all in for a ring.
They’re going to need to shore up their O-line in the offseason, through the draft and free agency. They don’t have much of either picks or cap space to spend but if they can find 1 or 2 competent blockers that will let them shuffle the line a bit and maybe block at a league average level.
Nice thing is kyren Williams, their rookie RB, got some garbage time stats in, he already looks like their best pass catching RB so those quick dump offs and screens might help slow down the pass rush.

Ur right about the hikes, how you have to turn around at half your endurance instead of being exhausted and THEN turning around. It’s like hiking in extreme heat, you have to head back when your water’s half gone, not fully gone.
A 16 mile hike with lots of elevation is hard core, the mrs and her friend must have legs like an NFL running back.

Sweet baby ray’s is so sweet that it can be kind of overwhelming, but I guess it’s good for bbq’ing because it only needs one or two coats to give it that nice sweet glaze. I like KC masterpiece too, that’s a little better as a dipping sauce since it’s not as sweet or thick.

Yeah, I think Pop would sooner be 300lbs of muscle than 300lbs of fat. Think you said you have a weight set in the garage? You ever do squats and deadlifts or just stick to the simple lifts?

Had some tavern style pizza recently, thin crispy crust, sweet tomato sauce, Italian sausage and onions. This one was a little bit more charred at the edges than i would prefer, but overall not bad for $7 (it was a leftover that someone failed to pick up so they sell those on discount first come first served).
