Well here are the boys in their low light home, don't want them to do too much just stay in veg. Good strong males all of em, very suitable for breeding, the only prob I have with them is knowing which order to use them in. Tubs nutral white, no pink or blue, well one blue. Wierd the way in the summer I get females everywhere and the winter males. Summer's on it's way, I have males to spare, lets hope for a good year. New seeds are soaking, the first batch of trixtri cut seeds are just about ready, I've been taking a few to look at em and they are only days away. Mother isn't pretty, I'll take a pic at final seed harvest. Not much to see here otherwise over the next few weeks, so until something happens,

Well, 16 2 leafed dead seedlings later, and we have a new tri baby. A few seedlings left to sprout. I also kept one of the bi foliars to smoke in a few months time, the tri will of course be bred with.

:woohoo: :canabis: Congratulations GMT!!!!! Got a good feeling about this tri, keeping my fingers crossed...

And you have good males for the summer  Who cares if the mother is pretty, mine isn't :yoinks:   And you're stocked with trixtri seed, man how could you be any better prepped for the summer? I predict fun interesting times on The Island of Dr GMT

hhehehehe, thanks MGJ, yeha fingers crossed, so long as nothing goes wrong, this should be the year. Ok, time to introduce the new baby,

she is another bruised berry,
so while things are quiet here, I thought I'd have a play with some things. I noticed Cap's thread make a recent resurection on cloning in plain water, now I have tried and failed this before, I normally shove a stick in some soil and wait, but I'm playing. Here'a my effort on day one of the clone, from the tri bruised nuts male, if it roots, it may become the father to the new tri, but I'm still not sure, and may still used another bruised berry to make tri f2's.

Now then MGJ, I reckon you are the one to ask about this, like I said I was playing, and decided to cut off a couple of branches from the bruised berry tri males, then I decided to stick them back, but onto each other, so one branch came from one plant and went onto another. They are both the same type of plant so that shouldnt be the problem, but I haven't done it before and that maybe. If it works, I want to get all 3 males onto one plant, so that I can kill the other 2. But for now its just a bit of fun, any ideas, tips, warnings etc? Here's a poor pic of what I did.

You so crazy! Way to think outside the box. That is a great idea :respect:

So is the branch is supposed to spread its original genes through the pollen? Is there precedent in the horticultural world?

Holy double postings Batman...I think the key to the water clones is weak light and time.. :chin:
I'll be watchin this fusion experiment..very interesting..maybe Nitrozime..as a growth hormone anti-stress foliar spray :lurk:

Hi UM, sometimes I try to be normal, but it just gets me into trouble. Yeah I've seen oranges and (can't remember if it was apples or lemons) on the same tree, just take a cut from one, graft it onto the other, and from that point upwards, on that branch you get what the branch originally came from. The reason I thought MGJ may have some insights is he is into bonsai trees, and bonsai growers use similar techniques for the harder to root species and graft them onto easy to root species. If I can get my males onto one plant, then I'll do the same with some females, and well, a tri has more sites to graft to.
Hi pack, mate I'm having real probs with my pc, every post I have to save to the windows clipboard, then try to post it, get logged out, re log back in, then paste the post from the clipboard and submit it quickly. But the pic wouldnt work on the first post, so I tried to edit it and got 2 posts, oh well sorted now.
On the water clone front, I also noticed something else that I hadn't before in another thread, and that's that they prefer warm water to cold ( as I always used in the past), so now I'm going to refresh the water about 3 times a day with wam water, and lets see if that helps or not. I put the clone in with the fathers at the mo, very weak light, (900 lumens) at distance. Hmmm, nitro on my plants, thanks for the tip, but you know what I'm like when it comes to powders and pills for my plants (or their equivalents), if it can't be done by manipulating their environment, then I'll leave it alone for now, but maybe in the future, when I get myself into gear and actually go to another grow shop, to get a much overdue replacement bulb, I may pick up some chems to play with for breeding purposes. Not smoking purposes. Thanks for the tip, the great thing about threads like these, is when it comes to it, I can just read back and there's that tip again, no need for me to try and remember or take notes.

If it happens with IC logging on/off..your security may not be allowing cookies..
also if Internet Explorer go to Tools/Internet op's/ then delete cookies and files..(files)this is dumping the trash..the ol heave ho
these folders get filled with stuff whenever you cruise around the internet..
your favorites don't change but it will clear any drop down items on the "address bar"
under setting you can make the allowable size of the folder to be larger if needed (make the trash bag bigger)..
cause when it gets filled, things start to happen..jpg's turn into gif's..etc..
(under Privacy)..you can adjust your cookie level too..IC needs to use cookies for log in..
Hope this helps..

Hiya GMT

You be graftin!!! I haven't tried this with our favorite herb, but I have grafted on bonsai. The technique I use is to take the branch you cut off and trim the end so it comes to a point > flat on 2 sides. Then on the main trunk or a big branch of the recipient I make a 30-45 degree cut thru the cambium layer insert the branch and bind with rafia. I can't see how you cut the two parts but it looks like you have a good binding on them to hold them together. Important to have it tight enough so the 2 parts of the graft do not move. I've also seen it done where 2 branches are simply cut at matching angles and the two parts then bound together.

We once had a cherry tree once that had 4 different types of cherries grafted to one tree - pretty nifty. It should be possible for you to graft multiple male branches to one plant.

My success rate is only 1/3, but that's because I don't do it very much. There's not much to add to improve success except start with healthy plants, and make sure the recipient plant has a branch or trunk thick enough for the technique you chose.

Man - that's what I love about your threads - you're always up to something interesting!!!

Seems like a telescoping antenna..like plugging in a sharpened branch, like a pencil into the recipient plant branch(socket)..
slightly hollowed to fit the shape of the donor..Like capping a tooth..
So the the plant can set a pathway to the donor as it attempts to heal itself..so hopefully they heal together..
If all works out successful, a nutrient pathway is formed..and the branch lives..
That's the trick...if I understand this right..

ah right, yeah I see, DOH, well that's not the method I tried, just as well tris have a few branches to play with ey. No I tried to, well, I just put one end next to another, like bricks in a wall, kindo of explains why the grafted, lol, branches are now hanging vertically downwads this morning. I'll try the new techniques, although it may take more practice than I have branches.

Thanks Pack, but here's where I find my cookies hiding on me. User.dmp. Seems to keep getting my cookies and eating them. So I deleted it and it came back. So I checked its directory path, and DR watson keeps creating. Thats quite funny as I dont have dr watson installed. So I deleted dr watson and the dump file, and they magically restore themselves. So for now I disabled all the permissions for dr watson, and yet this morning I still get logged off and the user.dmp file is back. I then downloaded error killer and an antispyware software. I have 102 errors in my registry and 72 separate pieces of spyware on my laptop. Think they could have anything to do with it? Trouble is they want money before they will delete or repair them. I'm sure it's the antispyware guys who create all these viruses. It's time to stop messing around with this laptop I guess and move to the new desktop. Trouble is I need a new external modem as the internal one doesnt seem to work. So its off to the shops on tuesday, then a day downloading updates to windows 2000 on dial up, then the graphics software etc. Its whats been putting me off switching for a while now. The desktop came with an xp disk semi loaded, and wouldnt load properly and the key wouldnt work. Which is why I gave up on and put 2000 in instead, which I prefer anyway. Then of course you lose all the system drivers, and nothing works. Which is why its such a big job.

GMT - I did the same thing the first time! The receiving branch has to be a bit woody too, if it is too soft it can't maintain the graft position.

Actually the trick to try might be to take an older mother of a very tough vigorous plant, and try putting the tri branches on it's woody branches - just like with fruit trees that get grafted onto a different fruit strain.

Man - I hear ya on windows issues - by any chance do you know anyone or any facility where you can plug into broadband for an hour or so? That would make the updates go a lot faster. I typically have to reinstall windows on my work computer once a year despite "best practices"...

Wish I lived on your side of the big pond and little stream  I'd come over and give ya a hand...

If Dr.Watson detects a crash in a program it creates user.dmp..To stop this file being created execute DRWTSN32.EXE and unselect the option "Create Crash Dump File".

The Watson version is probably the free version that comes bundled with XP..here is a link about that and how to fix it..http://www.hotcomm.com/FAQ/FAQ_drwatson.asp
I'll see If I can find you a free-ware version of spy removal software..
I used to use one, but now it's in my antivirus program..
Found it and he still doesn't charge..just takes voluntary donations..100% freeware..
works good too..Spybot Search & Destroy..get it here..
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

Most of the others allow you to download it, run it, then wanna charge you to get rid of what you found..
Hope this helps..

MGJ do you have wireless capabilities..you'd be surprised how many free wireless connections there are..
a lot of people open up a Wi-Fi connection for free use..and the not suppose to be free (war-doggin) connections..
(people that don't secure their network)
Starbucks usually has a wireless conection..Hotel business center's usually have a land connection..Maybe a cyber cafe..library maybe..
If you use Google Earth (free world 3D mapping system)at Google choose more.. by the enter box then Earth..
turn on the google community layers..a lot of people will show you where the free Wireless connections are..
I'm sure there are lists of free Wi-Fi..elsewhere on the net..
Earth is cool..but I don't know how well it will work without broadband..broadband makes the web enjoyable..I'll never go back..

Hiya Packn

First off, good windows info! Yeah, I'm all set for broadband around here - seems like even the homeless have broadband or wireless :yoinks: I've got twisted pair in the walls but run wireless instead out of convenience.

Yup, broadband makes everything a lot easier, because everything is so much bigger these days - size of graphics traffic from a web page, size of mandatory program updates for windows, mac os, etc...

GMT - if you can unload most of that spyware you might find your notebook useable for a while longer.... I second the vote for Spybot...

Ok , here's what happened. downloaded that spybot one, and it blocked 747 bad processes on internet explorer, what ever that means, but it didnt even detect the 62 pieces of spyware that xoftspy.se claims to be detecting but wants cash to remove for me. I did however manage to turn off the dump file in dr watson, and I never would have found that by myself. Now its just a case of waiting to see if I get logged out or not. I also found an isp that will give me 1mbps surfing for 2 quid less than i pay for 56k (which transfers files at 3.67kb ps). Trouble is they want a 12 month contract from me, and i hate contracts. Also it says always on connection, and i hate the sound of that. The way i see it, if it takes me ages to up and download, it also takes ages for someone to hack me, am i being niave? Also I sign off when I'm done, and it doesnt sound like broadband does. I also dislike the idea of only one ip address. I need to sleep on, as they are offering free modem and installation, which would save me some pissing about and the cost of the first 2 months (assuming a new modem would cost around 30 pounds). I dont like the idea of an engineer coming into the grow/surf room though. Does BB need to be connected in the room in which it will be used, or can it be connected and then disconnected and then moved and reconnected easily?

My new overlapping branches have wilted again, I'm starting to run out of branches to play with.

GMT, you can always unplug or turn off the modem used for the broadband connection - it's always on only if you want it to be.

That's a very good rate, that's why they want a contract. The other side of the contract though is if they don't deliver on the performance end you could cancel without penalty if the problems are documented.

You can have the connection come in wherever you like and either run another wire to anywhere else or use a wireless router and be connected anywhere in your home.

GMT - you won't be constrained to paying more for less, or at least not for very long. Broadband is storming and I am convinced high speed internet will be the basis for much non-computer communication in the near future - internet access will be a perk but not the primary use or benefit. Soon instead of hooking a modem up to your phone line you'll be able to plug a network cable into your phone.

You actively draft the direction of your life - too many throw that away - I have much :respect:

wow, spybot works much better once you restart you r pc. I jsut deleted a whole host of nasties. laptop is running so much quicke and smoother, and i'm not getting disconnected or even logged out anymore. Thanks for finding that one for me pack. You've jsut given me a new laptop.

Lets hope so MGJ, if it wasnt for the contract thing, i'd switch tomorrow.

Sweet..glad you're up and good...I've helped a lot of people with their PC's..and have found that it is real common..the computer is full of garbage..and too many background programs running(like in the systray, icons by the clock on the taskbar)..gamer's want the PC steamlined so it's completely available to the game..so most of my bells & whistles are turned off..
This one woman had 19 non-system programs running in her system tray..Just stopping those alone..she was amazed how big a difference..
XP is a little more complicated to steamline than w98 was..but to free up some memory and take the load off the processor..it's a good practice to limit the programs that start-up, during start-up..a lot of them you can go to their properties and just uncheck a box that say "Automatically run at start-up" or "Create icon in systray"..
There are other ways to stop unnessessary programs from running too..If the computer is powerful and that person is more into the internet..then fine..run um, you might use them along the way (ie Real Audio, Quicktime, etc.)..most of those programs will open by association anyway when you try to use a file..(acrobat opens for pdf, music program for mp3, etc.) whatever the program that file type is assigned to..
Most broadband..cable & DSL..the modem serial is registered with the ISP after that..you're connected..You draw an IP from the pool..just like dial-up..now it will hold that IP address until you do something to make it get another one...and that's easy
If DSL then nothing inside needs to be done..phone jack and modem..they might give you little filters to put between the phones and wall jack..they just plug in..
I'm @5mps..last download 20MB (800kb/s about 25 secs)..can watch clean Hi-Def like movies..listen to tons of music..of course games..surf real quick..
The cell phone companies are getting into high-speed wireless..anywhere you would get a digital cell phone signal with that company you could access the internet at broadband speed..
Now back to the trifo's..
