fwiw I pressed some bubble hash in my pressing screen and the finished product was almost like rubber or something like that goo that they use to stick credit cards to paper...it was some straight up flubber, I wasn't willing to dab it...there was no way that there wasn't some foreign substance that leached out of the pressing screen into the oil.

What did it smell.like? Dude you didn't sample it at all? Bad scientist, what would Albert Hoffman say of this?

Idk name brands but I never have been impressed with jbweld. Just go cruse the epoxy isle, all sort of high tinsel strength and high heat adhesives to be found! The tiny little local hardware store has many that have way higher numbers than any jbweld.

Where does one find steel plates? I have thinner ones that we double and triple up, for strength but I need something more appropriate.

Ebay, Ebay, Ebay. LOL

I found all sizes and shapes of aluminum and stainless steel. The stainless is not cheap but it is definitely available.

hahaha no sampling, I considered it for about 5 seconds, but as i continued playing around with it, it was pretty clear that there was some rubber or something in it...it was the pressing screen that came with a set of "sprung" bags I bought a few years ago, so not sure if it had the coating that you speak of although that is entirely possible.

unbleached coffee filters ftw.

are you pressing flowers in filters too?

i've jsut been squooshing them straight on the partchment and going back to manually remove contaminants, but that is a bit of a PITA.

^^^ thats how I squish flowers, straight bud on paper...I get less debris from moist, well trimmed, and pre pressed into a little ball.

the coffee filters with a double fold on the open edges has worked out well for bubble hash and trim bin kief, try to make the packets only large enough to hold the starting material, any excess paper will absorb small amounts of oil.

Sweet Twitch. I have seen that press a lot lately but you are the first I know to pull the trigger. Obviously keep us updated on how it works.

nicely prepared material should give pretty much 0 debris. i find if herb is still a bit green/damp, a lot more debris is possible. once a sample is dried out enough, it becomes a lot tougher it seems, i usually get 0 debris with properly dried(yet still damp ) material.

Niceeee, I can't believe 3600$ is worth it unless for commercial but I saw the yields/speed they were extracting bud with in teabags...I wonder how much bud they put in each bag

it is going to be for commercial use, you don't have to jump through all the loop holes for hydro carbon extracts

Ppppssssssssssssstttttt- that's my brain on Icmag!

The problem with bigger disk is uneven heating no. Im assuming because the heating element is in the middle its harder to reach the outer perimeter or slower I should say. Would multiple elements on the one side help this problem? I was almost thinking if they make those silicone heat matts in smaller sizes though I'd need to take one apart to see how it's put together. if I couldn't rip the element out then I'm sure it's not gonna work.

Wasn't there issues with using aluminum? I thought that's why people stopped smoking out of aluminum pipes? Something with the connection of alheimers ? That was a while ago I heard that not sure of its validity in this situation.

Do both sides need to be heated? Has anyone tried just heating from one side? I know someone was trying to get everything to go into a container of some sort which looked one sided but I could be wrong. Any further progress on that? Idea being if you could have just a bottom SS plate cold so you could just use that to collect and scrape off that.

And Sun when are you gonna have your patents inline would love to see what your working on!

Ok one more question and then I'll leave you guys alone? Has anyone tried just heated air pressure blasted through material? I noticed the humidity version but what about just pressurized hot air?

Sorry if these are dumb questions I'm still processing everything I've read and have all kinds of crazy concepts like my Rosin Toaster just throw your puks right in and poof! Lol ok maybe not. Again I apologize and thanks for all the info guys.
