NEW Colorado Growers Thread

had to give it a try , as a teen i thought nothing could be cooler than a full time gig off cannabis , never thought it could turn into this mess. there is good organic cannabis in co , hate that the mersh has ruined "our" rep. our being small ethical growers

sorry you are dealing w that industry garbage

really sad tho what "legalization" has done to the sack of weed for the everyday guy

Just one more small step for man... I'm sure not in the direction we'd like to see.

Part of the legalization effect, is cause we left everything up to the elected officials and they have been selling us out and down the river because they where never for any of this.

in person , I brought pm up and proximity of sprays to harvest up , the reception was not positive. the industry is not a place for ethical people in my experience so far. where i work will swear up and down the weed is pesticide free and p.m., spider mite and gnat free but it is the exact opposite.

Is testing optional for some reason or poorly enforced for sold product?

Seems like one of the better parts of legalization is having tested material

It's required but you can fool analysis in some ways. If you harvest a handful of Glue at the same time, let's say, and one plant has some mildew. You don't have to submit a bud from that plant or all plants- just a couple grams from the entire batch. So you pick and choose what you want to represent the batch. The next step in order to stop shenanigans like this was to have testing labs randomly select buds themselves but I don't believe this has been enforced, yet.

In addition to mold, they only test for certain banned substances. Maybe you're clear of eagle20 but if you have aversions to sprays that can be used/label prescribes throughout flower, you won't have any idea of what was used just looking at those particular tests.

Here's the list of approved pesticides:

Castor, Corn, Garlic, LemonGrass, Cottonseed, Neem, Rosemary, Cinnamon, Geranium, Clove, Mineral, Peppermint, Cedar, Thyme, Sesame, Linseed, Soybean, Canola, Geranium oil? That's a lot of disgusting tasting oils on the approval list, especially when they're burned. These are allowed on "Finished" flowers of cannabis. So gross and unhealthy. Since when is vaped castor or corn oil healthy?

Some of these can easily have caused my wife's RAD reaction. She's used cannabis for occasional asthma/RAD reactions for years, and it's the dispensary cannabis which nearly kills her. Couple puffs from some of these Colorado dispensaries have nearly shut her lung function down completely.

Clean cannabis doesn't have anything sprayed on it during flower at all, and nothing systemic in the plant before/during flower. Tests should be for the complete absence of everything on those lists.

Hey, Colorado legislators! You're screwing up and this list needs to be changed. (Eliminated)

The laws letting monopolies exist in Colorado is a start.
IMO Washington not D.C. made it more likely for the little guy to compete.
Colorado s #1 & #3 have the same guy on top.....venture capitolists making shit weed.

Oh I feel ya. Definitely not defending practices like these in flower. I've been pushing organic foliars for forever to no avail.

I don't do foliars in flower. Period, end of story. Organic/Inorganic doesn't matter with me. If it's on/in cannabis and still unconverted to "cannabis," I consider the cannabis to be tainted. Pest control is done through management methods and with non-systemics pre-flower. Pest control during flower is called cutting the room down and starting over. Another reason to keep rooms to 6-8 lights, instead of 40+.

Yes, I run a VERY tight ship. lol

Posting some pics of Queen Mother at harvest, 10 weeks. The two phenos are very different-

I didn't expect the short, dark branchy pheno at all. They just grew that way- no pinching or training at all. Here's one showing off her trichs for the camera-

Smells like turpentine, lavender & something sweet I can't identify. The tall green phenos need another week, I think.

You have to be crazy careful with “organic” foliar. We use to make one that was the best thing I have seen to get P in a plant. Brew it til we saw yeast...good mold outcompeting bad...Yada, yada

Passed med no problem. Then came rec. yeast is a fail period, no regard for good/bad strains

Kombucha was involved

No mo. No real reason

you set the hook, jidoka... i gotta know....

I've made kombucha for plants, a few batches - first was horsetail and molasses, next was si and ca
but a Phos source kombucha?

Colorado's High Country Kombucha is the strongest SCOBY I've found, from commercial sources. Just an FYI. The G.T.'s I used most recently is really poor quality in comparison... or perhaps it simply needed more time to adjust to 'my' type of tea mix.
