I'm using cedar chips this year and have had cleaner plants, have watered less and it is keeping weeding down to nothing. All over my gardens. No manure though....

I won’t do that now. Your plants looking great. Horse Poop needs to be fermented and is full of nitro. It’s great for vegetation, not for flower.

just my 2 cent

Hi Calle, I appreciate your sound advice, but i think you've misunderstood. I intend to put just straw underneath, not poop, to stop evaporation of the surface and to prevet the rain (end of september) splashing mud up on to the lower buds. Currenetly we're having a mini heatwave and getting daytime temps above 40c. I'll try and put some pictures up later but now it's time for my siesta!

So it's been a little longer than a week since my last update.

All the girl's are doing well, despite us getting daytime temperatures of 44C! The last couple of day's it's cooled down quite a bit and is a pleasat 32/33c.

For us it's been the usual routine, twice aweek to the beach and trying to keep cool. Thankfully we have a small pool.

That's enough of my nonesense; here's the Plants.

First up my friend's "horse shit" grow

Since the last update I've upped the strength of the feed, as i noticed a few of the old fan leaves getting a bit pale. Since then the plant has greened up somewhat.
It's difficult to see from the pictures but she's moving into flowering. We had a very light sprinkle of rain the other day, nothing sufficient as to wet the land, but it has covered all the leaves with fine particles of Saharan sand. Tonight I will be giving all the girls a shower with Neem water once the sun has gone off them. Hopefully that'll wash of the sand, as well as protect them from further grass hopper attack.

I'm really struggling to keep this one low in height! She's stretching like mad! A second net has been installed and i'm out there most days pulling the tops over (super crop style) and using paper tape (micro pore, excellent stuff for working with plants) to tape a fan leafs stem to the net and keep it in place.

On the first photo you can see that there is a terrace wall on the right of the picture. That is my neighbors land and it runs alongside and above ours. My neighbor is a retired Guardia.
The other morning i was outside, sitting on a chair, doing some of my training and generally enjoying the peace ad quite when i heard " Buenas Hombre!" My neighbor was standing directly opposite and above me, looking straight down onto my and my lady. We had a little chat about the excessive heat and how it is supposed to cool down soon. He didn't mention the weed and neither did I. In truth he must have seen it last year and definitely the first year we moved in, as i had large plants in pots where the Panama is now. He's actually a very nice chap and seems to like to talk to me despite my awful Spanish.

The Police helicopters are out regularly now and often we see Police or Guardia driving through the town with a car full of weed. Late September, the Guardia's base in the center of town, stinks of all the weed they've collected.

This last shot shows how I tape the fan leaves stems to the net, pulling the tops down.

The rapid stretch seems to have slowed down and she is not requiring much training at all.

I'm very excited!
