Hey Southwind
Whats up with you? Give us an update on your condition. Getting kind of worried here.
I got some new Sour Bubble f2's cracked and on the way. 2 year old un-refridgerated beans were tough to crack, but looking promising. I am not sure what to do with them yet at a new grow sight. Over 20 up now, so do you have any advice on how I should handle this grow? I have a full time internet connection finally, and I dont have to drive 20 miles anymore to get online. Your advice would be appreciated. TIA

Im with Farmer Joe MAKE A TON OF F3'S, Im no breeder but MJ is pretty simple :find the best female and best one or two males and let the pollen fly!! I know thats just a simple way of doin it and its only from various things ive read but i hve made some f2's in my time and they were /are great! Also maybe throw this around in the breeders forum? You have 20 to work with? Thats more than enough to get some killer f3's.

peace

your in my prayers Southwind!!! dont stop fighting :dueling:

If I were to make a boat load of Sour Bubble f3's, would anyone be interested in them? Or should I just keep them for personal smoke, and leave the seedmaking to the real pro's? (which I am not)

I hope one day to sample some of your preservation work Southwind. I know I wouldnt be disapointed.

Interesting my number 13 SB plant was first up and the one of the best looking so far at day 26 from seed. I will definatley preserve a couple of plants with seed and clone for sure this go around. Maybe more if there is interest.

Hey, Im very sorry to jump on your thread and ask questions but it wont let me make my own thread for some reason. I have looked over a lot of the breeding threads but couldnt find answers I needed. I have here a male and a female lowryder #2 both started at the same time. They are 31 days old. They are a autoflower 60 day finish. I would like to have a lot of seeds and maybe some buds too. I took the male out and shook the hell out of it on a mirror. I then collected some of the sacks and pollen that fell and put it in a plastic container to go in the fridge. I just think this way is to complicated for me for my first grow. I like the shake method more and the seeds are more important. I shook the male over the female just now for the first time. How often should I do that ? When should I stop doing it? I have a thread on microgrow's but no one is responsing to my ?s. Thanks.

I hope I am not too much of a pain either when I jump in threads, and respond. Part of me says help in any way I can, and reality kicks in and says when you open your thoughts up to the people, some people have a tendency to really put you down, and belittle you, especially when the truth is involved. Sad but true. Such is life. Tells you what type of a day I just had.

When seeds are my main idea with the plants, I just set the males next to the female with a small fan and the rest is history. When I want a small amount of seed from a plant, I use a brush and give the bud a small mist spray of water to isolate the pollenation. It works for me, but Southwind or other IcMaggers might have some better ideas. I am no expert at the breeding process, but I have made alot of f2's in my time this way.

Nice job Bignugget. BMR is a really good smoke. I still have a few of those seed left and I might pop them if I have room. BOG said in a thread once that he liked to combine BMR and Sour Bubble for the high. They are beutiful plants.

Lifesaver

Lifesaver

I have just started on a pack of Lifesaver seeds I purchased around a year and a half ago. So far, I think I have 4 confirmed germinated out of 8 or so I've tried so far. My first ones were started in bad soil and so I moved to the paper towel method. It is working better.

I have one that cracked open but is not emerging. I have some Gibberellic acid on the way and I was going to give it a little dose to see if it would get it going.

I have one issue and that is I accidentally mixed three seedlings up. I knocked over a tray of cups one day and the seedlings went on the floor. I scooped everything up and replanted right away but I'm afraid I may have got some mixed up. I have sprouted a some seeds from a bag of local KB and I can't quite tell them apart from the Lifesaver I started. Maybe someone could help me identify.

This is the one I have that is labeled Lifesaver on the cup, but I'm not sure (2 pics):

Here are the other two it could be:

I guess we'll know for sure later on.

Here are some definite Lifesaver seedlings I just started:

One thing I can tell you is you should get those top 4 plants out of those cups and into some larger pots. It is definatley time at that stage. All very nice looking. Really hard to tell which one at that young age. Lifesaver has a tendency to look like pure northern lights through veg when I grew it. Here is some Lifesaver x Bogglegum when young.

I have been running both Sour Bubble and Bogglegum....IMHO the Bogglegum is the better of my two....It is a hardy producer, and it seems to be very stable....my Sour Bubble looks like it should be a big producer....but the biggest thing it produces is stem and leaves....for as much space as it takes up IMO it should produce a lot more....I also think that the Sour Bubble is much harder to clone and grows slower....Some plants will finish in around 50 days and then it seems others can take over 80 to do the same....However I do wish I had bought more of Bog's seeds or at least saved me some males to have produced seeds....Most of my friends biggest complaint with the Sour Bubble is that they wear the hinges out on their refrigerator

You are definitely right. They are a little over 3 weeks old now and I am taking them to a friend's place today/tonight. I will be replanting in 1-gallon pots and moving from 4ft T12's to a 600w HPS. I wanted the roots to be a little dense. :)

I will post some more pics when they are older.

Thanks
