Neptune's Breakdown

holy shit! I did not think you would have pm after all that sulpher you burned!

I would say its a combination of high humidity and very little air movement causing a humid microclimate.,......turn those fans on high and slap them with some serious wind,...it makes them transpire less and reduces the humidity in the room.
if your room is badly infected however dont do this as it will spread like a wildfire.
the leaves on your plants will get crunchy and ugly from this but were only interested in the buds right?! :rasta:

btw:I ended up going with the 3 gal. hydrocells and 3/4 plumbing,...got the old multi flow controller out of storage :jump:
its gonna be fun!

I don't know how i miss this one, but WOW. Neptune, your sure got your stuff together. Very nice setup you got and sorry to hear about the PM. If you can't bring down the Humidity. Is it to late to use that sulfur burner i saw in the beginning of the thread? I personally never used one, so i don't know when you need to stop using them. I think i hear you need to stop using them sometime in the end of flowering. Any way, that might help out some. If your not burning already. Killer grow Neptune, sorry i miss the thread. Awesome strains for sure. I'm a fan of the Salmon Creek also.
Take care,
BG

King Neptune............Don`t let the pm get yas down.......You`ve come too far for it to make much of a difference at this point in the game......What`s worked for me is to increase the air exchange in the room with bigger intake and exhaust and trust me I live in Hell with "RH" through the roof.... Major Air exchange will make yas happy...What`s this "serenade" ?.....I`ve got portable a/c`s and dehuey`s on thermostats and humidistats behind the walls instead of inside the room though so heats not an issue...I can`t imagine all the balls you`re juggling right now with the different thingies you got goin on.........My hat`s off to yas..........Bring it on Home..........Pullin for yas dewd.........DHF...... :joint:

dimebag, the BDSSH seems to always get it first, and she likes to share with her neighbors. But I already have a mega load of spores in this room... so it's all about preventing the conditions for germination - which are near impossible.. but I'm dealing with it.

dedhedfred, hey thanks man... we're in the home stretch now for sure! No pm gona get me down this time, I have it more or less in check, much diminished over last 2 crop's outbreaks. It has been fun learning all these new styles, I hope to improve from here though. The verticle garden is lagging behind the others. Mainly becuase, I think, that the plants got too big, and were not vegged vertically... even still, the verticle ladies have some thick arms in that mass.

Golddustwomen, yesir sulfer should really be stopped by day 21 or earlier... you don't want yur buds tasting like matches!! I did do a quick burn around day 30 or so, however... it did slow down the PM and the buds did not suffer.. as far as my nose can tell. Thanks for coming by man :)

Hydrojunkie, yeah that is one thing this room lacks is better air movement. I find these fuking oscilating fans are damn expensive, and they burn out after 1-2 crops of continuous use. It's a PITA to keep replacing these monster big pedestal fans. I'd love to get some sort of Rotating Axial fan that is rated for continuous use! Good decision on the Hydrocells, you will be stoked my friend... I recomend a 3 week veg in the 3 gallon size.. I did a 16 day veg (from rooted clone) in the 2 gallon size, and I think they could have used another 4-7 days. If you preveg in 4" RW blocks like my homies do, you can just plop em in and flip. Way rad.

caligreen, thanks for the words! the nugage is looking great at this point... can't wait to chop this round cuz I got some cards up my sleeve for the next crop!! :woohoo:

I'll get some pics shortly, we're at 45 days now, and I think the Hindu Skunk could come down at 50-52 days... she is fast and furious.

Target or Wal-Mart should have 16"+ oscillating fans for $15 - $20 a piece. They should be going on clearance any day now, and you might be able to stockpile them at $10 a piece.

lol,...clowntown's on it!
I always got 3 big lasko pedestall fans crankin full blast in the room,..I learned my lesson real bad awhile back with some clones from 3rd floor :bashhead:
I loved going into wallmart late night blazed and staring at all the rubbermaids, lights and crap. :chin:
Great tip on the 4'' blocks,....I was wondering how I was going to veg those in the veg room.

I was thinking about using the new coco croutons, but well see.

dont forget h202 as a foliar slays molds, viruses & fungi problems as well.

keep rockin it :headbange

Isn't she though ?

Hope that Big Shiva turns out to be a winner pheno just plugged 12 into 6x6's and going to do only a 7day veg with them and quick test run . But found out some friends up here were doing the Shiva NL5/Sknk all along ....and having great runs with her .

Are you having any luck getting those PKs to do their purp show ?

And what's with this debate over here on Dabney Blue vs M39 , with M39 being assigned NL5/Sknk1 genes? Wouldn;t mind if the Shiva had some blueberry overtones to it ! ;o)

Terran, yeah it will be interesting to see how the Big Shiva stacks up against the Hindu Skunk. I promise you, the Shiva will have an uphill battle to slay this Hindu God!! lol The Hindu Skunk is amazing. But yeah, let us know how that Shiva works for you man, It'll be another 4 months before I get to work with her.

The PK just will not purple up. I think this is reason enough never to grow this strain again...my temps are HOT though(80-85 on, 75-80 off). the Granddaddy purpled even in hot temps, whereas this PK just chillin and chillin and chillin... looking done for a week now and she is at 7 weeks this friday.. what gives!!! Next crop gona be some serious effort on the Granddaddy.

Slips, are you running DWC or ebb/grow buckets? I'd love to see some 5 gallon ebb and grow, as I think it is the best system I have ever run... and I will show you what I mean in a minute!! I love everything blueberry, but I just cant' find what I need in the blueberry genes -- yet ---! Gotta have that artifical blueberry syrup smell, and must-yeild-well. ;)

Check out my thread they are in re-cerc dwc witha chiller, :), i like the idea off 3gallen ebb anf flow buckets for a sea of green, also your pk's wont turn purple cause they are not done they go 9-10 weeks!!!!! (they will turn purple only a few days before they are done, and a black light purple at that) those pk way better than erkle as they yeild more, and taiste like grape candy.

The best blueberry i had was dj true bluebery my freind suzie grew, so taisty so strong, but took 10 weeks, and the yeilds where medium i'm hoping the dabney genes will bulk mine up lower the flowering time, and keep the taiste.

hey , keep us posted when you get that cross to succede. ..grew out a couple of NL/BB's outside and got two distinct phenos . The one on the left has more running spear colas that lack the strong BB scent where the one on the right has more like these puffball flower sites that really have the lovely blueberry fragrance going . Taking forever to stack up though , hoping for a rush finish...but looks like not a great yield for the size of the plant .

they are getting some nice magenta color though on the spear type , but waiting for the fragrance to appear , alas

Day 47 Bloom

Day 47 Bloom

OK let's get started with the update... we are approaching 7 weeks and I have never had so many strains looking so ripe this early...I'll say some words for each strain in the garden.

OK first things first, clearing up my Mystery strain. It is now pretty clean I have an SR71 Odyssey, as this is a spitting image of other people's Odyssey, and looks the same as their flier.

Odyssey 47 days.
9807Odyssey47d2.JPG

9807Odyssey47d1.JPG

This is definatly a 7 week strain, and she is on the furthest edge of the E&G garden. Her yeild is a little off becuase of this position. I hear she is an easy big yeilder but her frost is a bit lacking, as is her aroma. She won't get another run if I can help it... there are much better ladies in my stables.

Speaking of Ebb & Grow,

This system is straight bomb. Gi-normous buds everywhere... wow :jump:

Here's a look at the SCBB in there, she is .... special....
9807SCBB47d1.JPG

9807SCBB47d2.JPG

I can't imagine what a whole SCBB crop would look like, don't even make me think about it!!! I don't want to see that ever!! Aahhhhhh!!!! Makes me giddy... lol!!

OK NEXT!!! :rasta:

Checkout the Verticle Garden... coming along for the finish!
9807verticle47d.JPG

A small side bud of the SCBB in there. Notice how RIPE she looks for 47days compared to the E&G garden. I notice soil finishes earlier, same is true with the BDSSH in the dirt, vs. the E&G.

MORE??? yup!

TABLES!

Purple Kush
9807PK47d2.JPG

As pointed out(thx terran), I suppose the PK will not purple until weeks 9-10 which totally removes the whole point in growing this strain. It does look to be a nice yeilder, better than the Erkle/GDP I have done previously... but if it don't purple it's not worth the troubble. No way I am letting her go 10 weeks, I'd rather grow Granddaddy Purple and harvest at 8 weeks. This strain is definatly chronic, and I will enjoy smoking her no doubt about it... but I really like the purple coloring on these fine fine Indicas... it makes them or breaks them.

Best for last..

SR71 Hindu Skunk
9807HS47d1.JPG

9807HS47d2.JPG

9807HS47d3.JPG

9807HS47d4.JPG

Such a complex aroma from her, very spicy but deep down she has got some hashberryfruit thing going on... she is a very well developed lady and is looking almost done at 47 days visually. I will definatly let both tables cross 8 weeks before harvesting for good ripeness. This is my favorite plant in the garden, she is amazing in every way. A grade herb and a solid yeilder. No mold to speak of either... PM or Botrytis.

What I am trying to ilustrate with these next two photos, is the branches I left in "the walkway." I did not remove these, as I was hoping they would "share" the lighting from the Purple Kush table, and they did. Easily an extra 1-2 ounces of primo buds in the walkway. I also broke/bent these branches down to keep them low and in the lights from the PK table. I also reduced my walkway by hugging the tables about 8" closer together on this crop. Micro adjustments from my mad ever-churning brain... I'm sick I tell you!

9807HS47d5.JPG

9807HS47d6.JPG

Ok phew, that was a mega update. Next one will be a harvest update!
They're coming down in 9 days! E&G probably more like 16 days~

Lastly,
To hell with CO2. Nothing but troubble...

A what an update it is!

Beautiful work Neptune, my mouth is watering over here from all the frosty ladies.
also giving me high hopes for the hindu skunk, looks like it sure is a great pheno selected that comes from SR71.

Everything is looking 2 thumbs up and really enjoying your show, Keep up the excellent work and looking forward to seeing finished pictures and a smoke report if at all possible.

Peace :joint:

Great update....

yah the SR Pk's need 9-10 to purple up. I've finally dropped that clone cuz it's a pain in the ass. Killer smoke though.

I agree about the Ody's. They just don't compare to the HK and other strains. My HK's have way more crystals the the Ody's so far and they look like they will yield more. So Ody won't be around again over here either.

My plants are spilling out of the tables into the aisle too. It's crazy. They turned a 4x4 space into a 5x5! I literally have to crawl to get through the aisle. Glad I didn't chop those branches though cuz it's definetly gonna help with yeild.

On a side note I picked up some Ody smoke and I must say it has killer flavor and a nice fruity aroma, but the crystals were lacking and the potency is lacking. Decent daytime smoke though.

Gotta thank you for documenting this grow as it's really helped me with my own grow. I'm basically a couple weeks behind you. This was my first time running slabs so I was able to use your grow as a kind of benchmark to make sure mine were on schedule and looking right.

Lookin good nep. I'm surprised those reflectors lit the edges of the tables so well. How far are they from plant tops?

Killin it over there man. I was thinking about trying an E&G system, but I think those pictures just put me over the top.

So what was the deal on the co2 being more trouble than it is worth? Once I got the right dehumidifier and air conditioner my sealed room has been trouble free. I have a non sealed room with similar specs and it is crazy humid and I always get more bugs in there. Maybe you should just send over your co2 stuff and I will seal my other room :muahaha:

Anyways, another good show.
