My son turns 18 in days/Should I get high w/him?

He seems to have some of my ways, but?

How would it sound to you younger icmaggers? I mean would you just think old dad was trying you? I am a long haired person and the boy knows I did 4 yrs for growing when he was a tot, so he knows. Plus I've been in the music industry for yrs and he's made it onto a few crew buses that were filled w/weed, so?

How should, or should I, broach this subject w/him?

do you know that he smokes? if so then i'd probably say go for it, but i definitely wouldn't ask him to get high if he isn't already a smoker. i got high with my dad at about that age, it was extremely awkward at first but i still thought it was cool as hell. of course he gave me a lecture about using it responsibly, not too often, etc. he basically said as long as im stayin in school and takin care of my shit and not just getting high every day it's not a problem

I think he smokes and as for his mom? The reason 18 yrs old means anything. It's the day I'm free of bank in child support. The ex will have zero hand as it were.

I can't imagine smoking with my dad. But then again, he's one of the most uptight assholes to walk the face of the planet.

It would probably be the most awkward and incredibly scary moment of my life.

But in your shoes, I would say go for it. It all depends I guess on how you propose it to him I guess.

Heh, I started pinching my parents stash at a pretty young age. By the time I was in HS, they both knew I smoked and didn't stress me on it. I've been smoking with my parents for a long time and still do when I get the chance.

In HS, my pops used to take me skiing every friday during the winter. As long as the grades were kept up I could pretty much do whatever, except for missing more school than the skiing trips. We would burn a joint on the lift up about every other run down the hill.

If I had kids, I would rather they got their herb from me and smoked in places other than a buddies car or in public. If he smokes and is pretty responsible, I say go for it.

Two out of three of my kids get high. My son,22 is a bigger head than i am. After hearing a couple of his, i almost got arrested trying to score some weed stories, i just started suppling him and getting high with him. My youngest girl, 20 has friends that have weed and she always comming around for a bud or two, ive gotten high with her a few times. My oldest girl 26, doesnt get high but has tried everything and i mean everything.
My story with them is "You get nothing done quick when your high, so take care of your shit, then if you like get high.
Long story short, if he gets high, get high with him and show him how to do so responsibly.

I smoke with my mom dad and grandma and sister. It was the most bonding experience to smoke with my folks and family. I was 20 first time i smoked with them but my dad has been stealing my stash since i started smoking weed heavy when i was 11. Do it dude if you know your son smokes.

No offense intended but just making it to 21 yrs old doesn't mean a person should be out drinking either. It's more a maturity issue and in the case of being an estranged father/son thing perhaps there's even a comfort level that needs to be attained or established. I read above that others stated to make the weed available to him & think that's at least a cool way to go about taking the first step down that path. Good luck & glad to hear you're off the hook to the old lady.......
