I would absolutely NEVER trust your son with anything important again. That is cold; and self-preserving in an extremely narcissitic way. My brother is an absolute mirror image of this boy and can tell you first hand. Treat him decently..... but do NOT trust him.

If you can keep your grow a secret from your son then I would consider it. But for me I think that would somewhere ELSE but the home; I simply would not trust your son after that. ESPECIALLY since we are talking about your FREEDOM here.

Pick one, or consider it a major secret and never allow them to mix.

wow man. I'm VERY surprised the cops didn't try to stall you or hold you at the station until they could get a warrant. There's another post on here about the same type of thing, and the cops detained him outside his house until they got the warrant.

Damn, sorry that it went sour like that. I'd grow the, it seems from what you say that the heat is gone. I would keep your son at arms length, and at the time i would have made his life a living hell by introducing him to what it's like living in jail. Nowhere to go, no computer, no vid games, nowhere to go but school, man even his job would have been forfeit, and that's just for starters. Man, the more i see the youth of today the less i want to have kids.
I'd be listing shit off for the cops right then and there when they found nothing. "For totalling my wife's car, lying to law enforcement officers, attempting to have me arrested for not letting you have a brand new car, and having obvious ties to criminal activity of the marijuana kind, which is evident by your own pictures. You are hereby grounded for 90 days, no TV, Phone or no going anywhere except school. Also, you aren't allowed to see any of your friends or go out on dates." LOL Obviously, in the weeks to come if nothing happens to escalate the situation or piss me off, i'd bring it to 30 days to 60 days. lol. That's a long time to have nothing but books and board games. LOL.
Good luck enforcing the rules today too, social services would hit you up for abuse and unlawful imprisonment.

(just wanted to add this) I'd be like right there in front of the cop "and for the next 365 days you will be drug tested twice a week." hahahaha. There are always ways to get around the punishment, but, that's sort of escalating the issue and then i'd report him a runaway. LOL. I'd be wicked cool with my kids though, so when they mess up hard i'd have to treat them hard. Lesser obviously would result in lesser restrictions. I'd have shown him right then and there he didn't want to goto war with me. I might use variations to save some cards for him retaliating. Don't lay down the hammer all at once, use multiple swings so that it's not killer punishment all at once, but work up to it. lol.

But, since it is so far past, just grow and keep him at arms length...and don't buy him a new car any time soon. lol.

There are two types of people in this world, one type uses bad upbringings to better themselves and become great people, and then there's people like your son, my brother-in-law, etc. who will never learn, refuse to learn ,and use their past to justify heading down the wrong path every time. It's just really hard to accept your own kid is a loser. Sorry man, I hope he does change, but if it doesn't happen by age 25 or so, forget it...

That is fucking heart breaking.That saying "if you can't trust your family who can you trust" really doesnt hold much water.I had to cut my brother off after several thefts and attempted thefts and he's threatened to turn me in if I dont start supplying him again.Its the worst of the worst of feelings being betrayed by family.The only reason I feel safe growing now is my mom will cut my brother off from his inheritance if he does anything.After she's gone I really may have to stop.Nothing surprises me anymore though.Nothing anybody can do will surprise me ever again I think

as previously mentioned my stepdad grew when i was in my teenage years. didnt really give a shit because it was stealthed so well i didnt figure it out until i became grow savvy and still took me a while.
