My new cab - Female seed NL

Your excellent cab design is now paying off, particularly your rez. You have total control of the environment and that allows you greater flexibility in maintainence. If you didn't bring it up, I doubt many people would think you were noob.

How's the whole root thing looking?

So how long have you been into flowering now? NL is supposed to be a 8-9 week strain, but think it is going to be more like 10 weeks. They are starting to fill out good. Have 3 that are entering week 6, no way they will be done at 8 weeks. Trichs will tell, dont trust what the breeder says. Some people say it is from day one of 12/12, and some say from first sign of flowering. In both our cases, think it is from sign of flower! Thats ok, it will be worth the wait! Good job!

Hey Slowandeasy - thanks for stopping by. I started 12/12 on 3/2/09, so that means I'm day 50 (7 wks.) into flower. They say (Female seeds, that is) that it takes 8 weeks, but these are growing slow because of low temps, so I might need to go as long as 10 weeks.

Howzit cheesebuds - thanks for the props, my girls stink when I open up the cab - but what a stink!!!

Yo Greensmoke - well, I'm still learning for sure, but this is the best I've done so far. Believe me - this guyz a noob!!

I think I'm ready to leave for another couple of weeks Red! I'm very happy with the performance of the rez-rez. I emptied it and measured what's left, it looks like I ended-up pumping about 2.5 gallons from the rez-rez into my SWC - which sounds about right - the girls didn't suffer at all.

I gave the girls a trim, took a whole plastic bag of fanleaves off - here's what I've got here:

Check-out the weird-ass fan leaves on that 2nd image - what-up with that? Some of the buds look a bit - strange, this bud included - any of you get these mutants?

So, I'm starting to think about the final flush - I think I'll start dealing with it in a week or so, and go for 2 weeks - does this sound right to y'all?

Pipedream - Hey, thanks for dropping-in! See your influence in my cab design?

Danny - welcome to my grow, kick-back and enjoy, & thanks for the props!

What-up, Red - yup, I pulled a pile off yesterday, and I'll thin some more this evening - I'll post pics after the haircut.

OK - here's what I've got after trimming, I know it still looks like I have a bunch of foliage in there, but compared to 2 days ago, these ladies are bald! - first, some overall shots-

As promised - some root porn -

And to wrap-up, some bud porn. Check-out that middle picture, it's the largest bud I have, but it just looks, funky. Any thoughts?

I'm 7 weeks into flower, and I'm thinking about starting to flush, the white hairs are turning yellow - any opinions on this? I'd like to flush for as long as 2 weeks, should I start now?

Thanks in advance for the advice!!

Lookin' good. Don't let the hairs fool you. The only true way to time or choose your harvest is to go by the color of the actual glands. Most folks like them 50/50 clear and amber. The more amber, the more the narcotic (read: couch-lock) the high will be. A full week of flush is more than enough for any strain. I sometimes don't and when I do they get just a few days. Never could tell the difference.

I2KanGrow,

Dude those roots look like they're drinking a lot!! how often do you top the res?
Anyway looking really nice and healthy bro. I'm sure you'll pull a lot of buds out of this grow.
I can't believe you didn't stick a 250 in there though! you're going to have a lot of trimming to do come harvest day!!! keep it green.

Do you have a 60-100x hand scope like this??

If you don't you should get one & clip a leaf and look at the marco to see how much % of the thrich is amber? if it's mostly cloudy that's more of a body type high if you like couch lock which I do you need to let them go amber like 80% to 20% cloudy.

I flush for 2 weeks at least to get all the nutes out of the buds but it might go longer than you think. The hairs should be orange mostly as well but only trich will tell for sure.

Hope that helps.
Luv2~

That's alot of roots dude. Can you even get to the air stones anymore? I wouldn't flush yet, those buds are due for an explosion. You may end up going 10 or even 11 weeks.

Thanks for reminding me to get back to the basics guys, I assumed that the yellowing hairs would mean ambering trichs soon - a bad assumption!

Pipedream & Luv2 - I took a look @ a leaf under a magnifying loupe - and they're still quite clear - I'm getting anxious, and need to lay-it-back!

Luv2 - my girls take-up between a pint & 1/2 gal a day, it varies. I check it once a day by sticking a measuring stick into the access hole on my rez cover, and fill it accordingly. I have that automatic rez top-off system that I could use (see my earlier posts), but I really like to keep that access hole clear, to monitor pH & ppms - & besides, I enjoy doting over my girls!

That's alot of roots dude. Can you even get to the air stones anymore? I wouldn't flush yet, those buds are due for an explosion. You may end up going 10 or even 11 weeks.

I tried to completely seperate the top a short while back - I could-have, but I'd end-up ripping the very ends of some of the roots. It probably wouldn't hurt the plants themselves, but I'll just leave them alone for now - why fix it if it isn't broken, ya know? I'd say that the root system is now about 3-ft. long on average, they tend to fold-up among themselves, when you raise the cover up, & seperate from the rez, they unfold kinda like a curtain. It's amazing how that tangled mess is actually quite organized when you stretch them out.

I wouldn't mind a bud explosion... bud explosion = G-O-O-D!!!! :joint:
Here's hoping that you're right Green Smoke!

oooh looking lovely... I'd say too soon with the rest of the gang.

If you notice all the newer growers want to harvest as early as possible. All the potency is in the amber trichs. That Shiskaberry that went 96 days on me was a one hitter on the oldest buds. I try to let the plant go through it's normal life cycle and wait for it to slow down it's nute uptake while reducing nutes at the same time.

Yeah, I discovered that the younger buds are very racy, and make me very paranoid. In my older age, I'm liking a really good, relaxing couchlock, personally.

I'm patient, I can wait.

congrats on a wonderfully built cab and your beautiful healthy plants. I especially love your engineered res with screen! Enjoy the smoking - fucking nice one mate. In your older age, will you be able to smoke it all?
