POST ATTACK

POST ATTACK

Well here's the mother plants after the BORG attack. I've actually got 32 left and all have been damaged to some extent. I have removed the dead or dying leafs and fed the plants.

SOME ARE A LITTLE BIT HEALTHIER THAN OTHERS

I will continue to monitor these plants and spray accordingly. I'll remove all dead material from the pots. When they are back to a reasonable state of health I'll do a clone run.

Such is life in the garden.

Beautiful day outside, 26C and sunshine. Think I'll kick back outside, have a few beers and a smoke and tend the veggie patch.

THE POLLINATION

THE POLLINATION

I've put the male balls and bananas through a grinder. There is a yellowish tint in the colour which is hopefully viable pollen.

I wish someone could explain why it seems it is so hard to get packed pollen sacks instead of these wanna be's.

Some plants are harder to turn than others.

There has to be a reason that some plants seem to resist the actual formation of the pollen, even if the male pods are present.

I've had success with STS, but my last couple tries produced nothing useful. I will be doing a CS run before too long. Perhaps my STS chemicals have gone bad. Don't see how, but I have read they can.

Has anyone read about adding CS to the rootzone as well as foliar? Somehow it seems we need to kill ALL the ethylene the female is producing.

Yes I've seen and read about people having to manually remove pollen. I had no trouble getting bananas so I figured I would just put them through a grinder to release the pollen. I don't know if it's viable though and will persist until the pollinated plants just about drop dead. I don't know about the shelf life of an STS solution.

Adding colloidal silver to the root zone, now that is an interesting concept. I have not heard of that method before.

I don't know about CS to the root zone but i know GA3 does a good job at stopping a plants roots growing in its tracks if it is added to root zone

It seems most people who do crosses of strains manually pollinate by this method. It get's the pollen where it is needed, on to the female flowers. A normal male produces copious amounts of pollen so in the wild the wind or insects would distribute it throughout the females. This is open pollination. I just hope I have viable pollen.

High country have you tried sensibleseeds.com. They are the cheapest i've found and they have all made it though the post?

Thanks for the advice crazy shovel but I am prepared to pay for good genetics. My mother plants are deteriorating rapidly, they took a massive hit from the spider mites in just the 3 days I was away. I will just have to wait and see what happens with them.

After going through the Seed Boutique seed list many times I have decided to order Reservoir Seeds, CHEMDOG IBL, CHEMDOG SOUR DIESEL AND SSDH X G13, a nice mix of new genetics to play with.

Over the next week I will select the mother plants most likely to survive and cull the rest. Hopefully I can get a few to survive and maybe feminized seed of this strain.

The mites descended like a plague of locusts and I was not there to attack them.

Has anyone else in Oz done a run with REZDOG'S gear, particularly CHEMDOG IBL, if so. how stable is it? Been reading different stories.
