Thanks everyone for their support and their insights, I hope that what has happened to me has not scared anybody to not growing, I just posted this story so you guys learn from my mistake, as someone said earlier if your grow room is at your place make sure you follow some basic rules, NO TELL.NO SMELL,NO SELL, as for the whole gun/weapons things, we have to make the place looks secure, maybe install security lights, have a menacing looking dog (even if theyre the sweetest thing), um have show that it not a place to be fucked with but also not to menacing were the cops are suspicious, i believe that everyone has the right to own a firearm for protection, but is it really worth to deal with charge of homicide for protecing a few plants? I dont believe it would be smart to do that because even if your protecing your self i can see the cops painting you to be some criminal who kills indiscriminately, some times you have to pick your battles, I bought this house but i will not be really growing for a couple of months, iam just going to start a mother in a cabinet so maybe in a couple of months when everything is cool i can restart my room again but on smaller scare with more security

seems to me like you got robbed when you were not at home......most roberries happen this way.......so there was no confrontational situation involved......from what I have seen and heard over the years most burglars don't want a confrontational situation to occur where they could be caught/hurt.....

....anyway.........sadly your plants were trashed and your home violated but you are still free and no-one was physically hurt......best just to live and learn from this........and probably best to move to a new place before you consider growing again .....and DO NOT TELL A SOUL!

since were on the subject. What is the best way to secure your surroundings and setup a perimeter. Im in oakland california and so far were 68 days in to the new year and already at 28 homicides. Im looking into security cameras and motion sensors. What do you guys recommend?

i was once at one of my good friends parties...i was the only one with some bud it was the first time in awhile i could grab some nug...i smoked like 4-5 blunts with everyone there only to wake up and my weed be gone...the only people who knew where it was where 3 kids i called my friends 2 are my best friend and wouldnt do shit and one kid is some shady kid i thought was a friend

turns out that the shady kid turned into a heroine addict and stole all his moms jewelery and stuff to pawn it so i wonder who took my weed?

Funk Im not just talking about protecting your grow, These people are breaking into your home. I have family, as well many valuable things in my home. These thieves break into your home and dont find any weed, do you think there not going to see what else they might help them selves to. The law says you can shoot any one that breaks into your home, as long as there inside your home and stealing there fair game,I have no problem with killing, wounding or causing harm to anyone threating my home and family.

first of all i just want to say that i am a 100% legal medicinal grower and the guns that i DO have are all legal as well. i don't have any crazy assault rifles or machine guns. i have a couple of handguns that are registered along with a CWP, so I don;t get in trouble for carrying. 2 shotguns and a rifle from when i used to hunt when i was a kid. my grow is legal and my guns are legal so you can stop your bitching right there. i can't get in trouble for shit, so already i make our hobby look alot better than some kid growing in his daddy's closet. hoping anyone gets busted is completely fucked up. i don;t even wish that on my worst enemy. you're probably a fucking narc or some shit, the type who is just a hater and rats on people over jealousy. if you really care for the cause, you wouldn't want anyone on here to get busted, idiot or not. the karma will get you.

i never ever perpetuated any negative stereo type on a pitbull. my girlfriend and i volunteer at a local pitbull rescue, which is my dream by the way to open up one day. my quote was exactly "i have 5 pitbulls and several guns just in case someone picks the wrong house to break in to" . you even say above your pit would attack someone threatening. is that any different than saying if someone broken into my house, my dogs would attack? i'm 100% the negative image that is portrayed on pits. my dogs are the sweetest, most friendly dogs in the world. everywhere i take them, i am constantly breaking negative stereotype. i take pride in that. i make sure my dogs set a good example for the breed. my dogs are my life and my family, without them i would be lost. don;t take what i said the wrong way and next time don't jump to conclusions and then go and turn around and basically say the thing that you're bitching about... been down this road, I invested some money to protect my crop and family a good security system and posted sign that this house has security also I have a moitoring company that is cotacted if any problems like the what you would have in a buiness .also 24 hour video camera at both entrance. Very well said, I have had the same problem with mr. c when I told my story of getting busted. he thinks im leo and if Im not I desereved to get busted, great guy mr.c is, wish they would ban the guy .

Relax with some good herb, mang. Maybe you won't come off as such a tool. Not everybody gets to live where home invasions DON'T end in homicide. If you ever get robbed, hope that it's from a professional. They really do prefer preying on empty houses. No amount of reasoning or passivity is going to stop a tweaker, up for several days, from royally f*cking your ass up or shooting you in the face if he wants to lay in wait and jack you at your own door.

I don't think an alarm system would make me feel safe. Many people have gotten busted by cops investigating potential burglaries. Unfortunately thieves have you by the ball sack since you are doing something illegal (at the least federally) and have a lot more to lose than some pot plants. You have put yourself in a position that if you do anything you will only be screwing you and your family. Please be smart.

You shoot someone in your house and they find your grow, it's not self defense anymore... they're going to say it's a drug deal gone bad... and you're in it deep now. See you in 15-20 years. All over some stupid plants.

Be smart and realize that you are doing something ILLEGAL. The law is not going to protect you. You brought it on yourself. Acknowledge the position you have put yourself in and understand the consequences of the risks you take, and the rights you forfeit. Take on the chin and move on. Do what's best for your family, not some manly pride BS. If anikas88 wasn't growing, would his house have been burglarized? He thinks it was drug related. The cops would crucify him.

I only see two options: 1) Move and grow again. 2) Stay put and get rid of everything, put in a kick ass alarm system, and put them in jail the next time they visit. It is common for thieves to make a deal and rat out anyone and everyone to the cops when they get caught. You can not grow there again... ever.

FYI its always an inside job. When i was 15 I grew outside and showed a few friends. Another time I went back there and found 1 of my friends showing his friends! About 2 weeks later they stole all the leaves, them stupid idiots. Then the complete moron tried to sell me a bag of leaves, I ended up jumping him a month later and beat his kidneys for a good minute then let him go. I lost a whole bunch of friends over that lol.

It was for sure someone who knew it was there. If I were you I put dead bolts on everything and hide the key. This guy will try and come again. Notice if your friend avoids you for a few weeks, that is a tell tell sign.
