I rescue wild animals whenever I come across a hurt one also so coming at me with stupid comments about me owning a dog can be kept to yourself also I am trying to get any kind of help I can for the rest of the night to make him comfy till morning. I don't need to be chastised for posting this here either I figured it would be a good idea since I've come across SO many pit lovers I thought they'd off ideas of what it could be ect...

Trust us, we feel badly for the dog as well, unfortunately, they DEPEND on us to take care of them properly.

Best friends deserve that much, and no, I have no fucking idea what's wrong with your dog.

you got to go to an emergency vet.......you either get him fixed or put him to sleep....or hes going to die in your arms and shit and piss all over you and your furniture........hopefully he just has a sore esophagus from you not knowing what collar to use........& with you describing how rambunctious he is, he should probably not be on a pinch collar untill you get him under control.

good luck & hope its something simple...but you will never know untill you go

He's been spoiled with love treats and good dog food and scraps ever since!!
Okay so he's been spoiled with love and food. Can he at least do sit, stay, and come??

Young kids shouldn't be responsible for pets IMHO. If you can't be responsible enough to take care of yourself, how can you be responsible enough for another life?

Just use your mom's credit card and go to the vet for christ's sake. What did you really expect to hear when you said "hey my animal's sick what do I do?"

This should be a reminder to save money for shit like this by the way.

edit to add this quote from IGrow

This is what they call "hitting the nail on the head." Your pit isn't going to train himself or walk himself to the doctor when he get's sick and if you fail to provide these basic things for your best friend then maybe he should be with someone who can.

First off, prong collars suck. Even when used right there is a risk, and it sounds like your dog is not that well trained, running and jumping all over the place. Does he pull you while on the walk, because if he does then a prong collar is the worst possible thing to use. You do not use any force at all with a prong collar, its just suppose to get the dogs attention.

Look in your phone book for vets in the area, call them and tell them you have money problems, and ask if they have any payment plans. Its really bad to ask advice on an online forum, especially with what little info you gave.... Are there wounds on the outside of his neck? Did he jerk you on the leash during your walk? Did you check the inside of his throat for abrasions or any kind of inflammation?

Even with the answers, treating over the internet is a longshot at best...

See folks that's what I was looking for a answer like that, no he has no marks no cuts of any kind, from what I can tell it seems like he has a pinched nerve from that stupid prong collar? Folks trust me that thing was a VERY last resort! He was never trained to go for walks as a pup and yes dude made me look like a asshole when we go for a walk cuz he just didn't listen but inside he's so damn good and smart as hell too. So as soon as he felt the pressure from the collar he got in line and didn't pull no more, but today he did lunge at a squirrel but that's the only really jerk I can remember. Like I said it all started after that treat and it's been downhill from there but only when he moves certain ways he can walk around it's just getting on the bed seems to make him yelp and same with him lifting his head up from laying down like when he hears the door...

SLEEP WELL KNOWING HE WILL BE AT THE NEAREST VET AS SOON AS THEY OPEN TOMORROW MORNING!!!

Thank you to those of you that offered ideas other than the obvious :thanks:

I know you think people are being mean man, but in all honesty, they aren't. In your original post you say you have no money for the vet, implying you won't be going. People are just trying to tell you, even if you don't have money, you HAVE to go. It's that simple.

If you feel it's extremely urgent, and it sounds like it might be, I would personally find an emergency clinic or an after hours vet. Most of the vets i've used had after hours #'s you can call if it's an emergency. They will talk with you and figure out if your dog requires emergency attention or not, and if so you bring him in. If not, they set you a morning appointment.

At the very least, I'd be scouring dog and vet forums looking for a possible answer, but really if it was me I'd bite the bullet and go to an emergency clinic. But it can't hurt to at least call some emergency clinics and explain the situation to them and ask for advise. They can't charge you for that. They might be a tad reluctant to get too in depth on the phone, but just make sure you make it clear you're trying to figure out if it's something that can wait til morning or not. They are there to help.

(it's not really the time for this) but try a gentle leader(or halti) instead of a prong collar, they work WONDERS on 99% of dogs and don't cause any pain or risk damage to the dog

GOOD LUCK!

me blunt is like, wicked yo!! owight
dogs are living beings just like humans are. do whatever you can in the interim of waiting to be able to take him to the vet.

dont listen to the asshats on here!! no one and i mean NO ONE knows your pain more than you do. they may have had animals die on them but thats YOUR animal, and YOUR situation, so do what YOU can with what time you have.

you can check his ears, mouth, throat, teeth, neck and anything else. touch him here and there and if he yelps or reacts then you know you may be getting closer. if anything it will be more that you can tell the vet once you get him there.

you may not get that advice you need, but i do hope that someone on here chimes in that my have had a similar problem, or if you can call a vet or some sort of pet rescue line for advice then do that. there has to be some one that you can talk to about whats going on flat out.

is there a friend that you can contact to give you a ride until then? contact whomever you can, that can help you.

i honestly wasnt a pet person at all, but my wife recently adopted a cat and MIKEY is my homeboy now, chills out with me on the couch all he wants is to be cared about, eat and let outside to chase shit. i love to watch his hunting instincts in action. as odd as it may be for me to admit this, my cat is one year old and hes damn near like a teenager! all he wants to do is eat and shit, tell him hes ok and let him out to play when he wants , theres no difference when my kids ask me for money to go out and get something to eat, at least mikey cleans up after himself!!

i feel you dude, he'll be ok, but in the meantime check him yourself and see what you can do in the interim of waiting there are people on IC that can help you to some degree, they just haven't shown up yet

Hey thunderkel, you helped inspire me to do a CFL grow so I want to really try and help you out.

Some vets will take a work for service trade. If you are broke, offer some time to work off your debt (after they fix the dog).

All night ER's usually need cash before each service ...
