Here is my home made carbon scrubber, I'd like to thank Home Depot for Materials and Durban Poison for the well informed tutorial on how to build this. I still need to get a centrifigul fan for it but I am glad I have made it this far.

My homemade bubble cloner this only costs me about $12 dollars to build. I took a 2nd batch of clones because the wick cloner just didn't do it for me. These clones were taken 25 days into flower but they seem to be responding well to the 24/7 light cycle and I see some small white stubs starting to form.

34 Days Flower, Enjoy everyone

Well I am at 38 days flower and the buds on my plants are looking kind of small... Are they going to get any bigger or fatten up? I am growing Northern Lights x Big Bud so I am hoping these colas are going to get fatter otherwise I am going to be really disappointed. Am I just being impatient or am I doing something wrong? I need some input guys...

With kudos to the TV series Kung Fu - Patience young grasshopper.... :chin: Those buds look perfectly good sized for a month+. Some strains double bud size the last couple weeks in flower.

My problem with mid flower has been unexpected high EC and nute lockout, so I test runoff at least once a month, sometimes more often. They look good now - just a bit of tip burn on the leaves - they're at the level they like and can tolerate. If you keep the EC and pH in a good range they'll yield fine for you, very fine canopy of bud.

Thanks for the input MGJ, I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't doing anything wrong or atleast that I am on the right track. Kind of embarassing but what is EC? I am new to this so my terminology isn't the greatest :pointlaug

EC - PPM - pH: the language of testing meters. Meters read Electrical Conductivity, which is mathmatically related to PartsPerMillion - the number of chemical molecules in the water. The conversion depends on the brand meter - mine does the conversion automatically and an EC of 1.0 translates to a PPM of about 700. Different strains can take different concentrations of nutes, but until one knows how much a strain can take, you can't go wrong working them up to EC .8-1. Heavier feeding strains can sometimes use as much as EC 1.5-2, but give this amount to less hungry strains and they'll fry. Take it from the fryer of many plants :pointlaug

No worries asking questions - I asked lots my first grow - and still do - lotsa helpful peeps here :woohoo: It took me a couple grows to get comfortable with the plants; I still have surprises, as you can probably guess, mostly from unexpected nute / pH problems... :chin:

Just keep an eye on the leaves - if they start spotting or changing colors something is going on. You're cruising for a fine harvest.

Thanks for the info MGJ, I am still new to the game so I have to ask questions. I do have one more question for aanyone out there who is listening. I read an article over at cannabis culture which was a very in depth forum on scrogging in which the grower suggested to cut fan leaves at any point during flower if it was shading a bud site. Well I am somewhat hesitant to do this because I don't want to stress the plant into a Hermie. And I have tried to tuck as many as possible but no matter what there are still budsites being shaded. Should I cut certain fan leaves or just leave em be and stop being so picky?

This is the MMM#2 That is very skunky to the smell but when you disturb it it almost smells like fruity berries? Anyone got and ideas as to what the strain might be?

This next MMM#2 Is one that i am falling in love with very fast, I wasn't able to quite put my finger on the smell until i realized. Pineapple it smells like sweet pineapple its amazing!

And well here is the rest of the Garden

Hiya HC
Keep in mind I've grown out mostly sats, just getting into indica grows now. I can understand the reasoning clipping leaves to expose bud sites, I've also read somewhere here that cutting off 1 or 2 blades on certain leaves gets most of the benefit and still leaves leaf for photosynthesis. Guess this is one of those things a grower tries a few things and picks what works best for him/her. I'll have to make a decision myself, a few of the plants I have growing out how have some big phat leaves.

Major props to you my friend, those are some seriously phat buds for 41 days. They wouldn't be that size if you had serious problems earlier on. You're gonna have lotsa primo :joint: very soon!

Boy I hope your right MGJ, For some reason I don't know if I am psyching myself out but I keep telling myself I am doing something wrong or they should be bigger by now? I guess maybe I should post some more pics with a tape measure or something for size comparison so yall can get a better idea of the size.

I just put my two MMM#2 clones in soil so those will be some mother plants for the future. I believe one of the MMM#2 is Mangolian Indica only because of the Mango Pineapple smell it gives off. The other has a very musky skunky smell, almost like catpiss. :chin:

I will try and take some pictures tonight so you guys can get a better idea of size and then I can get some input.

Big Block Dude chill. Those plants look fucking amazing. Smoke a fat one and chill.

Patients is what is needed most right now. Your buds will swell and put on some serious weight the last 2 weeks of flowering. Those buds are going to be some nice fat ass buds!!!! :woohoo:

Patients, patients, patients and more patients. I wish someone would have given me that advice when I started growing.

Do you have a microscope to check your trichs? If not go to Radio Shack and by one for $10.00. I wish I would have gotten one years ago it takes alot of the guess work out of it.

Nice job

Yes I do, picked up the 10 dollar one at radioshack. I guess I was just stressing because I heard they are supposed to swell up significantly toward the end of flower and its day 45 and I am working with 60 day strains so I guess I was getting worried. If you say so Garlic I will have patience, thats easy for me Its just good to know that I am on the right track. :joint:

HC - ^^^ what Garlic wrote... The claimed flowering time is not written in stone - my first grow I lst'ed the plants way too long and turned a 55-60 day plant into an 82 day plant :yoinks: Heavy stress, pruning, training, pinching, nute problems can all slow down flower development. Glad you have a microscope now, the trichs don't lie - if I picked my first harvest by days flowering it would have been pretty light on crystal...

When the buds start getting chubby I know you'll have a hella smile on your face! :D :yummy:

Well Guys I just purchased myself a 4 inch 170 cfm fan and set it up ontop of my homemade scrubber. The only problem is its not eliminating the smell. Do i need to have my grow room air tight or sealed off? Does it take awhile to eliminate the smell? I need some advice in this area asap because smell is a big concern to me and i don't know what to do.

HC, can you refresh my memory? How do you have the ventilation setup? Ideally the room needs to be sealed except for the passive intake and the forced air exhaust. If you seal up the grow the smell outside should drop a lot. I think :chin:

Well here is what it looks like, my scrubber just sits here like this pulling air through the bottom part and blowing it out the top. I have a box fan to circulate the air but have to intake/exhaust holes cut. I just keep the door closed mostly or I will leave it cracked somewhat to get fresh air in and keep temps down. The fan is an ecotech by the way. Let me know what you guys think...

Man HC, you must be doin something right!!! :yoinks: they are looking taaaaayyyysttteeee!

I understand the setup now - if you can get intake and exhaust sussed out and close up the area the scrubber combined with venting should take care of all odor problems. Closing up the area will also make it a bit tougher for bugs and spores to set up shop - they'll tend to be filtered out or flushed out the exhaust.

Looking real sweet man! You're in for a helluva harvest!
