Well I can gauge the smell to a certain degree but 2 weeks into flower its starting to get bad! As a matter a fact those were some stinky buggers during veg!

Anyways I am going to have to invest in some odor control for my security.

The other day my girlfriend came over and asked if I was "Toking the night b4 cuz it smells like weed" and I replied no of course to which she said "well you must have the night b4" (which I didn't) but I just told her I did. Anyways my point is its starting to smell.

I was just curious as to whats better, a ozone generator or a carbon scrubber with a fan which is more expensive and my budget is pretty tight. I was looking at Durban Poison's tutorial on how to make a scrubber which is relatively inexpensive but the centrifigul fan is what will set me back. I don't need anything huge as my grow room is small but I DO need to get the odor under control its beginning to make me really nervous. Anyone have any advice/ideas?

I was also wondering if you can just set up the carbon scrubber on the bottom like this picture I painted. Does the fan just pull the air into the scrubber and the air gets trapped along with the odors? I hope someone understands what I am rambling about. Thanks a bunch guys!

Boy they're looking good now!:yummy: No problems with bleaching now that I can see - good to file that for the next grow!

Odor - I hear ya. I went with a Vaportek deodorizer and love it, but to save bucks a carbon scrubber will do the trick. Problem with the cheap fans is they drop airflow a lot when there is resistance in the air path - IOW you have a can of carbon granules to push air through you need some oomph behind it. You could always try with an inexpensive fan, but test to make sure you're moving enough air through the can. With a small grow you may not need huge cfms; haven't seen any low cfm carbon scrubber threads so you might have to experiment a bit.

Nice grow HC. Diy scrubber is just a fan pulling air through a filter sandwich, as big or small as your stinkola requires. Don't have to be big and expensive, to work.

Yeah I used to have a scrubber that was made out of a laundry basket. :biglaugh:

It was big and took up alot of space, took a shitload of carbon, but it worked! :D

Well here is my best attempt at taking some upclose shots. I know its not the best but its pretty hard to keep steady when you are that close up. I will try later tonight and maybe do these girls some more justice.

Thanks for the positive comments guys! Without getting too far ahead of myself I was doing some thinking as I always seem to do when I am high and came to the decision that I would really like to give Hydro a try.

I am a bit worried though because it seems very technical and a little bit too confusing as far as growing plants goes. I was looking at maybe a four 5 gallon bucket DWC setup using this pump, http://www.wormsway.com/detail.asp?sku=DDAP500

Well as far as that goes I don't know what else I will need as far as hardware is concerned but I just thought I would throw the idea out there and maybe get a little bit of advice/feedback on what you guys think. I guess I would like to know what I am getting myself into before I make the jump as far as technicality and cost goes. I am all about keeping it as simple as possible so i am not sure if this is for me? :chin:

Here is an update with the lights out, This is day 28 and don't ask about the crappy tinfoil. I figured it would be better then nothing until I can get to the hydro store and pickup some mylar. :pointlaug

User Name: Thanks I am trying my best to keep things from going bad. Its about this time during my last grow when things started getting ugly.

Respect: I know I am amazed at the way things are starting to look, this grow just might turn out some good quality smoke. I am pretty excited cuz it seems like I have been doing things right so far.

Insomniac: Howdy Insomniac glad you could stop by. I am hoping to get a nice yield off of the NLxBB and the other stuff is there pretty much for some variety. I will have 4 different strains to smoke from when I am all said and done. Its a shame I will never know for sure what 2 Sag strains it is that I am smoking. If I had to take a guess I would say one of them is BubbleBerry because it has had very dark purple stems since it was a seedling. As far as the other one goes I have no idea but it sure is starting to frost up like crazy!

Glad you guys enjoy the show so far, stay tuned because I have a feeling things are going to get more exciting in the next few weeks. :lurk:
